Bakura, What A Treat(y)

Kay-Larr

Sphaera Tea Company Owner
Bakura. It was Kay's home away from home and as it was in neutral space, it was a good place to host meetings. Some were private, some were public, but all were important in their own way.

Today's meeting was taking place on the edge of a small port city called Cokwitlaam. There was ample space on the landing pads for incoming vessels and the hall in which the meeting was to be held was prepared. A half dozen Republic guard secured the perimeter, both inside and out. With the Galaxy in such turmoil, she just had to be sure that she thought of almost every scenario. Her assistant [member="Fixx Kearney"] was notified of the meeting. Whether or not he would attend was something she'd find out later.

Word was also sent out to the one that requested this meeting, [member="Sanya Val Lerium"]. Kay had to play her part as a Senator today, not the part of a slave liberator. So she dressed the part, however her satchel was in it's usual place over her shoulder. Patiently she waited, leaning against the meeting table. There were drinks and refreshments on the side of the room. But as always she had a cup of tea in her hands from which she sipped.

Hopefully this meeting would turn out successful.

Sanya didn't know much of this world nor the person she was meeting other than the woman was a diplomat representing the republic. All the meeting details had been planned out with a room and permits for a landing pad close to the place. She of course had to book out the landpad in advance but planning ahead always kept things more simple. As her freighter swooped in towards the planet bearing down to it's surface she took in its landscape. It wasn't a large city but many of the central buildings towered up high above the rest all with its distinct shape and character.

Soon the ship would be flying with the traffic taking up a lot of space and others having yo move out the way. Although she was at the slowest speed she could to give the other pilots the correct time to respond. If she was the one to start swirving left right up and down her ship would probably cause more of a hazard. Coming up to the landing pad she slowed the ship down even more and lowering the landing gear as the ship came to a hault and gentaly dropping onto the pad. Sanya cut the engines off sending a whimmm sound throughout the ship.

Standing up she moved through the ship and to the left hallway to the captain quarters to put on her black dress and put her sabers in her handbag. Not a usual place to put them but they didn't look so good dangling from her most elegant attire. Of course like most force users it was normal to have them at all times and at hand. After she had finished up her make up and used a lumen scented perfume, Sanya began to make her way to the meeting to where she would meet this woman.

Ah, Bakura, Ashler had heard things about this place, and they were true. The planet was a nice change of environment compared to the busy life of Coruscant. Still, there was the excitement that each day was a new adventure waiting to happen on Coruscant, this place seemed too peaceful for Ashler to ever want to live here. Maybe, his next vacation he would visit. This was also the place of Lady Kay's 'domain' as Ashler would call it in his head. Manners would matter greatly here.

Wearing a black suit, and a red tie, the man adjusted it once, then again as he awaited at the desk area, waiting for the second lady who came with a proposal. Ashler more or so, wanted to watch than anything else. Being in politics one day was his goal, and he was lucky enough that the Senator allowed him to attend this meeting.

He tapped his fingers on the desk, his yellow eyes glowed with the light, and his skin seemed to beam along with it. Today, he kept his long white hair up in a pony tail. Sometimes, long hair got in the way. He took in a deep breath. There was a smell in the air that made Ashler want to drool, but he had to keep his composure. He rolled his shoulders, and removed his hand from the desk, placing both hands behind his back.

Ah, the lives of mortals.

Kay was hardly the best example for a Senator. She was reckless, stubborn and spent most of her time in Cartel space. But the planet Commenor that she represented was still doing well with the many trade contracts that she helped to create. So at least she did something to benefit the Republic.

She had another sip of her tea and was glad to have shrunk down her Force signature to that of a small tree nut. She had heard very little of the Black Rose organization, so part of this meeting was to find out more. Or at least find out more of what they wanted her to know. Everyone had their secrets and she was no different.

Kay was soon informed by one of the guards that a ship had arrived. She stood up and placed her tea cup on the table, turning to [member="Ashler"] briefly. "Showtime." She then smiled and bowed her head to [member="Sanya Val Lerium"] as she stepped inside the meeting room. "Welcome to Bakura. I trust that you had a safe journey?"

