DETAILED SPECIAL FEATURES
basilisk.jpg
  • Modular weapon mounts: The 6 mounts and 2 launch tube mounts can be changed with ease to anything in the weapon size. That is to say there is some common sense here, even if all 6 of those mounts were traded out, they couldn't be exchanged for a turbolaser or capital class weapons. As long as the user is attaching weapons of its category size, they are go for adding it to the Basilisk Mk 2.
  • Personal Shield: The Basilisk Mk 2 supports an energy shield that covers it and rider. This, however come with limitations. It works for a short period, and while active there is not enough power to fire weapons like basters, lasers or other energy based weapons. This shield works for a short period against energy attacks, it does nothing against kinetic attacks, sonic attacks, heat, cold or acid. Also, it can be overloaded with enough damage dealt to it. Lastly, the energy is rather draining, it cannot stay active indefinitely or the battery of the droid will drain, the shield projector will melt, and the user will be ultimately screwed.
  • Minor cargo capacity: The Basilisk's claws are good for more than combat, it can carry objects as well. (Including passengers with their armor) the Basilisk can carry 900 lbs.
  • Semi-sentient: This droid is semi-sentient, like a dog only smarter. It has a limited verbal vocabulary, recognizes voices and users, and responds to verbal commands. The user may ride the Basilisk Mk 2 like a mount or they can give it orders and have the droid steer itself--and then there is the third option which is a bit of both.
Strengths:
  • Modular: The Basilisk Mk 2 can be adapted to whatever the user needs, whatever colors they want, whatever weaponry they want, it can be changed. The armor plates can even be changed out--however it is recommended if changes are this extreme the user should probably submit their own version of the Basilisk Mk 2 to the factory
  • Strong armor: Quadranium steel is some strong stuff. It takes heavy hits to beat through this droid's armor and takes a lot of abuse.
  • Mando grit: Honestly, the Basilisk Mk 2 is designed with Mandalorians in mind. It is designed to put up with a lot of banging around, storage in bad conditions, tromping though the darker places of the galaxy and such and keep on ticking. Its water proof, rust proof, has a Faraday cage to combat against EMP and ion attacks, is designed to go into pretty harsh weather and still hold up pretty darn well, so all in all its pretty durable.
  • Loyal: A design perk to help the user feel safer using the Basilisk Mk 2, it is very loyal. Some become highly attached to these droids and almost keep them as pets as well as war mounts. When your fighting with a basilisk, you know its got your back.
Weaknesses:
  • Exposed rider: These things could be rode into space if you wanted to--I mean you'd need your own sealed suit and such, but you could. The Basilisk Mk 2 is pretty intense, but the user is exposed, so they are on their own to provide personal armor, breathing apparatuses, and so on. Remember, even if the Basilisk is durable, you are still a fleshy meatbag that can be burned at just 44 Degree Celsius.
  • Limited power sources: The Sheild. The weapons. The high boot engines. The launch tubes. There isn't enough power to make all this stuff go at once at max capacity. In the best circumstances the user can operate 3 of these things at 1/3rd power, so they could go in at a third of their max speed and fire their weapons at 1/3rd of their fire power while shooting the launch tubes. Or they could operate the shield and fly around (there isn't enough power with the shield to fire the weapon systems), basically, there just isn't enough power to do everything at once.
  • Length change out: Swapping mounts on the Basilisk takes hours and a mechanic. The user cannot just change out its weapons mid battle or whatever, so they should pick beforehand what they are going to use and stick with it.
  • Because you can... doesn't mean you should: Hey, if you wanna shove flack cannons on this or six lasers, we can't stop you--and we won't. Just because you can make some mount load outs happen doesn't mean they are optimal for combat, and we won't be liable for your mixing and sharing!
DESCRIPTION
Basilisk_War_Droid.jpg
In the old days of massive Mandalorian glory, the Basilisk Droids helped them dominate the battle field. At RMIA we are all about heritage and making an old thing new. Here we present to you the Basilisk Mk 2.

Drawing off the old designs we decided that it would be best to give the user total autonomy over their Basilisk's weapon load-out. They can change it to whatever they need prior to the battle, however RMIA does offer a few prefrab loadouts to help with their ideas and combat orientation. This droid is designed to be your go-to for all things in combat.

It makes a perfect wing man, a perfect firing squad mate, and an ideal house pet. The processor is designed with absolute loyalty to the owner, some Basilisk were even reported to carry their wounded owners across hundreds of miles of dangerous terrain, taking heavy fire to save them. They respond to verbal commands, and thanks to their built in comm unit they are able to receive them from great distances. They are able to link into the helmet of a user, feeding live info from its sensors and even a visual feed if you have time to watch. This works great in tandem with giving orders if you want your Basilisk to scout ahead for you or something.

It has enough power to go for a full 24 hours before need a recharge, of course, in ideal situations that is the case. Then it recharges for 1 hour before carrying onward.

These droids are able to walk on four to six legs or fly, depending on the need of the user. The maximum flight speed of this droid is about 80 km/hour (49 mph), not as fast as a swoop, but a fair speed for most land vehicles. When walking the maximum speed is about 9 km/hour (6 mph, double the average running speed of a human).

In the terms of carrying capacity, its max is 900 lbs (408 kg) and that is it, including rider with armor and stuff. So if the user wants to strap their weapons on the back of the Basilisk, they can.

All in all, this is just intended to be an update on an old droid that is pretty iconic.
