Strengths: [2 minimum]
  • Speed: As an animal that has four legs, as well has a very naturally muscular body, Azaru are very fast. For longer distances, they can run up to 48km/hour and for short sprints can reach up around 80km/hour
  • Weight/Size: With their weight, it is not a fun thing to see a 900kg-1100kg beast running straight at you. As well, if you get stuck or trampled under one, you will not be leaving without a few broken bones. And could be the death of someone if a large group of them go over someone.
  • Strength: For an Equine animal, they are very powerful. Able to pull well over their own weight. A team, or pair of these horses could potentially pull an overall weight of around 25-30 tons. More so, their powerful legs if kicking at someone can send a person to fly back a good few feet. As well as easily break bones or even plate armor just form the severe sudden jolt of energy.
  • Semi-Force sensitive: Having a small increment of force sensitivity, they have the natural ability of Precognition to a point. As well, they can create a force bond with their Master should they believe that they have met the right person. it is through this act that in the force bond, that they will only work under the direct command of their master. An Azaru would die for their master if necessary. The precognition to the Azaru is a simple understanding of it. They can feel a little twinge that danger is near, and where it may be coming from, but they do not know what it is, or other specifics.
  • Rough Hide: The hide of an Azaru is very tough. Able to take a hit from a slugthrower, they can take a hit from a blaster bolt. They cannot withstand a Lightsaber, or prolonged use of a Vibroweapon. Their hide and main is not really made out of real hair. It is made out of flames that are cool to the touch. Almost more like smoky wisps that have no real advantage nor disadvange. However, these wisps can be cut off and these animals were hunted down and killed just for their manes so they could be used in fine clothing giving the wearer a wispy look. However as they are harder to find, and even rarer to see one up close, if one is caught, the owner will only cut off the hair and keep the animal alive, and trapped to "farm" this very fine additive to clothing.
Weaknesses: [2 minimum]
  • Movement: While the Azaru are fast in a straight line or somewhat of a curved path, they cannot turn on a dime. It takes them a little more effort to try and move in a circle, as well as to stop after going so fast. This can be very harmful if having to fight off predators because this is where they are the most weakest. Having to slow down gradually, and then having to move two sets of legs to turn around, it's hard and difficult.
  • Top heavy: With all of their weight and strength, they are susceptible to attacks at the legs. if one is coming for you fast enough, and you are strong enough with a physical weapon, knocking out the two front legs will bring down the entire animal in one fell swoop. However! if this is done, through a melee weapon, there is a high chance that the animal will fall ontop of you. So the best case is to simply trip it up with blaster bolts to the legs, or using the force to trip it up.
  • Top Heavy 2: With being top heavy, when Azaru are on the ground, it takes them longer to get up. Once again, they have to move four legs, and all of that body weight form the ground up so they can defend themselves or to allow a master, if they have one, to ride them again. (that is if he is not killed already) They are very much vulnerable on the ground.
  • Stomach: Despite having a rough hide on the outside, they have soft spots. Chinks in their armor that are mostly the nose, eyes, underbelly, inner sides of the legs, and the under side of the neck.
  • Legs: Horses legs are not very muscular or very tough. Bones can break much more easily than any other bone in their body because of the lack of muscle to protect it. Anything such as a fall, a well placed blaster shot, or a sturdy enough blade that hits the legs can cause breaks in their ankles and possible hinder them from walking, let along running, ever again.
Distinctions: They look like horses with colorful flames.... And very tall for equines
Average Lifespan: 30 - 40 years.
Races: There is no real named races of the Azaru, other than that the colors of their manes and skin can be changed. Identified by where they live on the planet. (Green is in the planes, Red close to the lava flows, blue near bodies of water) and their color is determined by their parents, and where they were born as well as their diet at a young age.
Estimated Population: Very rare, and estimated 2,000 live on Safe Haven Only.

