Personality: Aura Vexx is a man haunted by his actions, and driven by a sense of personal hatred and disgust that permeates all that he does. In conversation, he has a rather jovial outward appearance, and will willingly strike up conversations with those interested. However, the longer these talks go on, the more likely he is to let slip his inner, darker thoughts. The voices that he hears every night, and humor that always fails to hit its mark. This rather happy outward façade is easy to see through if one takes the time to look, but few are truly willing to look for long at the darkness lingering within. In all his actions, Aura Vexx is pragmatic in his approach. He will never do something without a clear defined purpose, and will often insult or berate those he sees acting out of reaction or emotion. Even when pushed to the extremes of his limit, it is rare for Aura to lose his inner control and lash out, and only a few people have ever managed to see this side of him.

Historical Information

The Vexx were a powerful people once. Descendants of the Echani warrior race, the Vexx sub-species divulged from the two main stream groups several thousand years ago. Originally just a sect of radicals, the Echani that would come to become the Vexx grew disgusted with their own people. Fearing that they would lose their warrior way through generations of peaceful cooperation with the rest of the galaxy, and the weakening of their bloodlines, the Vexx called for a species wide civil war to eliminate the weak. In their eyes, the only way for the Echani to survive and thrive in the galaxy growing ever more warlike around them, they needed to erase the weakness from their species. They were shunned by their peers, and driven from their homeworld. Fleeing in a great city ship, the Vexx radicals set out into the galaxy to do what they saw as necessary to ensure the survival of their people.

Three years after their eternal voyage began, the first culling began. Hundreds of Vexx were killed in the fighting, with only a few thousand emerging at the end of the conflict. These survivors, the strongest, fastest, and most cunning of the Vexx saw the action as justified, and through their success, the Vexx and Echani would survive. This pattern continued over several generations, with the Vexx city ship occasionally stopping above alien worlds to steal away entire settlements. The Vexx were not foolish, they knew that their constant cycle of destruction would decimate their population and gene pool, and so sought to add new genes to the population whenever the carefully calculated and tracked population index called for it. This mixture of species from across the galaxy ensured that the Vexx sub-species began to diverge wildly from their Echani and Thyrisian cousins.

Several centuries after the cycle began however, a change began to emerge. The mixture of different species, and their personal beliefs and ideals, into the Vexx city ship began to dilute the original purpose of their flight. The goal of self destruction for the sake of perfection began to lose favor, and nearly a millennia after they had begun the first culling, the last culling came to an end. The city ship was landed on an uninhabited world in the Unknown Regions of the galaxy, and it was there that the Vexx people began to build a true home for themselves. Not a palace of solitude and seclusion, not a bastion of hardship and growth, but a place of prosperity and serenity.

It was into this world that Aura Vexx was born. Originally named Aura Organiel, he was the fifth son of a rather minor merchant family. The Vexx people had lived on their world in relative peace for a dozen generations by the time Aura was born, and the culling's of the past were long forgotten. As he aged however, Aura came to learn about the events of his people past through his uncle. A self proclaimed prophet, he declared that the Vexx people were on a path for ultimate collapse. He had seen this coming collapse through visions he had at night, and told Aura, and those who would listen, that the peaceful ways of the Vexx were the cause of the coming collapse. Their people would cease to exist, and thousands of years of history, strife and hardship would all come to nothing.

When Aura came into adulthood, he followed his uncle and others like them in the Last Culling. Waging a civil war the likes of which their people had not seen since the first one thousands of years before, the Vexx tore each other apart on their homeworld. Hundreds of thousands were lost in the conflict, and over the course of the conflict Aura became fully exposed to the Dark Side of the Force. When the fighting finally came to an end, and the few thousand survivors of the Vexx stood in the ruins of their homeworld, Aura began his own destruction. He hunted down and killed each survivor of the civil war that he found, finally ending the conflict with the death of his own family. He had come to see that no matter what they did, the Vexx as a species had come to be corrupted by weakness. He purged that weakness with the death of his people, and when he left their homeworld, he departed as one of the less than one hundred surviving Vexx in the galaxy.

He took the name of the species he nearly singlehandedly wiped out, and set out into the galaxy to further his own powers he had found on his homeworld, while seeking to also eliminate the few survivors of the final Vexx civil war.
