Awaud's Invitation [Jaster of the Awaud Clan]

| [member="Jaster Awaud"] |

Alicia Drey stood on the tower of "the Fort", hands clasped to her sides and the cowl of her robe lifted over her head. It was high noon on Sojourn and a chance for the woman to get away from the galactic conflicts and business dealings she had found herself in as of late. A trip to Taris, followed by the One Sith's invasion of Kashyyyk had proved to be an exhausting venture for her to take. Darth Ayra and Alicia Drey still remained a secret to those who knew them and it would remain that way. As she maintained the veil of deception over the galaxy, Alicia would take the time on Sojourn to recuperate after the recent events.

There was one matter to be closed before the holiday could begin in earnest. Jaster of the Awaud Clan had come to the attention of the business entrepreneur. Alicia Drey thought the Mandalorians to be the best in the business. To have one on her side would be a great benefit to her and what she intended Sojourn to become in the next few years. A place for people from all walks of life to come together and benefit the work that she did in her life as Alicia Drey, to further the goals of the scheme in place.

Wind whirled around her, threatening to blow off her hood. When it did so, her blonde hair rose in the currents. She closed her eyes, enjoying the sensation. It felt good to be alive and she was no longer shackled, for those who threatened her plans had been eliminated. Waiting for Jaster's arrival, Alicia remained there to enjoy the sun, wind and scenery that Sojourn had to offer.

Exiting hyperspace, orbiting a planet Jaster didn't know much about besides the few records he received from his possible new boss. His crew were ready for new jobs, just running supplies and equipment from one supplier to his factions camp was boring his men. They wished to join in land and hold weapons, doing what Mandalorians were born to do, look fierce and drink the reward later. Jaster had other plans then his men, he wanted a benefactor behind him in future endeavors. Who better as a significant backer then a well financed business women of statues, well that's what his Intel had brought him.

Getting closer to the plannet Jaster realized what was happening, "Comm. Op. send a message to the given frequency, tell them I have arrived and am heading tword the planet." Jaster wore his best armor, his family's Field Marshal Armor, bright gold to signify his rank from years past and the family's red trim to signify his clan. He turned to walk off the bridge of his Hammerhead-class Cruiser to the hanger where his transport shuttle would take him to the planet. "XO, you have the bridge, send marines to stand by and flight crews on hot-burn." It wasn't that he didn't trust the the women, he didn't trust anyone, but that he wanted his men to feel like they were in control. The truth of the matter was that they were mear guest of a very powerful host.

Jaster entered his Kom'rk-Class transport shuttle and heads out to the planets surface to meet his benefactor.

There was a noise that made Alicia divert her gaze away from the valley that "the Fort" stood upon. Her hazel eyes turned to the approaching servant boy. "Madam, I thought you should know. Your expected guest has arrived."
"I see," replied Alicia. "Has dinner been prepared?"
"Yes madam. We will begin serving in half an hour."
"That's fine. I will see you then."

The man turned away. When he left the spire, Alicia soon followed and turned down the hallway to the flight of stairs that led down from the spire to another hall. She navigated her way through the hall to the main stair case, which led down into the main atrium and to the giant, wooden gates that stood in front of the entrance. When she arrived at the doors, Alicia turned the door handles and pulled them open, stepping outside into the crisp air that blew around her.

Shutting the door behind her, Alicia made her way to the courtyard. Her gaze lifted to the approaching Kom'rk-class transport shuttle, which she assumed Jaster Awaud to be aboard. Hands to her sides, she waited for him to land and emerge from the shuttles canopy, where they could greet each other.

"Sir, we are landing." Said the piglet of the shuttle.

"Roger that, trooper," Jaster responded, "open the canopy as soon as we land,"

The shuttle lands. Jaster two Gaurds exsited the craft before him. Jaster walked out of his shuttle craft, "The Fort" was a beautiful setting. The planet was full of there life and the smell of nature reminded him of previous glories and battles. Jaster notices the women standing over him up by the door. Jaster walks up to the women, and as Mandilorian tradition, bowed to signify his respect for the difference in social statuse. 'To think this beautiful women is to be my boss, the XO is so goin to be so excited.' Jaster snickered under the bow.