Diet: Vegetation, Sometimes meat when given by a master, and rocks (helps with digestion)
Communication: Horse speak, Telepathy and Understanding different languages only comes with the force bond to a Master. learning of them and through them. Telepathy can come mostly in the form of a broken form of the language in which the Master speaks. So if the Master speaks Galactic Basic, The horses will have a rudimentary understanding of the Galactic Basic language. This ability does not come overnight. They must learn this over time, as well, they can communicate in the forms of emotions. By sending "Feelings" or emotions over through the Bond that the two have. Really this is only done if the horse is having to focus on something else, something is hindering the horses focus, or they do not know the language which is spoken by their master.
Culture: For one month of the year, they have a mating season. (first month) The males will instead of like most other species fight, will actually race one another. Who ever is the fastest will claim whoever they want as their mate. They will do the nasty, and from there, the Father will leave for a time. leaving to Gather food for the baby, the Mother will stay in the place in which they mated and wait for her mate's return. Once the male does return about 7 months later with food. The baby will have most likely been born by this time in where it has been surviving off of breast milk for the span of about two weeks. The Father will return and give the child food to ween it off of the milk and will then take care of the child until the age of four years old. ItpNow considered an adult and will be left to it's own devices. The Mother after giving birth and dealing with the pain of having to give birth, will leave once the child is weened from the breast milk.
Technology level: No real use of technology in nature. If with a master then they will go onto ships with their masters and if their master is smart, and wealthy enough, make armor for them, but other than that, nothing.
General behavior: Acts like any other horse? Only with a little addition with Force sensitivity and the mating season in the basic sense. In the wild, anything that is alien to them is considered a threat and they usually run away from. Hence why it is hard to catch them and find them. Usually in a heard of around 5-10 others, However some who are left behind are considered Mustangs because of their lone ranger type of attitude. However, all of this changes when in a force bond with a master. When bonded the connection causes the Azaru to act very much like their master. Having the same tendencies or actions. Making remarks in the Masters head, or simply acting much in the same was as the master does. If their master is a nice Jedi, then the Azaru will be helpful and bring aid to others. But a Sith master may cause the horse to be corrupted by the Dark side some what and become a Jerk and bite hair or take things such as hats, clothing, or even spit on people.

History: The Azaru have been on Safe Haven for as long as Records exist. They were once abundant and had numbers in the millions. However when the hunting on them had become so severe that their numbers dropped exponentially. They were used for labor or general travel before the use of speeders and vehicles. While now they are hunted for a commodity and a source of their manes to be used in clothing, as well as their hide for robes or cloaks worn by the wealthy. Now they are hard to find even in the wild, and even a rarer occasion to come close to one.
Notable Player-Characters: N/A
Intent: Create an animal that the Beast Hunter's Guild can have to Hunt, as well as a possible RP for others to try can catch one of these as a "Steed" or "Mount"

These will certainly be fun to hunt... Very interesting unique species you have here. :)

Just a few things;

Can you clarify just *how* fast they are?

Telepathy? Canyou go into more detail?

How advanced is their pre-cognition?

I'd like more general behavior, 'like a horse' is a bit road. Do they get spooked easily? I assume they live in herds? How large are the herds? How does the father go off for seven months and bring back food? The only example I can think of that kind of behavior int he real world is penguins- and they regurgitate it... Also, how long until the babies can stand? With horse I believe it's usually only a day or two- so that they can move with the herd as soon as possible.

They're huge, strong, fast, telepathic, and have a practically armored hide; i'd like another weakness. Prehaps vunerable legs, as real life horses have? (There is very little muscle on the lower leg in real life horses, making the ankle a huge vunerable area and prone to breaking.)

After that- I think you'll be good. I really like the idea of the smoky hair thing (though I don't understand how it works...) and I love the images.

[member="Nickolas Imura"] - Everything looks good 'cept one thing.

Projecting emotions, I understand, dogs practically do that, but speaking in (albeit broken) words? That would be more charateristic of a sentient being then a semi-sentient one. Clarify, or edit that please. :)

(Or make them sentient, but barely, like a Gorax)

[member="Nickolas Imura"] - So basically they're the Horse version of Ashlan Wolves. I like it, very much. I love the concept, and alltogether it's a very good sub.

Approoved, pending secondary.
