BACKGROUND:
A large portion of Atticus' past has been erased from public and private record. His existence is simultaneously the most renown and clandestine among active COMPNOR agents. Various rumors assert that he could be anything from; an ERIS project HRD, to a clone of the late Imperator Irveric Tavlar brought about by some alleged deep state failsafe. In reality, these assertions are little more than canard and hearsay. Major Pyke's origins lean much more toward the mundane.

One way or another, it's always about the credits. For just over a decade, Atticus was the commander of a private military company based out of his alleged homeworld, Phaeda. The Crimson Company primarily dealt with corporations, specializing in espionage operations as well as traditional ground and space warfare. Their exploits caught the attention of former COMPNOR Director Jaeger Harrsk after a successful operation against Trade Federation and COMPNOR agents.

Eventually, Harrsk offered Pyke a deal. The details aren't known exactly, but The Crimson Company no longer exists, and Agent Pyke refuses to disclose anything in regards to the situation. That has spawned its own cavalcade of rumors, including that the entire explaination is fabricated in favor of one of the aforementioned proposed 'origins'.

Atticus Pyke's enigmatic aura has been constructed specifically to keep the truth an uncertainty.