As Sanya walked into the room she would bow and smile at the woman. "Thank you and yes it was a straight forward flight. I'm Sanya by the way I wasn't informed of your name so I apologize" She would walk around and take a seat at the table and pulled her dress down a little at the bottom as she sat. "Its quite a bit of security you have here. Seems to have bolstered since I left the Jedi. How are things going with the republic, I heard about the attack on contuurm. The news saddened me when I found out. I may not be apart of the republic but the people in it are still important to me." after all the Order of the black rose is similar in the aspect that civilians need protecting from horrors committed by those who have very little respect for life. Everyone has a right to live in safety and have s full long life. She would glimpse at the other person also there with a smile then look back to the woman. "So how would you like to start this? I'm not good at the whole politics scenario but as the face it's something I need to learn fast."

Ashler watched as their visitor walked in, the eyes of a predator locked onto it's prey none the less. She was much smaller than him, but part of a group that had done nasty things, and amazing things. Ashler looked at this stuff with an open mind, and chose not to discriminate others by their pasts, and actions, for people were always full of surprises.

He bowed slowly, and then straightened himself back to full height.

Silky words caressed his ears to listen, and brought a smile to his face, but the tone certainly showed the lack of political experience. That was okay. Ashler's mouth opened, "Choose your words wisely, and be bold. We are hear to listen, simply speak, Miss Lerium." His voice came out deep, and smooth, but also gentle. Such was that of a predator.

Kay had no expectations of what the lady would look like, so there was little surprise there. She sat herself next to [member="Ashler de Dedhart"] and reached for her tea cup, gripped it and slid the cup towards herself. She then cradled it in her hand and brought her datapad out from her satchel with her other hand, placing it on the table.

"My name is Kay. Pleased to meet you, Sanya. This is Ashler."

As [member="Sanya Val Lerium"] spoke of the attack on Contuurm, she only nodded. "The security is just for my own protection. There have been quite a few trying to cash in on my bounties as of late, and after my capture and release by the Cartel, I have been advised to take such precautions."

Kay sipped her tea. "The way this works is we flesh out the start of an agreement. We then take it to our respected leaders and should they like what we have worked out, then a final draft is created and signed. If it's not accepted, then we find out why and whether or not we should start over with new terms or put it on the backburner for another time. Sometimes these things are pushed quickly and other times they are not."

Sanya smiled slightly at the advice although she was one already to think before she said anything. "Im one to think before I speak anyway. Its just I never really understood politics. Anyhow it's a pleasure to meet you both." After the amount of political meetings she'd escorted people too and watched most of the time it was just people throwing words at each other and they understood.

Although when the woman explained it like a contract it made sense. It was all in the offer and accept or deny then a new offer till it's decided. "Well you are currently speaking to the head of the Order of the Black Rose so that cuts down sometime on this end. also I'm sure we can come to a fair agreement as I'm the reasonable type of person. Greed never did good to anyone and we don't exist to control but to offer freedom in ways that many couldn't achieve." Sanya would lean over to get a glass and a jug of water then poured some. It must have just came out of the fridge as it was cold and left condensation on the outside of the glass. Putting the jug back in place she would take a sip of the water and place the glass back onto the table. "So would you like to do the first set of offers? Or would you like me too?." Sanya asked looking directly at the woman.

Kay nodded as she listened and started taking a few notes on her observations. Normally she didn't like being in these types of situations where she knew so little, yet had to conduct official business. But such was life and it served her right for being away from Republic space so much.

"Well for starters, I know so little about your Order besides a couple of rumours about Sith sorcery and viruses. If you could please tell me about your organization, I'd greatly appreciate it."

