(I know this is an Umbaran hover tank, but I like the way it looks for a starship weapon emplacement so that is why I'm using it for this submission)

Description:

Upon the acquisition of Nubia Star Drives by Aurora Industries, Aurora engineers got a chance to look over the data from the Bastion-class Light Star Destroyer that Nubia had developed. Going over the data, the engineers were interested by the ship-mounted EM plasma cannons the vessel was equipped with as they hadn't seen something like it before. Basing their initial designs off those weapons, they began development of Aurora's own type of EM plasma cannon.

Dubbed the AV-X02 "Nebula" EM plasma cannon, the new cannon is a devastating plasma cannon for use by Aurora ships. The cannons come in dual cannon swivel emplacements as a standard design choice, allowing the weapon a large firing arc as it can swivel around on the central ball, and have a rate of fire of three to five shots per minute. While the weapon is devastating against enemies, capable of disintegrating pieces of hull plating with single shots, it does have a downside.

Ray shields soak up EM plasma shots, requiring a greater number of shots to bring down an enemy starship's shields than even standard turbolasers, meaning they should only be employed in volleys against fighter craft, craft that have already lost their shields, or originally unshielded enemies.

Nebula EM plasma cannon would count as 4 for each gun on a starship weapon loadout due to its heavier nature and it is designed as a dual weapon

Not from how it appeared on the Clone Wars as the plasma balls exploded and could blow things up, although I did find a video that shows them in action
