Prince of the Expanse
It was never easy, leaving home. Be it to another semester at the academy, or some kind of vacation out into the stars. Not that Kyyrin took many of those. No, his homeworld offered all the getaway he could ever want. But this time was different. This time he was leaving something behind. He wasn't sure that graduated was the proper term, exactly. But he'd concluded the first leg of his schooling. And off to adventure he was sent. His father had made no secret of this. Their island home sheltered from the wider galaxy offered only a narrow perspective on life and its many facets. Kyyrin's father was determined that all his children would learn more of the galaxy they lived in before he would willingly give up his throne to any of them.
Not that Kyyrin was eager to see his father removed from the throne. Nor, he suspected, were his sisters. He thought the world of his father. But maybe that was the newfound appreciation the 20-something had for his father's wisdom. Like all children, he'd doubted it greatly during his teen years. But time showed him how foolish the boy really was. His father had been...patient with him. Perhaps more than the boy had deserved. Firm, yet not harsh. Yet still it was almost surprising to Kyyrin that his father had granted not only him, but his sisters a ship as well. A relic from an older time, albiet. But his father never did anything in half measures.
As Kyyrin sat on the Command Deck of his ship, he stared blankly at the terminal before him. Pre-flight checks had completed, all that was left was to configure the IFF systems. To name his vessel. He mused on the idea for a moment. A number of titles flashed through his mind as he tried to find something fitting. One of the many down-sides to being well and truly his father's son. Everything he did had to have a meaning. But with that thought, he made up his mind. He pulled the terminal closer to him, and configured the ship's registration to display a single word as its name.

Vanguard
A name that had once championed his father's fleet. A name that would once again champion his father's influence upon the galaxy. Kyyrin paused for a moment before confirming his choice. It was time to depart. Onwards to adventure and mystery. To seek out a saga of his own. And, though he never admitted it to his parents, perhaps to discover more about who his father really was. To learn about the stories his father never told them. Kyyrin's fingers danced across the controls as he pulled the ship about to venture out towards civilized space. Their first stop? Naboo. There was an old friend of their father's there. One that could ensure safe harbor for the children as they began their ventures onwards. And, as fate would have it, the perfect refueling stop...

Kyyrin had settled in quickly to the lodge the siblings had opted to stop over at. They could have stayed on their individual ships, but Kyyrin, for one, had suggested they find some place on-world to spend their first night. This was potentially the first time they'd be separated for something beyond school. Something they couldn't drop at a moment's notice to visit family. Perhaps that was his overprotective side kicking in. Kyyrin hadn't packed heavy for their stay planet-side. A trip back to the Vanguard wouldn't have been difficult. He packed only what he would need for a single night.
As he wandered onto the large balcony overlooking Theed City, Kyyrin took a drag from the glass he carried with him. A local brandy of some sort. His clothing was simple. Not so simple that one might mistake him for a commoner, but certainly not as fancy or obnoxious as others in his station might wear. From his hip hung a lightsaber. His lightsaber, or what passed for it. It was a simple blade crafted for him by his father. A set of three, the other two being granted to his sisters. The lodge's gathering space was filled with other patrons, all conversing in hushed tones enjoying a warm evening in the open Naboo air. Kyyrin glanced down at his Chrono. The night was still young, and he was certain his sisters were lurking about somewhere. Doing what, he didn't dare to ask. He paused near a small fire pit near the edge of the balcony's peak, deciding to have a seat. Tonight was the first night of what he was promised would be a grand adventure. How grand would it be? Only time would tell...