Alicia considered the transport that arrived. She did not recognize the design, but was impressed nonetheless. It told her that Jaster Awaud was a man who was well prepared, in her eyes. He had resources. She decided then that she would endeavor to discover more about the man, his crew and how he procured his ship.

When he came to a stop before Alicia Drey, she extended a hand in greeting. "Welcome to Sojourn, Awaud. I hope you and your men are hungry. I have prepared some dinner before we sit down and talk business."

Jaster recovered from his bow and looked at Alicia. He gestured to his guards, "will you be joining us, Sargent?"

"No, sir," said the Sargent of the guard, "we will stand guard out here with the pilot, thank you ma'am but we can't leave these two unattended." They stood at attention and saluted Jaster.

Jaster turned his attention back to Alicia. This surprised Jaster, sarg was always ready for a meal, 'Guess he's being nice and respectful to me.' He tilted his head in respect to her and bring his head back, "I guess it will just be us today Ma'am."

She smiled. "As you wish." Alicia turned to the door, lifted a hand and pushed it back open. It swung to the side, allowing them entry to the hallway. A man in light grey, heavy Armour held the door open for them. On the right side of his chest plate was a sun emblem. Moving into the hall, Alicia led Jaster down it towards another pair of wooden doors at the end. Various men and women passed by in white and black uniforms. Servants that worked here in "the Fort", getting ready for the dinner ahead.

They entered the dinning room. A sleek, wooden table stretched across the center, adorned with chairs made of the same wood. Enough seats are lain out for eleven people, including Jaster and Alicia. She turned to the Mandalorian as they stood at the door way. "We'll be joined by the Alfonsi. They live here at my home whilst I am away and whilst I am here they are servants for me and my guests. Should you need anything, then you are more than welcome to ask them. Please take a seat."

Alicia took the seat at the helm of the table, indicating to the nearest seat too it for Jaster to take. Already, five children varying from young to teenager years had taken seats. They greeted Alicia with a chorus of 'Miss Drey' before returning to their conversations, eagerly awaiting their meal. Alicia turned to Jaster whilst they waited. "How your journey to Sojourn?"

Jaster enjoyed the few enjoyments of this estate. The dinning room was elegant and amazed him at the capacity of its size. Jaster never had a home and only ever knew of his cabin on the ship as anything personal. The Alfonsi were interesting people for he never had savants of slaves, he was so close to his crew that If he ever asked for a favor they would joke. A ship of close exiled Mandilorians could do that to anyone.

"The journey was very interesting, a few other meetings and such," Jaster answered her, "had to leave some ships in quarantine of a city ship that I'm being updated regularly, other then that it was quite enjoyable, I hope I didn't have you wait after I was delayed."

Engaging Jaster Awaud in small talk created a sense of comfort for him to enjoy. The more they talked, the more Alicia Drey and the Mandalorian would feel more comfortable in talking and conversing. This was something that an employer did with they who would work for them. Something that was tried and tested in the past. You only need look at the Alfonsi, who worked at "the Fort", to see the results of such a relationship; and the fact that they lived here on Sojourn so comfortably meant that they were not slaves and instead treated as equals. Something that Jaster Awaud would enjoy himself in his working relationship with the new woman.

"You had to leave some ships in quarantine? That's interesting. Where did this happen? How many ships do you actually own?" As they conversed, dinner was in the process of being prepared and served. Alongside various dishes of vegetables, center to the table was a joint of meat that Alicia did not recognise. She would ask Alyxia Alfonsi, the head maid, when she took her seat at the table.

Jaster enjoyed how easy it was to talk with his new employer. He remembered the quarantine as it was just a little earlier. "Pretty far from here along a trade run on its way to the outerim, we still do not know what the cause is but will be informed after our meeting, and I own only one ship but being very affective security admiral ships are regularly under my command, I have 3 separate small fleets I currently command, each on separate missions to refugee camps and one releif mission."

Jaster didn't realize it till now but he really did a lot, and as soon as he got back to Monastary he would have hills of paperwork to deal with. The food was served to him and placed in front of his seat. After Alicia took her seat he sat in his assigned seat. The food smelt fantastic, he's use to re-cooked meals on the ship, the delicacy of real food was a once in a blue moon event. "This is a wonderful meal ma'am, thank you for your hospitality."

