  • [SIZE=9pt]Range: The Aten Solar Cannons use Airy Beams, constructed waveforms which prevent the beam of light from dissipating over long distances, as well as a railgun built into the actual weapon itself in order to give the weapon it’s range, allowing the power of the solar ionization cannon to hit targets across a battlefield.[/SIZE]

  • [SIZE=9pt]What Shield: Due to the weapon’s use of light as a weapon the Aten Cannon is able to deliver its massive damage through most forms of shielding. [/SIZE]

  • [SIZE=9pt]Boom: The Aten cannon is in effect a large Solar Ionization cannon, capable of inflicting devastating damage on a target.[/SIZE]

  • [SIZE=9pt]Airy Beams: A side effect of the Airy Beams used to maintain the cohesion of the beams over long range. The constructed waveform is actually able of curving into a parabola, just a single arc, allowing them to strike an enemy from an unexpected angle, or to be shaped to cut through multiple ships.   • [SIZE=9pt]Molecular Shields: Like all energy weapons the Aten cannon’s attacks can be absorbed by a molecular shield, preventing the attacks from passing through until the shields have been worn down or overloaded.[/SIZE]

  • [SIZE=9pt]Atmosphere: The natural magnetosphere of a planet is capable of dissipating the beam, preventing it being used as an orbital bombardment weapon. (If fired within a planet’s atmosphere the weapon will still work, just art reduced distances)[/SIZE]

[SIZE=9pt]Falling further into the pit of weapons design John looked at the Solar Ionisation cannon which was proving to be so popular on the battlefield, deciding to create a version for his own use, and for use of his allies. Utilising the technology that he’d pioneered with the Helios Cannons John introduced the concept of Airy Beams to the cannons, allowing their attacks to maintain cohesion over extended distances. The Airy beams also had the side-effect of allowing the attacks to curve through space, hitting from unexpected corners, or slicing through multiple ships. While it wasn’t a revolutionary weapon, the Aten Cannon was a solid long ranged option for those wishing to engage their enemies with a long range attacks capable of cleaving through their enemies shields.