Sanya nodded with a smile. "Sure." She took a another sip of water before she continued to speak. It was cold still and rather refreshing. Putting the glass back Sanya would clear her throat a little. "When the covenant started out it was mostly sith that had been apart of it and under the one sighs rule. At that time I had no knowledge of them either until I had found out that the woman I had deep feelings for was captured and turned into a spices called croa. For me it started on taris where I followed a known sith and my soon to be wife. Ill say all this part in brief as it's not much to do with the order but how I came to know of them. During my time there I had got taken hostage but one of the gangs in the lower levels of the city and my presents know about. I had got seriously injured but honestly I had lost all will to live other than camellia that I felt just like a ghost too. The Jedi already made me feel like I wasn't of use and often shunned and ignored, but camellia spoke up and asked the sith to save my life in which she did. Later on as we all left I got took in to what was the Covenant of The Black rose and I in away turned myself into a croa not by force but a simple kiss, one I don't regret. I felt uncomfortable and my hate for the one sith was strong but I didn't let it lead me and I had controls over such base emotion. But those people wasn't the same as sith, they where different. In fact it became clear that they also didn't like the sith and their ways. That lead them to denouncing any allegiance with them and the former leader telling the dark lord to kark off. Those that where the former members of the one sith had been branded as traitor's although that was and still is a title the hold with pride. Over the months many of them followed a new path where ruling wasn't a thing but protecting as many as we could from tyranny and giving people a better life that they deserved. Although before these changes we did come to a planet that we will still not disclose the location of but on our arrival we immediately started getting attack by some of the city's locals. Under my orders no one was to be killed but instead given a second chance as croa like myself and camellia. Not everyone had been turned to make that clear just the people attacking us by the order of the former king that later on transitioned into croa by myself and camellia. After looking through all the files and such I found out the man was corrupted and greedy. Deaths where high taxes where extortionate and the lower levels of this city in almost ruins. As soon as I'd taken charge using funds from my company and others of the black rose helping we turned that city around. New clean water systems had been put in for the lower levels, taxes dropped with new things on their market for credits to consistently flow bringing up the economy. People there now are happy and actually like the croa there as the ones who where turned was a big cause to the crime. After this we ventures out a little expanding our influence and those planets now also have better economy and a diplomatic ties with each other that was never in place before."

Sanya stopped for a second. "I'm sorry if I'm just rambling a little here." She would smile again and take another sip before putting the glass back. "During this adventure many of the members changed and so did the name of our society to something that didn't sound as well evil. We are not evil, they where at the beginning but not any longer. The people of the black rose only wants two things peace and democracy and the end of the one sighs tyranny and injustice. I will admit many are still trying redeem themselves for the horrors they've committed but it's a start."

That was a lot of information. As [member="Sanya Val Lerium"] spoke, Kay took down some notes. She could've recorded it, but preferred this method instead. Or she could have had [member="Ashler de Dedhart"] do it, but that wasn't to his benefit.

Some of what Sanya had spoken about caused her to raise a brow, most especially the mention of croa. She had no idea what that was. Perhaps it was the virus that others were talking about.

"Forgive my ignorance, but what is croa? Could you describe it for me, please?"

With a smile Sanya wasn't sure how to put it other than the basics. "Well we are an asexual species, humanoid in appearance other than the distinct features of feline tail, ears, teath and claws. All of the croa are female and also can pass on the core genome to other recipients through saliva or blood. With in a short period, it's different for everyone, their body's will under go a rapid like puberty and forum the ears, tail and such. If a male is to be given the genome he will lose the appendages and that will develop into a females as well. I've heard the rumor's about our species but they aren't full truths. Its been the tiny little aspect that have changed by each passing person. The croa are not the threat they have been made out to be." In sense it was the nicest way to put it and without going into detail of every, because well she didn't. It confused Sanya why people spoke of her and the croa as a virus. In a way it was a little offensive but they didn't understand and was all rumors that had been twisted over and over.

Again Kay took more notes. She could see why some would call it a virus as it was so easily transmitted, but if some people wanted the change into something else, then who was she to judge?

"Thank you. It is only natural for people to fear what they don't understand. Which is why I ask questions, regardless of how stupid they might be."

Now it was time to start to work on the benchmark for an agreement to take to her superiors. "What region of the Galaxy do you claim? Is it any part of the One Sith territory? Or do you reign over some parts of what was once in neutral space?"

Sanya nodded as she took yet another sip of water. "No question is stupid I guess, and I understand others do let things go over the tops of their heads." It wasn't really a question she personally had to answer and actually once asked herself. In that sense made it a lot easier to understand why the question was asked.

