SPECIAL FEATURES
DETAILED SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Each shield gauntlet is based on the designs of Killian Rangers, preforming the same function while having a different appearance. They create personal shields in the form of clear, concave disks of energy with a range of less than a meter, similar in function to a Gungan energy shield. The two shields have been lightly modified to maintain their relevancy in terms of defense to modern blasters, and provide enough power to absorb or deflect small arms fire for a brief time before needing to recharge.
  • The integrated comlink in the helmet allows free communication through encrypted channels to others using the same channels.

Strengths:
  • Ballistic resistant: Highly resistant to ballistic and other kinetic weapons, through its construction with Durasteel alloys
  • Blaster resistant: Resistant to blaster weapons through thick plates of durasteel alloy and the armorweave body suit
  • Near complete protection: The number and quality of design to the plates leaves very few gaps in protection, save where it was either impossible or impractical to place coverage.
  • Shield Gauntlets: In addition to the physical armor, the use of two shield gauntlets adds what is essentially another layer of protection against blasters.
  • Extreme cold: Though not the best protection, the steel and armorweave bodysuit do help insulate the wearer somewhat, providing precious minutes of non-strenuous work out in very low temperature enviroments.
Weaknesses :
  • Heavy: Wearing this armor is no small feat in itself. The entire suit can weigh the person down greatly, making them very dangerous.. but only over short distances. It causes every motion to require more effort to preform, and causes it to become draining in extended combat.
  • Restrictive: Though the user is perfectly free to jump, run, duck, and crouch, the armor is bulky enough that the user's full arm movements and full leg motions are difficult or outright impossible. For instance, one cannot reach all the way across the body.
  • Lightsabers: Despite being well equipped to fend off blaster and slugthrower carrying opponents, and even those who engage with blade or staff, a lightsaber will easily cut through the metal plates of the armor. Further alteration would be required to replace the entire suit to prevent this weakness.
  • Gaps: The user's armpits, inner thighs, and most joints have limited or no protection save the armorweave, making them apt targets for ballistics or vibroblades.
  • Blunt force: The most amusing weakness of the armor is also the simplest, blunt force. The armor will take much to dent, or break, but while it stops ballistics with relative comfort, bigger and bigger amounts of kinetic, blunt force can cause quite the pain and disorientation. The head especially, as the skull rocks in a metal cage.
  • Shield gauntlet batteries: The shield gauntlet batteries can be overloaded, rendering them useless after sustained use and impacts. In such an event, they can take several hours to recharge before they can be re-used.
  • Extreme heat: Conversely, the insulation and heavy metal plating does not assist in the event of extreme heat. Actually, it amplifies the effects based on exposure.
  • Maintenance: The armor requires frequent maintenance to remain useful, and will otherwise rust.
DESCRIPTION
Created by talented smiths at the behest of her late father, Aya Clarke's armor is a well designed cage of defense. With her father's great wealth, the armor was designed and created with the greatest of care, and it shows in the near-complete coverage of the armor. Made primarily for use on the world of Aelozath, it's primary concern of kinetic weapons in the form of stones, sharp pointy sticks, or swords was first and foremost on mind. To that end, it was constructed using a durasteel alloy fashioned to her specific measurements, plus a little room to let her breathe of course. The helmet included a comlink built in, to allow coordination of forces in the event of any open warfare or defense of the liege's estate. Finally, an armorweave bodysuit was added in the event of 'heretics' using blaster weaponry despite the planet-wide honor ban on the weapons, and as far as the original armor went this is the end of the story. However, after the assault on her parent's home, and their subsequent deaths, Aya felt it best to spend time off world, to decide what she wanted in life.

Before leaving, she inquired to the possible use of gauntlets in the 'City of Messengers', the planet's major (and only) space port, where a number of knights were known to use shield gauntlets in the enforcement of planetary rules, due to the spaceport being the only location blasters weren't expressly forbidden. After much searching, a knight instructed her where to go, and she immediately went and purchased the technology for herself. With some help, the gauntlets were created to replace her gauntlets at the time, providing the last alteration the suit has yet seen. The final product is a suit meant to protect the user against most general threats they will expect to face, and display their warrior nobility in a single suit.

This is a very nice submission, flavor and detailed, but I have one small detail. You mention it is quality 9, but when looking at the description and weaknesses, it sounds more like a quality 7-8 armor.

Thoughts?

Considering the amount of money that went into it's actual construction I wasn't entirely certain if it would be an 8 or a 9, at least considering the inclusion of the shield gauntlets if nothing else. Coupling the shield gauntlets with overall covering plates of armor, I thought it might be pushed just slightly higher than the upper threshold of the usual heavy armors. To be on the safe side I put it at 9, thinking it better to have to edit down than edit up.

However if you do think it'd be more an 8 I'll edit it down one, it's not as though it's a huge difference.
