DETAILED SPECIAL FEATURES
Anti-Depressant

The drug was created in the hopes of combating growing numbers of force users who suffered from PTSD due to the horrors they have witnessed and the people they could not have saved.

Beta-Blocker
When administered the drug will also proceed to block out all emotion that a force user might experience. While it was only intended to block anxiety and feelings of intense fear, the scientists and doctors that created the drug decided that a total lack of emotion was an acceptable side-effect.

Raises Mental Defenses
An unintended side-effect of this drug was the heightened mental defenses which is a direct result of the brain's emotional centre being more or less shut down by the drug itself. While the drug mutes any and all fear that the user experiences they are still vulnerable to abilities such as 'Force Fear' and other non-force attributed terrors. These effects are merely held off and will be experienced once the drug wears off at which point, depending on the amount of time spent in a state of tranquil-terror, might come back in an even greater magnitude once the brain gets a chance to process said fears once again.

However, should no anxiety or fear-inducing scenarios be faced after the point of injection the user will find that most of their worries quite simply gets swept away once the drug wears off again.

Causes Loss of Force Connectivity
This is a direct result of the Ixetal Cilona used in the creation of this drug. The grade at which a force user loses their connectivity depends entirely on the dose consumed.

Strengths:
  • Can't read what can't be seen - The drug effectively closes the user's mind off from mental intrusions such as someone else trying to pry their thoughts from their minds.
  • There is no emotion, only peace - Few things compare to the tranquility of a perfectly blank mind.
Weaknesses :
  • Unfeeling - Once injected the drug will start blocking any and all emotional receptors that the brain has, effectively blocking not just feelings of depression and anxiety but also feelings such as joy and happiness.
  • Untouched - The drug will also actively hinder any and all connectivity that the user has in the force. The greater the dose is, the greater the absence of connectivity gets.
  • Addictive - Several test subjects have described the state of being tranquil as one that takes some getting used to, but once accustomed to can become highly intoxicating and desirable. A few test subjects have also reported that as the drug left their system it caused all the emotions that it held back to resurface at a greater magnitude than they were able to contain and thus further pushing them towards taking yet another dose to avoid having to deal with it.
  • Overdosed - In case of an overdose the user will gradually slip into not just an unfeeling state of trance but also one that leaves them unable to move. Paralysis weakens them to the point where they just collapse on the floor as the chemicals within the drug starts to eat away at their brain until finally they simply die in extreme pain that they are left unable to express even to themselves.
  • Double Up - Non-Force Users experience greater effects and run a greater chance of addiction. This is certainly true for the crash that some users experience as the drug runs its course.
DESCRIPTION

At its base, Aufero Vis is a drug that attempts to nullify emotion in order to create a tranquil state of mind for whoever uses it. It is strictly regulated and can only be used if the user passes equally strict background checks. While the drug is sold with prescription, most of its user base seems to get it through less-than-legal means.

However, the dark secret behind Aufero Vis is that it does not hinder emotion as much as merely delay it, should extreme emotions be had for the duration in which the reagents are active. A user who injects themselves with an average dose of the drug -- which lasts for around an hour -- staves off PTSD episodes, extreme fear as well as any other emotion. However, a user that injects themselves with a dose that goes above average -- which can last from somewhere between two to twenty-four hours -- only to experience (as an example) taunts and intimidation will remain impassive and neutral to their surroundings until the drugs wear off at which point they will experience the rage that the drug held back at an intensity dictated by the dose itself. This also applies to feelings such as joy. If a user injects themselves and then partakes in a particularly joyful activity they will still remain as passive and unfeeling as ever only to erupt into an explosive state of euphoria as the drugs wear off.

This is exactly why the drug is as highly regulated as it is. Common practice for legal users of the drug is to have someone sit it all out with them. Most of the time this is a hired assistant or nurse specialized in applying the correct doses for their patients. To note here is that the recommended dose for the user is to only consume small doses once or twice per week at most. Once the drug wears off the user will find themselves relieved of their anxiety and they can once more go back to their regular lives until the next episode hits.

However, in the less-than-legal scene the drug has been highly praised by those dependent on it for its ability to 'make all the poodoo go away.' Much like under legal circumstances it is not uncommon to have someone sit the trip out with the user with the exception that the nurse or assistant in this case is someone who is more likely to allow the user to experience some more pleasurable activities as the user falls under its effects. For this reason alone it is not uncommon for 'Aufero Dependents' to seek out Zeltros for the sheer euphoria it brings them once the drug wears off.

Jedi and people with mindsets similar to them will most likely seek to avoid the drug, but curiosity has taken more than a few of them down a bad road that usually ends with heavy dependency and subsequently their own deaths.

Dark Jedi and Sith have been known to inject themselves with the drug before battle to truly amplify the rage they experience mid-battle in order to provide them with a boost. This does weaken them at the start of the fight due to their weakened connection, but it helps boost them further into the fight. It is however also worth noting that Dark Jedi are those dependents who are the most likely to overdose on the drug.

All in all, the drug has been a very controversial talking point and there are many lobbies advocating for its removal and to be regarded as an illegal drug due to its side-effects.
