- These cybernetic eyes allow
Vireth to switch into and subsequently see into different visible spectrums.
- If one of these eyes were destroyed, but the other was still functional, then
Vireth can still use it.
- Cybernetic Enhancement: Unlike normal Human eyes the Auric elevated in their ability to see. They do not get tired, bloodshot, fatigued or damaged like the average Human eye.
- Thermal-vision: Like a maintenance droid these eyes are capable of tracing wiring behind walls and panels. They can also detected heat signatures which is useful for tracking enemies through walls or in the dark.
- Infrared Spectrum: Seeing in total darkness, identifying recently fired weapons, or revealing hidden traps or power sources.
- Enhanced Photoreception: Makes even starlight or dim reflections visible.
- No-Light Navigation: Like a built-in passive night vision with no need for visible light emitters.
- Target Tracking: Highlights enemies, allies, or objectives.
- Data Overlays: Enemy vitals, weapon identification, friend or foe tagging, or bounty data.
- Comlink Integration: Display of comms, mission briefing, or star charts.
- Language Translation: On-the-fly translation of alien scripts or spoken languages.
- Electromagnetic Field Detection: Useful for identifying cloaking fields, power lines, or other hidden tech.
- Ultraviolet Vision: Can detect blood, footprints, chemical residue, or invisible ink.
- Variable Zoom: Sniper-level magnification or distant object reading.
- Facial Recognition / Identity Matching: Tied to Imperial databases.
- Structural Scanning: Analysing Weaknesses in objects or materials.
- HoloNet Filtering: Allows eyes to tune into certain encrypted Holonet frequencies or data feeds.
- Emotion/Stress Detection: Reading subtle biological cues for interrogation or negotiation.
- Overheat Risk: Prolonged use of thermal vision can cause the optics to overheat, distorting visuals or requiring cooldown periods.
- Countermeasures: Enemies using thermal-dampening cloaks or reflective surfaces can fool or blind thermal sensors.
- False Positives: High ambient temperatures (like volcanic or desert worlds) can flood the sensors, making targets hard to distinguish.
- Flash Vulnerability: Sudden bright light (e.g. a flashbang) can temporarily blind or disorient
Vireth far worse than normal eyes.
- Monochromatic Perception: In night vision mode, the eyes may only see in grayscale or green tones, losing detail or colour ques.
- Data Overload: In high-combat or chaotic environments, too much information on the HUD can overwhelm the user or obscure real threats.
- Signal Jamming: The HUD's connection to Imperial networks or sensors can be jammed or spoofed by enemy tech, creating false readings.
- Malware Risks: Advanced slicers could potentially corrupt the AR feed, blinding or manipulating what the user sees.
- Static Interference: EM vision can be scrambled near powerful reactors, storms, or battlefields, reducing clarity or creating "ghost" images.
- Sensor Echo: Reflections or layered interference fields can make objects appear duplicated or distorted.
- Tunnel Vision: Zooming disables peripheral awareness, making the user vulnerable to flanking or ambushes.
- Delayed Focus: Rapid switching between zoom level can blur or cause temporary motion sickness such as disorientation.
- Mental Strains: Eyes that perceive too many spectrums can cause migraines, psychological stress, or a distorted perception of reality.
- Holonet Exposure: Long-term filtering of encrypted Holonet data may lead to info-bleed, where classified data starts leaking into the user's vision involuntarily (paranoia, hallucinations, etc.)
- Inhuman Appearance: The gold may be beautiful, but unsettling. People may distrust or fear
Vireth .
- Maintenance Demands: They require calibration or special tools to remain functional.
- Imperial Black-Box Lock: Only the Galactic Empire can repair or reprogram them. If
Vireth were to go rogue, or if the Empire were to be destroyed, the tech may become unstable or be shut down remotely leading to permanent blindness.
Designation: Auric-Iris Ocular Suite (Model V/UX-19).
Classification: Cybernetic Visual Enhancement System – Imperial Prototype.
Codename: "The Golden Gaze".
Developed under the auspices of the Raithal Military Academy (with significant support from the Church of the Dark Side), the Auric-Iris Ocular Suite represents a bold intersection of elite surveillance technology and psychological intimidation. Initially conceived as part of Project Regnant (an experimental program to augment high-value Imperial operatives for urban pacification and high-risk diplomatic enforcement) the V/UX-19 is the first in its class to fuse multi-spectrum imaging with a luxury grade gold alloy housing: a status symbol and terror weapon in equal measure. The gold coloration, far from ornamental, is refractive-layered to help try to prevent sensor glare and provide partial shielding from ion flashes and light-based interference. It also gives

Functionally, the Auric-Iris Suite offers a broad range of visual capabilities, including thermal/infrared imaging, low-light amplification, variable zoom, ultraviolet spectrum analysis, and an integrated tactical HUD that syncs with Imperial Holonet frequencies for real-time threat assessment and data overlay. It was installed into

However, these enhancements do not come without drawbacks. The system is highly sensitive to sudden light surges, making it vulnerable to flash-based countermeasures unless modded with rare sensor dampeners. Extended use of multi-spectral or EM vision modes can result in ocular drift, requiring recalibration and inducing disorientation or vertigo. The internal AR HUD (while powerful) can become data-saturated during chaotic combat scenarios, impeding natural vision and requiring focused training to operate effectively. Furthermore, like many black-budget Imperial technologies, the V/UX-19 includes a black box failsafe, allowing the Empire to remotely disable, corrupt, or erase its memory core if compromised.
Its distinctive golden appearance, combined with its penetrating gaze and polished gleam, has earned the Auric-Iris the nickname "The Golden Gaze" among the Empire's elite and enemies. It is a symbol not just of surveillance, but of inescapable judgment. For
