The Pykes had always been heavily involved with the Spice Mines of Kessel. Their influence had been respected by all throughout the Galaxy, even the mighty Jedi of the ancient Republic knew not to interfere in their deals. However, with time their role in the galaxy faded until they were simply an obscure group of criminals in charge of a few spice mines on Kessel. They were content with this role, their powerful Syndicate had largely been diminished in size after the collapse of civilisation inside the galaxy and the violent political climate that followed was not conducive to any attempts to reestablish it.

From their ancient world's temples, however, emerged a Prophet. A man whose hunger for power matched his will to rule. This prophet established himself as the despot of the ruined Pyke Syndicate on Oba Diah with plans to restore their influence within the galaxy. Although his plans are grand, the Syndicate is a mere shadow of its past self and the task of rebuilding it will be very demanding, indeed. Yet the people have heard the Prophet's word. They listened to his vision and have come to share it. Now the fate of the Syndicate lies within their hands.

  • A Vision of Might: Power and might are qualities strived for by all, in one form or the other. Most commonly it is physical, often it is spiritual, and many also seek both. The majority of beings within the Galaxy find theirs and are contented. They do not realise that which they have found is merely a fraction of the shadow of true power. They lack the Ambition to reach higher, to not settle down when they have found the first sign of what they seek. Eios is not one of those, his Ambition is great and it has brought him far already. Even with an entire Syndicate under his control, he still seeks more.
  • A Vision of Wealth: Credits are the true driving force behind the Galaxy. Their flow dictates which events are allowed to occur and which are not. Amassing great wealth grants great power over the Galaxy and those who inhabit it. However, far too many are deluded by greed, they seek the credit for the credit's sake, they fail to understand its finer uses. Eios has long since cast off the blindfold of greed and replaced it with wisdom. He has amassed the wealth of the Syndicate as a tool to be used to further his plans, not to satisfy a primal hunger for credits.
  • A Vision of Unity: A divided Empire is easily conquered. This is a truth that Eios does not take lightly. His efforts to consolidate more power could break apart in mere moments if his Syndicate was allowed to fracture and split. This is why he has made himself the guiding voice that all listen to and follow. All of his followers are instruments of his will and obey his word. He inspires loyalty not just through fear, but through reward and generosity. Those who serve him serve him entirely, or they are enemies. It is his will that drives the Syndicate's growth and it is through his will that it stays united.

  • A Vision of Frailty: Eios' has amassed great power. He commands a wide array of warriors from many walks of life, he possesses great wealth and has devoted followers. However, he himself is not a powerful warrior. While not really a weakness (in his mind at least; the great Prophet is invincible after all), a dependency on others like this is still something that can be exploited by anyone with martial prowess on their side. While he's not particularly weak physically, his battlefield is not that of swords and blasters and it shows.
  • A Vision of Malice: The position at the head of an inter-system Syndicate is one of great prestige, but it only comes through widescale application of crime and the breaking of basic sentient rights. While many turn a blind eye to the circumstances through which the Syndicate thrives, there are those who would seek to bring Eios and his followers to justice for their crimes against countless innocents. This complicates many matters and forces the Syndicate to operate through the avenues of the Underworld and takes away the ability for Eios to move freely on many a world.
  • A Vision of Calamity: Oba Diah burns. The illustrious Syndicate of Pykes is no longer. Ill-minded marauders and pirates roam the obsidian spires, taking all they can sell on the black markets. The holy temple burns. It sits empty atop the black mountain, robbed of all artefacts and devoid of life. A horrifying vision, a nightmare haunting Eios' nights. The prevention of this occurrence is the driving force behind his actions, an obsession that has ingrained a deep sense of paranoia and distrust within his mind.

Cross-legged, hands folded and resting on his legs, sitting upright, face covered by a mask which has two tubes run along the length of his torso and into some sort of device resting in his lap. Robes made of precious white cloth, gloves of fine grey silk, and a dark silver mask cover his form, leaving no skin exposed. This is the image that is most commonly associated with the Pyke known as Bael Eios, as those who seek an audience with the leader are greeted with precisely this image. Oftentimes he does not even walk himself, rather resting cross-legged upon a hoverchair's platform or the back of a rare animal species.

Yet sometimes he comes to others as an equal, walking rather than being carried. His limbs are slightly longer than those of humans, though this fact is often hidden by the long robes he wears. He stands taller than your average human too, though this is a little-known fact. When standing the device is attached to a white belt, on his left hip. It's a fist-sized device with several tubes running along the length of the device.

Eios is defined by an indomitable will, a hunger for power, and a willingness to use it in whatever way will further the Syndicate's goals by any means necessary. His determination to increase the wealth influence of his Syndicates and by extension the Pykes is unshakable, sustained by a vision he received at a young age. The goal of his efforts is not personal gain, it is the reestablishment of the Pyke's role within the Galaxy and with it the guarantee of a safe future for the people of Oba Diah that is free of danger and servitude.

An organisation like the Syndicate requires a wise ruler and Eios has learned much during his early years, preparing himself to lead his people since a very early age. He has become a benevolent, but fair ruler, valuing absolute loyalty from his subordinates above all else. To this end, he has come to reward displays of loyalty, improvement, and merit generously while punishing disobedience, failure, and corruption harshly. By consistently acting to promote the values he deems as positive while eradicating those deemed detrimental, he has created a following of very loyal and competent underlings and laid the foundation of a powerful Syndicate.

As great as his capability for compassion is, it is matched by the level of cruelty he can enact. His vision does not involve a peaceful future, but one where the Syndicate, and the Pykes, prospers. For this reason, he cares little for moral doctrines or ethical concerns when putting his plans into motion. He is willing to do almost anything to bring himself closer to the future he envisions.

His will is the will of the Syndicate. Its power structure and organisation is purposely designed in a way that makes Eios central to it functioning. He is the Syndicate and he views it that way as well. While many may call this a bloated sense of self-importance, to him it is entirely out of necessity. To lead the Syndicate to a better future it takes a Pyke of considerable ambition and willpower and only he possesses enough of both to see it done.
