Their schemes alongside House Tapalo against the native Gungans were exposed, plunging the once-prestigious family into ruin. For generations, the Verunas clawed their way back from the edge of extinction. They rebuilt through quiet pragmatism: agriculture, trade, and the high art of pretending they weren't cursed by their past. Vineyards thrived on Naboo's outer estates; the moon Veruna's ports brimmed with grain and ore. Slowly, the House reclaimed a seat among Theed's gilded elite.
By the time Aurelian was born, the name Veruna had returned to prominence, not through forgiveness but through persistence. Raised between the cultural pageantry of Theed and the political cunning of Parrlay, Aurelian was bred for influence. Educated at the Theed Royal Academy, he was trained in diplomacy, rhetoric, and the subtleties of power. Yet his ambitions carried him beyond the lecture hall. At sixteen, he enlisted in the Royal Naboo Defense Force, earning distinction for his charisma and unorthodox leadership. By the time he reached Major at the Keren Royal Defense Complex, his father, Remus Veruna, recalled him home, believing it time his heir learned to command from the throne, not the trenches.
Aurelian's transition from soldier to statesman was seamless. His first major appointment came when the aquacultural world of Plooriod III petitioned to join the High Republic. The Crown turned to House Veruna, experts in agricultural integration, to oversee the process. Aurelian dazzled both the royals and the Plooriods alike, winning them over with charm, reformist vision, and irreverent wit. They named him Senator, marking the start of his meteoric rise in the Royal Assembly.
Serving on the elite Internal Affairs Committee, Aurelian became a figure of fascination and suspicion. When Queen Kalantha ascended to the Chancellery, Naboo was left without a Sovereign. Aurelian seized the moment. With Sibylla's unexpected endorsement, he turned his sights on Bastila Sal-Soren, his final rival. Against all odds and scandal, Aurelian Veruna claimed the crown.
Now reigning as King Aurelian Veruna II, he sits upon Naboo's throne, a monarch forged from ambition, scandal, and calculated grace. With Sibylla Abrantes as his Voice of the Houses, he seeks to guide Naboo into a new age of prosperity within the Republic.
Yet, even as he builds, the galaxy tests him. With High Chancellor Kalantha kidnapped, Aurelian now acts as Interim High Chancellor of the Republic, bearing the weight of two realms: the jeweled world that crowned him and the Republic that watches for his next move.
