  • GENERAL INFORMATION

Today, Senator Auren Vellisar stands as the steadfast voice of Jhaessa Prime, one of the newest and most promising additions to the Republic's Outer Expansion Territories. Representing a world still finding its footing amid wild frontiers and ancient mysteries, Vellisar brings to the Galactic Assembly a calm, principled presence—equal parts diplomat, scholar, and advocate.

Though born of noble blood on Naboo, Vellisar has shed the trappings of Core World elitism in favour of purposeful humility. He is often seen in modest robes, embroidered with the sigil of Jhaessa's founding charter, preferring substance over spectacle. Where others speak loudly to be heard, Auren speaks softly to be understood.

His senatorial work centres on ethical colonisation, frontier justice, and preserving the natural identity of new worlds. He challenges unchecked exploitation by corporate factions, advocates for indigenous and settler rights alike, and works tirelessly to balance progress with preservation. As a result, he has become a trusted ally to Jedi explorers, a cautious adversary to expansionist industrialists, and a respected moral compass among his peers.

Despite Jhaessa Prime's relative obscurity in galactic affairs, Vellisar's speeches are often quoted for their clarity, compassion, and unshakable belief that every world—no matter how remote—deserves a voice in the destiny of the galaxy.

  • HISTORY
    Heritage & Early Life:

Born into the noble Vellisar family of Naboo, Auren was raised in the classical tradition of diplomacy, the arts, and civic responsibility. His family estate overlooked the Solleu River, and from a young age, he was exposed to the ideals of peace through policy, beauty through balance, and the power of a single voice when guided by wisdom. His mother, Myrielle Vellisar, was a cultural envoy to Alderaan, and his father, Edran Vellisar, once held a seat in the Royal Advisory Council under Queen Réllia.

Educated at the University of Theed, Auren studied interstellar law and ethics, and interned briefly within the Galactic Senate during the height of the High Republic's golden expansion. But unlike many of his peers, Auren felt a call not to serve in the comfortable halls of Coruscant, but to places where voices were still being found—where democracy had to be earned, not inherited.

    Call to Jhaessa Prime:

During the Outer Expansion Initiatives, Auren volunteered as a civic overseer for Jhaessa Prime, a newly charted world within the Nytherra System. Initially appointed as a provisional mediator between settler factions and Republic surveyors, Auren soon found himself deeply moved by the planet's wild beauty, harsh promise, and the quiet resilience of its people.

He declined an offered post on Naboo and instead petitioned to remain on Jhaessa, helping draft its colonial charter and establishing civic institutions from the ground up. In recognition of his service and neutrality, he was chosen as the first official Senator of Jhaessa Prime upon its entry into the Galactic Assembly.

    Political Identity:

Auren is known as a "soft-spoken flame"—deliberate in speech, unwavering in conviction. He champions colonial rights, environmental stewardship, and ethical expansion, often clashing with corporate lobbyists and senators who view frontier systems as resources rather than communities.

Despite his Naboo refinement, Auren dresses plainly, often in a sleeveless senatorial mantle symbolizing the unfinished future of Jhaessa. He speaks often of "quiet worlds deserving loud defenders."

  • APPEARANCE

During formal galactic functions—whether standing before the full Galactic Assembly or addressing the High Council of the Outer Expansion Territories—Auren Vellisar strikes a composed and dignified figure, embodying the quiet strength of Jhaessa Prime and the noble restraint of his Naboo lineage.

    Attire:
    • Senatorial Robes:
Crafted from slate-blue silkweave and trimmed in silver-threaded embroidery, his robes drape in clean, elegant lines—simple by Core World standards, yet symbolically rich. The fabric is light and breathable, made for both Coruscant's Senate halls and the humid chambers of Jhaessa's Founders' Promenade.
    • Mantle of Jhaessa:
Draped over his shoulders is a distinct half-cape mantle, forest-green in color and clasped with a brooch shaped like a blossoming flame over stone—the emblem of Jhaessa Prime. The mantle represents unfinished growth, a symbol of his world's ongoing journey toward self-determination.
    • Boots & Belt:
Polished dark leather boots rise to mid-calf, worn with a utility belt not for weapons but for datapads, archival seals, and a slim ceremonial vibroblade—an old settler tradition of bearing a tool, not a weapon.
    Accessories & Insignia:
    • Jhaessa Senate Ring:
Worn on his right index finger—a thin band of native stone and platinum alloy, engraved with the founding date of Jhaessa Prime's Republic Charter.
    • Data-Cuff:
Integrated into his left sleeve—a sleek silver cuff with holoprojection capability, allowing real-time readouts of Senate proceedings and field reports from Jhaessa.
    • Vellisar House Seal (Optional):
Occasionally worn as a signet beneath his robes—an eight-petaled water lily from Naboo, symbolising clarity, loyalty, and duty to peace.
    Presence:

Auren Vellisar commands attention not through grandeur or charisma, but through integrity and stillness. In a Senate where words often fly faster than starfighters, his calm demeanour and slow, deliberate cadence mark him as a man who speaks only when the moment calls for truth.

  • PERSONALITY

    Temperament:

Auren Vellisar is the embodiment of stoic idealism—a man whose beliefs are deeply rooted in justice, balance, and quiet resolve. He does not speak to win arguments, but to plant ideas that endure. His temperament is calm, introspective, and steady, rarely shaken even in the face of chaos or political aggression.

