Designed a a heavily defended cargo frigate to traverse dangerous space, the Barri-class if quiet possible the most heavily defended freighter in operation as far as hull and shielding are concerned. The Barri is a tough freighter, being fitted with reinforced framing and hull plating, a military grade shield, and ionic shields. The heavy vessel also has particle cannon turrets to deter most small time pirates. The ship is highly customizable, and the ionic shields make her hard to stop.
On the flip side, these vessels are sluggish and still fairly lightly armed for its size. More well armed pirates are also attracted to them. Even with these things, the freighter is still an incredibly tough ship, ready to quickly move in with it's cargo. The ruggedness has also lead to combat modification being made by CST, allowing the frigate to be an effective combat ship.
CLASSIFIED: Combat modifications and the rugged hull have allowed these ships to be "Pirated" by rebel forces and quickly turned into combat ready ships by storing the modifications in the cargo hull. Various cells have been contacted, and these craft, along with the Neebray-class, have been prepped to deliver them to rebels and freedom fighters around the galaxy.
