Lyth Meran

Bullet with Butterfly wings.
the image came in to Lyth's mind like a built.
she had to sketch her idea.
whatshe sketched was a beast intended to fight on a psychological level as a physical one.

" Deran Deran come in here. " she yelled
showing her mechanic clan sister the sketch.
" Not in our skill level. " Deran Meran said shrigging.

Kami walked in and looked at the sketch
" is that a droid Togorian?" she asked
" nah im thinking Mech suit. armed ATST." her fairy sister said looking up from the flimsy.
" Tell her we can't build this thing." the mechanic Deran asked kami.
" let me go make a few calls it has merit " she said heading off trying to think of parts and materials they would need.

Matsu had received a call, a strange one but Sasori and by extension its umbrella of companies were able to go through on a number of things that were being developed for themselves. Massive walkers were a fun thing that they were looking to work on and Saotome could work with them to design it as she was moving to go and join them. Bringing some of her engineers that would be helping as well as an assortment of materials they might be able to make work. There were some pieces of equipment they wanted to work on and testing some of the early stages for development wiht their own walkers they had planned. Less dangerous looking but more developed. THey arrived in the ship to come and meet the others while the jedi master bowed her head in greeting. "Thank you for this chance to make something fun."

" this is going to be fun if anything."
she sent out scav teams for material and waited for the calls

Purpose: Responding to encrypted correspondence

*Vance considered the "invitation" once more. It was an encrypted file, the key arriving several minutes after via holonet message. Once Vance had implemented the encryption key, the file resolved itself, and Vance had found himself staring at a rather-fascinating example of a possible walker design. That, coupled with the name of Meran Mechanics, was enough to send Vance's mind soaring. He had come across several mentions of their work out in the Asop system, how a certain war-torn debris field made for an excellent source of salvaged materials, thereby cutting their production costs by over a third in the last quarter. And now, CNY was receiving an invitation - of sorts - to help in the development of this walker design. It was a heavy combat mech, to be sure. Vance saw several ways that he might be able to aid in the design process, and so, he was attempting to formulate an idea of how to pitch this design to his father.*

*After a few hours of consideration, the legal team had a contract proposal written up. CNY's involvement would consist of infrastructure design; which would cover most of the movement specs, internal hardware, armor design, and possibly the software control cluster. Vance was already in the process of developing and testing one such control cluster - and this particular "excursion" would be the perfect opportunity to perform the final series of tests necessary to push it out of the testing phase and into production. He would pitch the idea to Meran Mechanics, and see if they might wish to use it for this particular project. The "Lexatronic Omni-Brain Operating System" - or, just "L.O.B.O.S." for short. It seemed fitting, considering the design of the war walker he saw before him. He was currently in the process of testing the OS on his own ship, the Gravitas. If it could handle complexities such as astral navigation, the parameters for a walker would be simplistic by comparison, surely. Of course, if they would tie the L.O.B.O.S. into the targeting systems, that extra computational power would come in very handy. Regardless, Vance was now in the process of finalizing the details of the contract. He would send it, along with his response to the invitation. The overall premise of the contract would be to include CNY in all stages of development, allow them to construct a working prototype, and - should the project push through to completion - be given subsidies from the sales of the walker quarterly. It seemed to be a standard contract, but he'd let them decide if it was worth allowing CNY to participate in this project.*

*As he sat behind his desk, looking out the transparisteel window to his right at the large hangar he had been given authority over, he pulled up his communications terminal to contact Meran Mechanics.*

