STRENGTHS
- Heavy Handed: The Ba'vodu Class Cruiser is fitted with numerous heavy weapon emplacements, allowing it to engage multiple enemy vessels above its own weight class for short periods of time, or seriously challenge individual ships of larger size.
- Thick Skinned: On top of its heavy shielding, the Ba'vodu Class employs heavily reinforced and layered armored plating across its entire frame, allowing it to withstand serious enemy firepower even should its shields fail.
- Lasers: Like other larger Mandalorian Union vessels, the Ba'vodu does not make use of missile based weaponry, instead relying on numerous turbolasers, lasers, and ion based weaponry, limiting its overall combat range.
- Exposed Bridge: The bridge of the Ba'vodu is largely exposed on top of the ships frame, and provides a tempting target should the shields of the vessel fail. There is a secondary bridge located further inside the vessel, but transferring control of the vessel from one to the other takes time, leaving the vessel crippled and vulnerable.
The Ba'vodu Class Cruiser was designed as the primary cruiser and backbone of the fledgling Mandalorian Union fleet. Lacking the ability to create larger capital ships, the Union had to instead focus on equipping their smaller vessels with enough firepower to be able to challenge larger vessels and fleets in combat. With its array of molecular, ray and particle shielding, the Ba'vodu is given whatever means the Union could afford to make the vessel a proper warship, and one of the only ships in their fleet that does not double in a civilian role.
