Tldr; Fabulously wealthy corpo party boy's mom buys him a Senate seat. Will probably be found rolled up in a carpet in a dumpster within a few years.

Balthus Larr is the second son of Eduina Larr, founder and CEO of Larr Shipping & Transport. As the the chief company handling the importing and exporting of goods to, from, and within Denon, LST is deeply in the pocket of DireX and generally supports policies of a corporatist nature. Eager to keep their lucrative monopoly going, LST is quick to swallow up any smaller shipping companies, or stamp them into the dust and then acquire their carcass for pennies on the credit. Recently, LST has begun to dabble in personal luxury transport vehicles, which are currently limited to the extremely wealthy.

With his older brother Giles poised to succeed their mother as the head of LST, Balthus has spent the first twenty-something years of his life cultivating a particular lifestyle for himself. Top shelf booze, high quality spice, beautiful women and luxury goods are what he is accustomed to, and Balthus doesn't see any point in giving up his lavish ways in order to elevate the common man. He won't shy away from stepping on the backs of the poor and unfortunate in order to make a few more credits.

Balthus doesn't have any grand designs for power and change, which made him the perfect candidate for DireX to support in Denon's latest senatorial election. While Balthus could care less if he's elected—traveling to and from Coruscant to sit in a bunch of boring meetings sounds like a drag—he wants to preserve his lifestyle, and the best way to do that is to keep the corporatists in control of Denon.

He also sends private financial support to certain powerful gangs on Denon to crush his competition and definitely isn't above calling out a hit or two on someone particularly troublesome.