"You're welcome." Alicia turned to Alyxia, the head maid. She considered the woman. Second generation Alfonsi. Five children. She was well mannered and groomed. Mothers tended to be better house keepers. Looking after children tended to bring that out of a woman. "Alyxia, what are we eating?"
Alyxia Alfonsi paused mid conversation with one of the children, who had been throwing peas at their brother. "Game, madam. I hope it is to your liking?"
"It should be." Alicia gave her a smile and turned to take a piece of the meat. It was delicious and succulent. Alyxia was a good cook as well.

After swallowing the piece of Game that she had taken, Alicia turned back to Jaster. "As you know, I am looking for someone to protect myself and my assets. This includes my home and friends..." She gestured to the table and the people sat at it. "...as well as my business. I may require you to accompany me to worlds away from Sojourn, deep in the heart of the Galactic Republic, Omega Protectorate and Imperial Remnant. Someone like me has unknown enemies that could seek to get rid of me at any turn."

"Some of the things I might ask you to do will be controversial. What I require is someone who can follow orders without hesitation. In the world of business and enterprise, it can be cut throat and dangerous. Your roles can range from simple security to a body guard to delivering cargo or messages; and I will pay you and those who work for you well for doing this for me."

She turned to eat, speaking as she cut another piece of Game on her plate and a potato on the side. Dipping the fork into the gravy that had been poured onto her meal, Alicia said. "But before we draw up a contract, I need to know more about you and those under your command. How is it you have men under your command, for example? Where do you come from? I would like to know your story, Jaster Awaud."

Jaster allowed one of the female survants to finish her explanation of the food he was to eat. To him though, it didn't matter, it had been six months since he was able to sit and eat real food. He then followed Alicia as she ate the food and he followed, the meat was amazing and fell apart in his mouth, the juices from the freshly cooked meat made him space out. So much that when Alicia spoke it startled him, he listened closly, she spoke as if he hadn't done bad things before. He listened none the less, he didn't want to be rude to a person so kind to him so far. As he looked around the table he could tell that she had no I'll will tword those who were loyal to her.

"Well ma'am, me and my men are no stranger to placing blades where we are ordered to do so. Both me and my crew along with some subordinates are all ex-soldiers. For example me and my crew are all veterans from the Mandilorian Planetary Defence Force." Jaster continue to follow with his history," I myself am from Mandalore and a descendent from Mand'alor the Uniter, both my parents were fierce soldiers in the Mandilorian Ground Forces, never got above the rank Rally Master, I decided to follow them and became a shuttle pilot transporting cargo to troops on the ground. I rose through the ranks rather fast and became a Feild Marshal in the Planetary Defence Force, but I was shortly placed in exile because I spoke out against the mistreatment of civilians post conflict life's," Jaster became slightly emotional, but he did not show his dislike for his previouse leaders. He continues, "After exile, my men were given a choice to follow me into it or stay and serve someone else, out of 500 troops, only 423 followed me. My hammerhead class cruiser is a relic from the Hyperway Wars where my ancestors fought. To repay there trust I ran cargo for gangs and any odd job to keep them occupied, but without a purpose they lost hope. Not long after that I joined a secreat sociaty called the Healers Guild, who has just gone public, where we became there main escort ship, where I rose to admiral of the Supply Escort Division, unfortunty lately because of the war, the guild is running low on supply's, so me and my crew are here to work for you to later pay for medical supplys and equipment for refugee camps around the galaxy."

Jaster took another bite of his food, he just couldn't get enough of it all, and the wine that was given was absolutely amazing. He looked back at Alicia, "Is there anything I had missed?" He looked at the table then back, "If there is anything you wish to know, please ask it."

He had lived an exciting life. As she listened, Alicia enjoyed her meal as the conversation flowed. Only when he had finished, did she give her response. "You were exiled from Mandalorian society? I don't understand. Does that mean you are a fugitive?"

[member="Alicia Drey"]

"No ma'am, because of my rank and social statuse, I was forced out of the Military and am never allowed to step onto Mandalore." Jaster looked at his food. "If I even enter Mandalore space I will be placed in execution and a bounty will be placed on me if I escape." Jaster didn't care, Mandalore was getting crowded anyways, he loved spending time on his ship. Just knowing that metal separated him from the empty out there, allowed to let him feel free. Nothing felt more roomy then his crampt quarters back on the ship, he smiled still looking at his food. He continued to eat until Alica to ask another question.