:: Good afternoon from Carratos. My name is Vance Caydence of Caydence Naval Yards. I have received your invitation to participate in project "Bad Moon Rising". We here at CNY would like to propose a contract for your consideration. You would be receiving our resources, including development materials and possible designs for implementation, and I would be willing to come and personally take part in the project's development. We, in return, would ask to be included in the success of the project by way of name and compensation. It would be considered a joint venture between our companies, and I believe the partnership will benefit us both. Included with this transmission is our contract proposal, which is standard for CNY's involvement, and a sample of what we can bring to the table. It's basically just a project demo of our developing operating system, but I believe it could help your project immensely. The contract is negotiable - within reason, of course. Please respond with either a counter-offer or in the affirmative with contract acceptance, and I will begin preparations to meet you in the Asop system shortly thereafter. Thank you for your time, and I look forward to hearing from you soon. ::

*The transmission ended, Vance began work straight away on finalizing the L.O.B.O.S. hardware/software interface. He didn't imagine that he would be completing the omni-brain so soon, but, this opportunity was now here to push his time-table forward. And that could not be ignored.*

Matsu was moving over some of the things that they had been doing, the ideas for what they could do when she brought up her forearm datapad with a nod of her head to go over materials. "So what do you want to make these walkers out of?" There were a number of things that they would be able to work with on some of the other things. Wanting to give a lot of the finer attentions to the details that they were setting up until the materials they were trying to get would be able to arrive and provide hopefully some new ideas. "My mining interests should be able to get whatever materials you need if it comes to it and the AI's we have developed are able to run simulations."

To be honest the responses were more than Kami expected.
"Skev these guys are going to expect a high tire company not this hovel. " she joked.
she sent a few more messeges explaining a flightpath avoiding the debris and explaining a reward for taking part in the project that of a custom droid.
the last part was Lyth's idea bbecause she claimed to have and she quoted " a few wild and crazy ideas ."

She was working on it and with the flightpath directed that they were able to do when she went over a couple of the things. Raising a small eyebrow but Matsu brought out what she was working on and the small microthrusters that would be repulsor tech could come in handy for droids to give it possibly some extra movement speed. She was also testing it for her own projects as there were some plans to this, some wild out there ideas that went with the different things she was making to provide micro repulsor thrusters onto a heavier droid or armored frame that pushed it forward and gave it some more speed for a few moments until she saw the area where she was set to arrive with Harmony at her side.

Kami Made sure the place was at least decent There were cookies and punch by the door.
there were plenty off snacks and beer.
they had the basic frame was semi complete it was a skeleton nothing more.

*The details had been flushed out even further. Vance now had a heading to go forward with. Several possible flight paths through the debris field surrounding - what looked to be - Meran Mechanics' ever-expanding space station and orbital dry-docks. They had received his contract proposal, and Vance supposed that they would likely need more time to go over the finer points of the agreement before making a decision. From Carratos to the Kathol Outback, the journey would likely take around a week for him. He would need to prepare to leave immediately, if he had any hopes of getting there before the intensive phases of development were meant to begin. He had already placed an order with his requisitions department to get his ship loaded up with the highest-quality materials he could manage to get his hands on: cargo cases with sheets of quadranium alloy weighing in at over a few tons, around seven tons of high-grade durasteel, a few crates of capital-grade transparisteel, all necessary components for the computerized hardware, several spools of high-grade wire and fiber-optic cabling, and four crates of pre-fabricated Series I-III hydraulics that Vance thought would come in handy. He also had most of his Project L.O.B.O.S. hardware already on-board the Gravitas, his Barloz-class freighter that would soon be housing the rest of the aforementioned materials. There were several sets of the droid brains in Vance's workshop area inside the vessel. It was where the engineer had developed the L.O.B.O.S. over the past few months, his own personal masterpiece; designed in order to make Vance's life easy when it came to piloting this archaic vessel.*

*In only a few hours, Vance had the Gravitas loaded for the trip. He checked over the flight data again, making sure that he was utilizing the best hyperspace routes and optimizing his travel time. Once everything was set, he closed all of the loading bay doors and secured the cargo hold. In his usual tone, he spoke aloud to the ship's systems.*

"Good morning, Gravitas."

