DESCRIPTION
The Ballista is a small, fast and agile craft. Fitting more then role of an interceptor than an attack fighter. Built from durasteel with stronger phrik material surrounding the transparisteel cockpit and engine mounts. When taking several damage, the durasteel will break away first, leaving the cockpit intact to aid the pilots survival and rescue. Engines that are critically damaged will blast the durasteel away first, allowing the blast to be funneled by the stronger phrik steel away from the cockpit.

A fast an agile craft with a modest amount of firepower. This vessel was designed to not only aid the Arsenian people against pirates, but also to become the first starfighter for their navy. Having only recently joined the galaxy at large, the Arsenians had no true fighter in its makeshift fleet of captured pirate vessels. The addition of the Ballista was gave the Arsenians an edge against the raiders that threatened their homeworld. With its high speeds and and maneuverability, the Ballista is capable of flying circles around most fighters. Which is exactly what the Arsenians needed to defend themselves.
