Darth Vindictus

Darth Vindictus stood before the massive statue of Darth Vitiate, arms folded behind his back, and his helmet covered eyes gazing upwards. Dromund Kaas had many sights worth seeing, each one steeped in history thousands of years in the making. Every inch of the world was dominated by the presence of the Dark Side of the Force, and from the moment Vindictus had set foot on the planet, he had felt at home. The jungles filled with vicious predators, each designed through generations of natural selection to be at the peak form of killing potential. The mountains filled with ancient Sith ruins, each one telling the story of an ancient conqueror. Imperial City, the capital from which the Sith Empire of old had used to dominate more than half the galaxy at its height.

Vindictus had spent time exploring each of these sights, but in the end, he had settled on spending the most time before the statue of Darth Vitiate. It was an impressive construct, to be certain, standing a quarter of a kilometer in height. But what held more value, at least to Vindictus, was the history that is pertained. The man had dominated the galaxy for centuries, first through backroom plotting and schemes, and then through military might. By his hand the Sith had returned from the brink of extinction to fight their ancient foes in the Republic and Jedi. He had united the Sith together and forge an Empire in the darkness of space.

He was a being to be studied, understood, and emulated Vindictus thought. Certainly, the Sith Empire of modern times had done their part to continue the legacy of the Sith, and they had done much in their time. But now, surrounded on all sides by enemies intent on casting them down, the Sith Empire stood on the brink. Vindictus doubted it would be the end for them, the Sith were a tenacious kind. Even defeat would be seen as but a temporary delay, and in time they would likely return. Vindictus would be watching for that day, and the One Sith he was working to forge would stand ready to support that return, or stand against it, depending on how things went.

Lowering his gaze, Vindictus began to walk away from the statue, and make his return towards Imperial City.