*The tell-tale chime indicated that the ship's sensors had detected his voice. The thick Coruscanti male's accent resounded throughout the vessel.*

:: Good morning, Mister Caydence. Shall we embark? ::

*Vance began to make his way to the lounge in the forward-center of the ship. It was a functional room, rather than luxurious. Vance had a comfortable chair and couch area in one corner where a holoprojector sat, and the rest of the lounge was built like a kitchen and laundromat facility. A small futon was in the back right of the lounge, which indicated that this is where Vance spent most of his time. Sitting in the chair, Vance spun around to face the holoprojector. Nodding more to himself than to the disembodied voice, he affirmed the ship's recommendation.*

"Yes. Perform final flight checks and get clearance from Carratos Ground Control before we set out. Also, let's open the project file for both the L.O.B.O.S. and project Bad Moon Rising, shall we? Set them up on the HP here."

*The vessel was quick to comply. Within his mind, Vance was going through the mental checklist of his L.O.B.O.S. system's final evaluation. It was already prioritizing tasks based on the user's preferences, grasping complicated concepts with ease, and utilizing the ship's systems without so much as a hiccup. Already, Vance was looking over the sketches that Lyth Meran had sent him, alongside his own project's several files that he had compiled over the months. Project L.O.B.O.S. was a considerable effort on Vance's part, and the engineer certainly wasn't going to let the opportunity to test the omni-brain pass him by. If the ship could practically fly itself and function on its own, then Vance would have invented the first virtual intelligence capable of complex flight analysis and execution. The implications brought on by this could likely be pushed even further, considering what Vance was on his way to do at this very moment.*

*Vance took a quick minute to forward his traveling information to Meran Mechanics' station before continuing to work on the Bad Moon Rising project. By the time he would reach his destination, Vance hoped to have a working prototype already designed, down to the smallest detail.*

Well they certainly knew how to choose the place to sit and work on things. matsu thought it while she was walking in to meet the others there with her stuff. WOrking on the droid walkers as well as a chance to try out if they will help the micro thrusters well it was a chance well worth it when she stepped in. "An interesting place." She said it while also noting the location they had to start working and traveling it. This system was rather interesting as well and she would have to see about maybe coming back to look it over. Maybe discover something or anything that they might have here as a way to improve relations and give them all something cool.

" We have visitors. these mist be those experts Kami called. well better go boost relations. " Lyth sighed leaving her calibrations and flying to the docking bey.
she arrived as the fist ship docked.
"Welcome to Meran Mechanics There's cookies and punch by the door."
she greeted
" this is more of a project a chance for us developers to unwind have fun brainstorm drink cheep bear and build something cool."

Location: Asol system, near planet Asop at the edge of the debris field.

Purpose: Docking with Meran Mechanics' main space station.

*The week-long trip had been exhausting, but fruitful. Vance now had several worthwhile ideas for Project Bad Moon Rising, as well as a couple of new configurations for his OS. Considering the scale of this project, it would likely serve him best to work on condensing the hardware, scaling it down to conserve space and updating the droid brains with newer modules to speed up the L.O.B.O.S.'s processing power exponentially. Perhaps with the help of Meran Mechanics, he could make that push to the next level for this project. Vance looked over the exploded view of his mech design. The bipedal walker was already looking to be fleshed out as far as his mind could take it, considering most of his engineering prowess had been dedicated to the construction and repair of starfaring vessels. Multiple instances of hydraulic compression, paired with high stress-dispersing exhaust and modular heat-sinks would allow for a higher level of mobility without being harangued by friction degradation and overheating. On top of that, the radome placement being set up near the armored core of the vehicle would give an advantage over placing it at its highest point or on any of the extremities. The shielding units (both primary and secondary) would allow the mech to operate at high capacity for longer periods without the need for down-time to recharge them; and the heavy quadranium plating that Vance had designed would keep most - if not all - ballistics-level armaments from piercing the core. The transparisteel was also meant to be capital ship-grade, to allow for maximum durability on the battlefield. That, paired with the over 200 internal hardware designs, would push this mech toward the cutting edge of battlefield deployment technology.*

*Closing the files and saving the latest updates that he had made to his designs, Vance moved toward the cockpit of the Gravitas for the final approach. Looking out the forward viewport as the station came into view, Vance noted the continuing construction on what was already proving to be a massive undertaking. Nodding to himself, Vance turned toward the exit and began issuing commands to the Gravitas' Virtual Intelligence.*

"Gravitas, go ahead and hail the station. Get clearance, and bring us in."

