Appearance & Personality

At first glance, Avra Aillun is your average teenage girl. She's not terribly tall, not very heavy, and has an overall youthful appearance. The most significant feature would be her vivid, turquoise eyes which are extremely rare--if not entirely unfound--among humans. Her pale complexion also stands out among mankind, and could be described as cold or perhaps even ghostly. All these unusual qualities are the result of her species, the Resenerna who are used to the dark, and otherwise cold abyss of deep space.

When it comes to the young girl's personality, Avra can be most readily described as diligent, resourceful, and even mellow. However; this should not be substituted for maturity, as she still lacks the experiences of adult life and must rely on the wisdom of elders to make informed decisions on matters that impact her life to great effect. In social atmospheres, Avra usually spends time on her own but enjoys the company of those she's acquainted and commonly avoids strangers.

In more situational scenarios, Avra's less desirable qualities are revealed. When confronted with an obstacle she cannot overcome, she becomes bitter and cynical. Avra also has a habit of playing leader despite lacking the experience to lead, and will often ignore qualities in others out of jealousy. Otherwise she is found to be a mostly normal teenager in terms of behavior and habits.

Strengths & Weaknesses

+ Acute Eyesight: As with all of her species, Avra has a highly adept eyesight and can visually perceive objects at great distances, and even in low light.
+ Natural Spacer: She grew up among the stars, living aboard great and very old starships; thus she is very capable within the confines of such vessels.

- Inexperienced: Due to her youth, Avra is simply inexperienced in many day-to-day situations, and struggles to succeed without the help of others.
- Tongue'n'Cheek: Avra is rarely honest about what she thinks, and will often say one thing but think the other; especially around her friends.

History

The Resenerna are a relatively unknown and secluded people who drift among the stars nomadically after the destruction of their homeworld, Asva. In memory of their paradisaical origins, two of these people named their firstborn daughter, Avra, which means "of Asva." Avra grew up like any child would. She had a home, an education, and socialized with other children... Only it all happened aboard a starship.

In all her childhood, Avra had never left the hull of a starship, and only knew the feel of metal beneath her feet, the sound of engines roaring, and the cold airs devoid of all aroma. To think that anyone could live in these conditions is unthinkable among even the greatest scholars, yet somehow they lived adrift in the endless void. A Reseran made their living by serving their ship, instead of wages they were given food and clothing, instead of homes they were given quarters shared with other families. To be Resenerna meant sharing the burdens--and boons--of life with your fellow Reseran.

One day she became something more, as we all do. Her mind was shaped by events that transpired around her, and Avra longed for something else.

Doing what only a few have done before her, the young Reseran left the fleet behind in search of knowledge, so that one day she may bring hope to her people; to believe that there's a possibility of finding home again. For this inexperienced girl, her adventure has yet to begin but what stories lie in wait will change her forever.
