Apart from her obvious strengths--a mind for numbers, an often-times inhuman drive for perfection, and manifest good taste--Avadreia is plagued with a sometimes out-of-control temper, and the patience of the opposite of a saint. She is demanding in her expectations, unyielding in her dealings with underlings--and aren't they all underlings, at this point, really?--and cold in her personal relationships since the death of her husband.
SHIP:
A Baudo-class star yacht, which her husband found floating in some junk yard and refurbished from the deckplates up. It is plated in reflective chromium and blue paneling, giving it a rather distinctive look. The ship contains its standard laser cannon turret, but has upgraded sublight engines and shields, at the expense of weapon power and hyperdrive upgrades.
BIOGRAPHY:
Avadreia Natasi was born on Kuat to the merchant classes. She was given a decent education and attended university on Kuat, forgoing a foreign education in favor of the relative safety of her homeworld. Like some in her generation, her rather homebound existence is driven by a paranoia about the plague. She fears its return to this day and spends a lot of time and effort on trying to keep herself and her family safe.
At university, Avadreia Natasi met Faber Lacroix, a dashing engineering/business management double-major. Avadreia herself studied economics. After university, Faber went on to work at Kuat Drive Yards as a manager in their starfighter design corps. Avadreia found a job working in the Kuat financial sector. Avadreia and Faber continued to run into one another and eventually began seeing one another. She was 25 when they were married. She continued to work, pausing momentarily to give birth to a son, Sante, at the age of 27, and a daughter, Verie, at the age of 30. The children were brought up by a nanny until Sante was old enough to go to Faber's old military prep school and Verie to an arts academy where she excelled in classical ballet.
When Faber became a member of the board of Kuat Drive Yards, he lobbied to bring Avadreia on as a financial overseer. This was more than simple nepotism; his wife had by this time established a proven track record of sound financial judgment. Together, when she was 42, they implemented a plan that would see Kuat Drive Yards' position secured as the galaxy continued to climb its way out of its plague-ridden hole of a past. Unfortunately, by this time Faber had developed a taste for young women and began to get increasingly sloppy with his infidelities. When Avadreia was 49, she discovered that Faber was being blackmailed by a competitor into giving up proprietary KDY intelligence. It was a horrible shock to everyone but Avadreia when Faber was found to have overindulged in his nightly whisky and stumbled off the balcony of their penthouse, smashing a very expensive landspeeder parked on the street below.
In the two years since Faber's death, Avadreia has succeeded him in his office as Director of Operations and shut down the leaks that had sprung while her husband had been busy inspecting his secretary's thrusters. She had spent much of the last decade of her life forging a relationship with the ruling Kuati aristocracy, guaranteeing the continued safety of the KDY, and building a team of talented individuals to help with the running of the corporation.