*The familiar chirp of affirmation sounded, and then came the reply.*

:: Of course, Mister Caydence. Shall I prepare your travel mug? ::

*Shaking his head* "Nah. We'll be on-station the whole time. Better that I make a good first impression, right?"

:: Good thinking, sir. I'll get right to it, then. ::

*The ship pulled into the docking bay, attaching to the platform without a hitch. Vance was impressed with the way that the L.O.B.O.S. was handling his ship. With a moderate reconfiguration, he knew that the O.S. would have no problems handling Project Bad Moon Rising. The larger side ramps lowered down to the docking platform, and Vance debarked the vessel, looking around at the internal structure of the station. Duly-reinforced bulkheads, excellent load distribution, and the seals looked good all around. When his eyes fell on the pair across the way from him, he had to do a double-take. First, was the small floating being that resembled the mythological pixies he'd read about as a child. Secondly, the person the "pixie" was talking to -- was that...Matsu Ike? Owner and operator of Sasori Industries? Vance stood in disbelief, acknowledging how graceful she appeared in her kimono and traditional garb. He looked down at his usual attire, somewhat-embarrassed by his dusty leather jacket and t-shirt combo. Adjusting his coat to the best of his ability, he stood with his hands folded in front of him. Then, he moved them to his sides, then folded his arms, and finally settled on dropping them into his hands folded, once again. If it wasn't painfully-obvious that he was nervous before, it surely was now.*

Matsu raised an eyebrow at it but there was a chance to work on some of the things that they had going, wanting to put the information and the research for a brainstorming session with the others. It sounded like someone else had arrived as well and that would come in handy for it as more people providing ideas of what they wanted to do with the design could add to it feature and system wise... Or over complicate it but the jedi master was an optimist in this case that it would all come in handy while she got a small drink out with a raised eyebrow. "Alright then, show me what you want to work with and lets see what we can make of it. There should be more then enough experience."

*Vance reached up and scratched the scruff on his jaw when he heard the pixie address him as "pretty boy". Of all the things Vance had been described as in his youth, "pretty boy" wasn't in the top five. Could have been sixth, but still -- eh, who was he kidding? He was sexy and he knew it. Regardless, this was quickly becoming something he didn't expect. Especially when he overheard the woman dressed in beskar'gam screaming at someone to "put their shirt on". He pursed his lips at that one, trying not to chortle. The pairing of pixie and philanthropist had begun talking about the mech design again; and to that, Vance eased his way over to take part in the conversation.*

"...'Sonic Howle'? Is that the sticker we're slapping on the unit? Interesting concept, that. It could easily fit with one of the configurations I've come up with."

*As much as he desired to fanboy over the fact that he was standing mere feet away from the Matsu Ike, Vance reined himself in. Because, on this one front, Vance and she were considered equals. They were both taking part in this project, and Vance's ideas - while likely rudimentary in comparison to hers - would be just as much of a contribution. He would make certain of that.*

Looking at the two she knew from working on the massive station that was now a production line and sold to major groups across the galaxy if they wanted it she was comfortable with them. The other she was looking at with a nod of her head as working together meant they all would listen to each other and go for the best. She presented her palm holo with a number fo things that they would be able to use for it if need be and she was prepared. "THank you and yes as you helped me now I am here and able to help you with your general needs for this project. THere are a number of things that have been developed with Sasori for walkers to get them moving around faster."