Although the next question came about and it was one more straight forward. The area they have slowly been making better and normally the places worse off. "We have set up as far away from the one sith as possible in the far reaches of the outer rim. But we do have a clear shot to them for small attacks without going through anyone else's territory. But those who had left the one sith to join us have targets painted on their backs more than a Jedi as they where branded as traitor's. Although right now I have the biggest target. Doesn't stop me wanting to cripple their society and liberate the worlds in tyranny."

Ashler, who had been listening this whole with a curious ear, decided it was time to butt in. The woman talked, a lot, it was different to see someone who rambled on, and on, but made clear points. It was good. Maybe fear, or stress caused her to talk so much. He smiled to himself.

"If I may cut in for a second. Mrs. Lerium, small attacks will do little but piss off the Sith."

Ashler looked at Lady Kay, then back at the guest before them. He took in a deep breath, smelling the fragrance both Kay, and the darksider gave off. It certainly was compelling to feed, but he did not let this reverse his goal here.

"We both know the senate, and the Jedi will refuse to support such alliances between you, and us. I think, what the better deal here is, how do we work together without getting into each other's ways? How can we coordinate attacks without an alliance, if one can not be made in the end. I am a very open minded man, you see, I look at problems outside the box, and try to make as many possible solutions as possible. "

Kay looked to [member="Ashler de Dedhart"] and then to [member="Sanya Val Lerium"] once again. "Ashler does have a point. We will have to try to think of many alternatives. Especially as some are not as trusting of your species. Though I'm sure that there are members of your Order that are equally mistrusting of the Republic."

Sanya knew it would but irritate them. In fact it was a fun though making them have to look on more sides than one. "Well my first and up most priority is the safety of the people. That both the black rose and the republic have in common. I have scheduled a meeting with Covus Raff at a later date to talk about Jedi support too and we've know each other for a very very long time. But trust from my side will not be a problem. They have been well informed that the black rose is branching out to those that can be trusted, and that is the republic and the Jedi. I understand that yes darksiders are not looked upon so well. I just need the chance to prove that what spectrum of the force is just well meaningless. The force is one entity to me there is no light or dark side just those who use the ability for good or evil."

Leaning back in the chair Sanya gave out a small quiet sigh. "On my end I'm willing to do anything it takes for this alliance to work. But I need to know what it will take as long as it doesn't cause my people and the citizens of the black rose any harm." She still remembers the Jedi code like it was wrote on every surface. There is no passion, there is serenity. But those people who have placed their faith in her she was passionate about, the one she loved she was also very passionate about. Those passions give her serenity. There is no chaos in the ranks of the black rose, but with the chaos feeding in from everywhere else harmony is just but a pin point lost in the far depths of space. Sometimes things like peace is worth finding even if it's in the middle ground. Thats all she wants for her people to help those who can fight and keep those safe who cannot. Sanya would die for the people before harm came to them.

Hmmm. It seems that they both have similar expectations. And similar limitations. "Perhaps what we could look for is a mutual understanding if an alliance isn't possible at this time. We each keep out of eachother's region of space unless there is a dire need. Then no one would have to worry about either side harming the other. And should help be required, then we can each send a representative or a message through the holonet. It might not be ideal, but it's at least something."

Ashler, as he stopped to look out the window as Kay spoke about a way to keep some form of peace between the two, a thought came to mind.
"I shall keep communication between the two groups Kay. I believe you feel no ill will towards the Roses, but you have a reputation that needed not be tarnished from innocent meetings from the other Senators. How does that sound to the two of you? I shall be your middle man?"
He turned to look at the two and clasped his hands behind his back with a feint smile. "I have no reputation to blacken, least none that isn't already black."

Kay furrowed her brows as she pondered on Ashler's proposal. He was more of a politician than he had thought. He was maybe even better than herself. At least in strategic thinking. She was never really good at that. It always was more of something that her late husband would do for them. It was moments like this and when planning battles that she missed him all the more.

She refocused her attention on the task at hand and nodded to Ashler. "I'd agree to that. Though I don't quite care about my reputation, other Senators do, as well as the Prime Minister. I....owe it to them to try to keep out of trouble and not seem to put them in danger." Her plans always had a habit of backfiring and she didn't know why. But at least she always put herself in the situation that when her plans backfire, she'd be the one to take the fall and suffer the most.
