Auxillaries

Back at the Silver Rest, Jyoti was in full on admin mode, going over procurement and logistics with her fellow Jedi Commanders and Ranger counterparts. A big part of proceedings was the personnel department, recruiting new blood to the Antarian Rangers, either as full-on members, or contractors - mercenaries.

Day by day, she reviewed a few PMC proposals, passing them on if she felt they would mesh with the Anatarian Rangers. Today she had a meeting with a Mandalorian outfit. Recent conflicts with the ME had left her a little wary of Mandalorians in general, but it certainly wouldn't hurt to have a few more on the payroll.

The meeting between Jyoti and the head of this Mando outfit, Ursala was to be held in her secondary office within the Ranger headquarters, distinct from the Silver Campus, primarily an educational and medical institution.

Whenever Ursala showed up, one of Jyoti's aides would lead her right to the office, which was one of the few surface-level structures of the whole installation.

With no helmet, her hazel hair insisted in falling down in her face. Forcing Ursula to use her hand, wrapped in her glove, to help remove the damn thing out of her sight, this would always make her wonder if she should have continued to use the damn helmet. Instead of carrying him under her arm, like a trophy of some sort, she was never ashamed of using the helmet, or her personal sigul painted in red in her armoweare long cape, those were the things that defined her existence as a mandalorian, and she was proud of that.

In black pitch armor, Ursula followed the servant boy around that building complex. Mesmerized with the high security in such place, one that could be understood, the Silver Jedi were in war with two major powers in the galaxy, those damn Sith Tuskenkarklers and the Mandalorians. But that was not her war, there was no chance in hell she would fight jedis and have herself being cut by those damn lightsabers, or even crushed by their force powers.

When she thought in that, she almost could feel like a coward. She had no problem fighting Sith, they were too weak and had no real skill to her taste, like she saw in Gree when fighting with the rebels. Two things were certain after the conflict was done, the Sith were many but weak, and the rebels were horrible employers. They had whine too much about paying her. She nearly shot the accountsman when he asked if she was worth all those credits, oh boy, she wished she had shot him.

“Ursula Firestorm, the Bounty Hunter.”, the aide said out loud, and Vizla stood still, there with her pitch black armor, facing the leader of the Silver Jedi Order with her cold hazel eyes.
“Pleasure, madam.”

Near the appointed meeting time, a rather tall redhead - the Mandalorians she met were always tall - in full armor entered her office. She stood up as the woman introduced herself rather loudly while looking at her with a fierce gaze of storm grey.

By contrast, the Echani remained serene, not the least bit intimidated. She was secure with the knowledge that, through the Force or by her own bare hands, she could probably snap the slightly smaller woman in half without too much effort. Not that she wanted to, of course, but it was always wise to have a plan of action around a Mandalorian.

"Jyoti Nooran, General," she replied. "Please, take a seat."

She motioned for Ursula to be seated, then sat back down herself.

"So I see you're looking for some new opportunities with the Antarian Rangers, our military arm. Your application is pretty impressive, and I can see that you've even assisted the Rebel Alliance - well one arm of the Rebel Alliance - very recently. As far as I know, the RA is still around in a form. Why did you leave their service?"

It was hard for Ursula to be flattered by some alien and their looks. She despised the twi’lek with those weird tails, she found zeltros to be at least adorable to look on, and the elzeri were a bit tasteless, but never in her life she would say that she found those echani to be anything beyond beautiful. A woman jedi something and a general. At least her respect the girl deserved, if not her hazel eyes showing her liking to her alien looks.

Sitting in the chair right in front of the Jedi, the girl closed one hand around the gun butt in her holster, hiding beneath the table. Those force users had means to break her neck with mere gestures, and she couldn't take that risk, they were all a bit insane, at least in her opinion. Although, she didn’t even knew that she was a force sensitive.

“Their check bounced.”, it was all she had to say. That fighting in Gree with the Sith was a massacre, she killed some Sith scum, but even so, the rebels had very little resources to pay for her services. Ursula chose to stay quiet about the fact that she also worked for the fanatics of the First Order long ago, a stupid job that involved some stupid fanatics. Also worked for the Hutts, and a former imperial of the Galactic Empire, but her latest one was for the separatists in CSI. Great employers, always paid their debts.

Even having just met her, she could feel that the woman was pretty wound up. Stiff and alert, like she expected something to happen. It actually amused Jyoti because if she wanted to do something, there would be no warning. There was something special about this girl, even if she couldn't feel it herself, but even so, the redhead was no threat to the Jedi Master.

"So a lack of funds, that doesn't surprise me all that much. I was there at the Gree Enclave with a task force and saw how ill prepared they were to engage the Sith. It was disappointing, to say the least, but you caught someone's attention while we were up there, which eventually led to this point."

She picked up a large steaming mug from her desk to sip. "You can relax, by the way. As long as you're just here for honest work, then there's nothing to be concerned about. Shall I give you the details of your possible assignment?"

Standing there still, was a bit unusual for Ursula, no helmet, staring back at the echani like a common employer. With her hazel eyes, Vizla caught everything, from the that silver like hair, from that fair skin and eyes, she was a beautiful woman, one that would probably have the heart of every single man she ever desired.

And yet, a Jedi and a General. Long ago, Tarre Vizsla was the first mandalorian to be ever trained by the Jedi Order after passing the test, something that brought only death from it. Now, there she was, in front of a Jedi Master, one that held powers beyond her imagination, and Ursula still did not even knew she was a force sensitive. As her homeplanet was known for exiling such users.

“I’m never concerned. I’m just being me.”, she replied in quite the calm tone of voice and that meant being seen as a little paranoid for other people. After all, she dealt with death and torture, she had enemies and competitors, she could not afford being relaxed, otherwise she would die. Just like her father. “Gree… yes.”, she murmured, remembering the battle, the thrill of the fight still made her have goosebumps, after all, she fought like a hound, pulverized countless troopers, burned two acolyte and one captain alive, exploded three vehicles and blew up a whole ceiling over them when the cease fire order was given. “Rebels had spirit and fought hard.” , her voice seemed to fade away, she felt bad for the rebels. Truly did, until the payment was delayed. "By all means, General. That is why i’m here.”
