Battle for Democracy (Aurelia)

Caid Centurion

Caid offered the woman a succinct reply. "The former, preferably." There was no need to address her earlier statement. Caid would, of course, not do anything to jeapordize a potentially mutually beneficial relationship between the Republic and Archangel. Then again...even as a pirate he'd had a much more clearly defined set of ethics than his associates and subordinates.

“Splendid. We can bring a full battalion of our forces to a location of your choice. We can demonstrate with low powered stun weapons against your troops in wargames, or they can fight each other. Your choice.”
Anna showed no indication she minded and Maelion certainly didn’t. She put no value on organic life, and certainly not on any synthetic ‘life’ except her own and possibly Moira’s. To her, the loss of an entire legion of droids in a mock battle would be worth it if it gained trust and influence.

Caid nodded his head and provided a swift reply. "Excellent. Yinchorr in two week's time satisfactory?" The Grand Admiral had no doubt that there would not be an issue with the performance of the droids. The specifics of the Republic order could, of course, be worked out via a more remote means. Caid was satisfied that he was not dealing with an idiot, not that he'd expected to be. "Is there anything else you wish to discuss?"

That sounds perfect, Admiral.
Since both writers have agreed that actually RPing said details are unnecessary, this thread can time-lapse to two weeks later after the demonstration.

The droids had gone through their paces with (obviously) machine-like precision. Anna Comnena hoped they had made a good impression as she waited for the Admiral to arrive and discuss his thoughts on the matter.

Caid arrived at the side of Comnena a handful of moments later. With a thin smile, he offered the woman a nod of the head. "Excellent performance. I'll have my office submit the official requisition paperwork later today." Extending the woman a hand, Caid's easy smile slowly dissipated. "I look forward to a fruitful business relationship."

Maelion extended her hand and shook Caid's firmly. Needless to say she'd long learned how to shake hands without crushing the other person's bones!

"Thank you, Admiral, I look forward to this relationship too." With a final nod of respect she turned and headed from the room. The mission had been a success....
