Intent: To create an upgrade package that allows the Narra-class Interceptor to operate as an effective bomber
Development Thread: N/A
Manufacturer: Tenloss Corporation, KDY
Affiliation: Affiliation: Galactic Republic, Open Market
Modularity: Yes, there are two upgrade package variants: Standard (standard 2.0 Guide bomber layout) and the RST-B1 Weapon System upgrade
Production: Mass
Material: Durasteel, alusteel, and materials common to bomber construction
Description:
Following in the path of the S.T.U.P, or Starfighter Upgrade Package, issued to the Republic Navy, the B.U.P, or Bomber Upgrade Package, was designed, tested, and issued to all naval assets.
Essentially, it operates the same way as the Starfighter Upgrade Package. The module contains all the necessary items to uparmor and uparm the Narra so as to conduct bomber roles in the fleet. A large number of durasteel plates are included that are bolted to the hull of the interceptor as well as multiple vectored retro-thrusters to help it maintain a semblance of maneuverability. The package also includes modular system add-ons to include bomber systems and scopes into the cockpit and the pilot's HUD. Lastly, the package includes a pair of warhead launchers with expanded magazines, giving the Narra-class a pair of launcher tubes with eight missiles or proton torpedoes each. However, a second bomber variant package exists for the Narra. This system is identical in all ways to the standard, however, instead of the missile tubes and expanded magazine, the package includes the RST-B1 Weapon System, which is mounted underneath the chassis.
Despite these upgrades, the package does not come with engine boosters or an upgraded engine, meaning that any Narra interceptors equipped with this upgrade will drop to a speed of 3 on the Guide due to the heavier armor and increased warhead ammunition capacity.