He is often described as the "quiet center in a storm"—the kind of leader who listens more than he speaks, and speaks only when what he says must be remembered.

    Core Traits:
    • Compassionate:
Auren possesses a deep empathy for the people he represents—especially settlers, labourers, and those whose lives unfold far from the polished walls of the Senate. He believes in legislation with a soul, and sees every citizen not as a number but as a story worth defending.
    • Principled:
He holds firm to values of transparency, non-aggression, and planetary self-determination. Though not naive, he refuses to compromise on matters that would betray Jhaessa's founding principles or its people's dignity.
    • Measured:
Rarely emotional in public forums, Auren is deliberate in both thought and word. He disarms opponents not through debate, but through the weight of truth delivered with grace and clarity.
    • Private:
Despite his noble upbringing and public role, Auren guards his personal life with discipline. He sees himself not as a symbol, but as a servant. While others revel in prestige, he prefers stillness, introspection, and time in Jhaessa's wild regions.
    • Intellectually Curious:
A lifelong learner, Auren reads widely—from Jedi philosophy to frontier agricultural journals. He frequently consults with scholars, Jedi, and scientists, seeing knowledge as the Republic's most honest foundation.
    Leadership Style:
    • Collaborative but Unyielding:
Auren seeks consensus wherever possible but draws clear ethical lines that he will not cross. His leadership inspires rather than commands, inviting those around him to rise to shared purpose.
    • Bridge-Builder:
Though some see him as slow to act, those who know him best understand that he's a master of building trust across divides—between settlers and senators, Jedi and industrialists, tradition and innovation.
    • Symbol of the Outer Expansion Ethos:
To many in the Outer Territories, he represents a rare kind of senator: one who listens, who walks the land he defends, and who returns home with humility, not hubris.
    Public Perception:
    • In the Core Worlds, he's viewed as an idealist—respected, though sometimes underestimated.
    • In the frontier systems, he is seen as one of their own—a rare Core-born noble who chose hardship over comfort.
    • Among the Jedi, he is regarded as a kindred spirit: patient, moral, and attuned to balance, though not Force-sensitive himself.
    Summary in One Line:

"Auren Vellisar does not raise his voice to be heard—he raises his values until silence can no longer ignore them."

    STRENGTHS & WEAKNESSES

    STRENGTHS:

    1. Unshakable Integrity:
    • Auren cannot be bought, coerced, or intimidated. His moral compass is finely tuned, and he refuses to compromise when it comes to his principles, especially concerning justice, equity, and planetary autonomy.
    • Strength in action: Trusted by frontier systems and neutral mediators alike, even when opinions diverge.
    2. Emotional Composure:
    • Calm under pressure, Auren is rarely rattled in debates or crises. This poise makes him a strong figure in political negotiations, where panic and provocation are common.
    • Strength in action: He's often selected to represent neutral voices in contested galactic issues.
    3. Empathy & Relational Insight:
    • He listens deeply, often understanding others' needs before they speak them aloud. This makes him an effective bridge-builder, especially between colonists, bureaucrats, and Jedi explorers.
    • Strength in action: Settlers on Jhaessa Prime consider him "one of their own," despite his noble origins.
    4. Philosophical & Strategic Thinker:
    • Vellisar takes the long view, often planning decades rather than chasing short-term wins. He views governance not as power, but stewardship.
    • Strength in action: His proposed policies often plant seeds that others fail to see until years later.
    5. Symbol of Hope & Authenticity:
    • His presence alone inspires trust among those disillusioned by the Republic's politics. He doesn't perform righteousness—he lives it.
    • Strength in action: Frequently invited to speak at humanitarian and diplomatic forums.

    WEAKNESSES:

    1. Overly Deliberate:
    • His careful nature often leads to slow decision-making, especially in fast-moving crises. He prefers to be sure rather than swift—an asset in diplomacy, a liability in wartime or emergency politics.
    • Weakness in action: Seen by some peers as indecisive or too slow to act in volatile Senate votes.
    2. Idealistic to a Fault:
    • Auren tends to believe the best in people—sometimes even when they haven't earned it. His resistance to cynicism can leave him vulnerable to manipulation or betrayal by more pragmatic (or ruthless) politicians.
    • Weakness in action: Occasionally outmaneuvered in backroom dealings or galactic lobbying blocs.
    3. Reluctant to Wield Power:
    • Though capable, Auren has an internal discomfort with direct authority. He prefers persuasion over control and is hesitant to push others forcefully toward his vision.
    • Weakness in action: Struggles to rally aggressive coalitions or lead hardline political campaigns.
    4. Disconnected from Personal Life:
    • In his devotion to his world and role, Auren often sacrifices his own needs and relationships. His stoicism makes him difficult to know intimately, and few are truly close to him.
    • Weakness in action: Emotional isolation leaves him vulnerable to loneliness and burnout.
    5. Seen as Politically Naïve by Rivals:
    • Industrialist senators and expansionist interests regard him as sentimental or out of touch, dismissing his ideals as impractical in the face of "real galactic demands."
    • Weakness in action: Frequently has to work twice as hard to defend his position in the Core-heavy Senate.
