As the war with the Brotherhood of the Maw expands in scope, the governments of Anaxes and Axum signed legislation to dramatically expand spending on the Azure System’s Planetary Security Force, to form a fleet capable of joining the fight against the Maw. Several cruisers, frigates, corvettes, and even a fighter were designed and developed over the corse of the early parts of the war. A new Star Destroyer-sized vessel was also designed to act as the core of the fleet. This design is the Azure class, of which three hulls were laid in the Anaxes Shipyards. Due to budget constraints and the input of Rear Admiral Oliva, who was asked to make recommendations to his homeworld, modifications were installed on two, the Pearl and the Eagle. The Pearl was equipped with upgraded communications and sensor systems, while the Eagle, still mostly incomplete was converted into a carrier.
