Avam Khizei was born into slavery on the planet Sleheyron, a world controlled by the notorious crime lords known as the Hutts. From a young age, Avam was forced to work for the Hutts as an enforcer, using his strength and fighting skills to enforce their will on others. Despite his grim circumstances, Avam dreamed of a life beyond slavery, where he could use his abilities for a better cause.
As Avam grew older, he became increasingly disillusioned with the Hutt's way of life. He witnessed the cruelty and oppression they inflicted on others, and realized that he could no longer be a part of it. One day, he saw an opportunity to escape when a group of during a firefight between his masters' forces and a rival syndicate. During the carnage, Avam took the chance and fled into the wilderness, risking everything for his freedom.
With no friends or allies, Avam wandered the galaxy, trying to find a place where he belonged. After many years, he came across the Rimward Trade League, a democratic government who sought to bring justice to the galaxy's outer rim. Impressed by Avam's strength and determination, they offered him a position as a Ranger, where he could use his skills for the greater good. -
Strengths
- Fighter: After years of serving the Hutts as an enforcer, he knows how to fight opponents and be handy during a brawl or firefight.
- Desert
Born: Like many breeds of Nikto, Avam is able to comfortably exist in desert extremes moreso than typical humanoids.
Weaknesses
- Hutt-Hater: When it concerns dealings with the Hutts, Avam has no mood for it. He sees them as the enslavers of his entire species, who have held a tight leash on the Nikto for centuries. This hatred extends to other races or individuals perpetuating the slave trade, such as Zygerrians.
- Gruff: On the outside, the Nikto has a tough emotional exterior that comes off as very gruff and straightforward. Those who get to know him for long tend to see the tenderness inside. Otherwise, he operates on the old trope of "Good Doesn't Mean Nice".
