  • Links: N/A
PHYSICAL INFORMATION
  • Age: Early 50s
  • Force Sensitivity: NFU
  • Species: Human
  • Appearance: A huge stocky man, standing about 6'5" with greying light brown hair, kept short to the top of his head and slicked back, as well as a bushy beard.
SOCIAL INFORMATION
  • Name: Bannavar Langstrom
  • Loyalties: Imperial Security Bureau of the Dark Empire
  • Wealth: Comfortable. Langstrom earns a comfortable salary as a bureau chief. Though he is far from wealthy, he is well taken care of as a veteran of the Empire.
  • Notable Possessions: N/A
  • Skills:
    • Spymaster
    • Team leader
    • Bruiser
  • Languages:
    • Imperial Standard Basic (Native ability)
    • Sy Bisti (Professional working ability)
    • Cheunh (Fundamental ability)
  • Personality: Langstrom is a rare sight among the chiefs of the ISB as a man content with his lot in life. As a veteran agent serving since the New Imperial Order, he has worked long and hard to transcend his life as a Bureau bruiser and adopt a comfortable position at the top. He is generally friendly and approachable to his subordinates and believes the best way to train new agents is to foster comradery instead of relentless competition to get to the top. This outlook is not fondly looked upon by the Sith, but his excellent track record as a bureau chief speaks for his value as a continued asset.
COMBAT INFORMATION
  • Weapon of Choice: ISB issued service weapons, fists
  • Combat Function: Langstrom spent most of his career as an enforcer, physically intimidating or restraining Bureau targets with his imposing size. Even in his middle age, he could no doubt perform in a physical confrontation, and his size might even allow him to take a blaster shot or two without immediately keeling over.
Strengths:
  • Large Size: Standing half a foot taller than the average human, Langstrom exhibits imposing stature
  • Physical Strength: Coupled with his height, his build is natural hale even with advancing age.
  • Encouraging Leader: Langstrom's subordinates follow him not only because they have to, but because his style of team-based leadership and hands on mentorship inspires them to want to.
Weaknesses:
  • Office-bound: Partly by his position, mostly by his choice, Chief Langstrom is rarely out of his office. After a whirlwind lifetime of serving the ISB, he prefers to take it easy practically always.
  • Workplace Pariah: In conjunction with his laid back attitude, he is frequently at odds with those in the Bureau who seek relentless advancement of their own power, leading to an ostracization by fellow ISB chiefs, especially those highly favoured by the new Sith regime.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION

Langstrom was born on the Sith-Imperial world of Entralla, only a child when the Imperial Civil War broke out and his homeworld was taken as one of the first by the New Imperial Order in their Braxant Campaign.

Bannavar was a rough youth, a misfit and a delinquent raising hell at home while his father was off fighting in the war. When he turned 18, to avoid going to prison, he was given the choice of joining the military. Pressured by his veteran father and his mother, at wits end with him, he joined the Imperial military. Against expectations he succeeded well in the infantry, both for his bravery and his ability as a heavy weapons operator.

When he suffered a wounded leg during the Great Battle of Coruscant, he was put out of service. Despite this, the Imperial Security Bureau targeted him as a potential agent, not working on the front lines, but using his skills as a bruiser and enforcer for the intelligence community instead.

Under the Bureau he became a feared enforcer, someone you did not want to mess with, who could squeeze information, sometimes literally, from targets like juicing a fruit.

As the years went on and turned to decades, and the Empire enjoyed tenuous peace before its collapse into warlordism, Langstrom rose through the ranks to become a Chief of the Bureau. He enjoyed the peace. Yet, as the Empire fractured he struggled to maintain it, doing what he could to promote loyalty among his agents.

When the ISB inevitably fractured to support a multitude of contending warlords across Imperial space, Langstrom threw his weight behind the rump state of Ignacious Korvan, which would go on to amass great influence and become the Dark Empire under Darth Solipsis.

It was in his time supporting Korvan that he met the young Kazian Blackwood, a cadet being groomed for service in the ISB. Though their shared background as military sons was common in the Empire, Langstrom took a liking to cadet Blackwood because the young man was making something of himself sooner than he had, something he'd always regretted. Langstrom mentored Blackwood and supported his rise through the academy, eventually securing him a valuable placement in COMPFORCE for a couple years.

As Korvan's government grew in power over the other warlords, much of COMPNOR would begin to consolidate under it. When Blackwood's service with COMPFORCE ended, Langstrom brought him to the Bureau as an agent.

With the Sith Order's takeover of the Imperial government and reorganization of COMPNOR as the OIT, Bannavar keeps a low profile, intent on keeping his position and retiring happily one day. He continues to be a confidante of Kazian Blackwood, and always has his eye out for other impressive agents to bring into the fold.
