STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES (Required: 2 Weaknesses Minimum) :
(+) Ashin is a high-level Master with extensive knowledge, and experience derived from both a long career and the absorption of several sets of memories. She may not be able to counter or match everything thrown at her, but she pretty much always knows what it is she's facing.
(+) Her Shii-Cho technique remains the finest in the galaxy. She has gone blade-to-blade with the majority of the galaxy's most competent lightsabre duellists and won or tied against all of them.
(+) Ashin is very good with Force shields across the board. Her specialty is a proprietary full-body variant of Force Weapon, or a high-end Force protection, and she retains proportional skill with Force shields of various kinds.
(+) Ashin is very good with various traditional minor Jedi skills, such as short-term memory enhancement, vision enhancement, tapas, and so forth.
(-) Ashin's right knee has been reinjured and healed many times. At this point her limp may be psychosomatic, but is no less real.
(-) Ashin is a tank; with only a couple of partial exceptions, she has serious trouble using the Force for anything complex farther away than a handful of meters.
(-) Ashin is a Force Drain and glitterstim addict in varying degrees of recovery. This can cause issues, like the occasional death field that can affect her as much as anything.
APPEARANCE:
The top of her head doesn't bob as she walks; she moves with economy. Strong core and forearms of a high-level career martial artist. Never accused of daintiness, but capable of grace. Numerous scars. Blood trail from Spencer -- a tiny red-brown dot, like a fingerprint birthmark, over her heart. Commonly wears spacer attire, even in formal situations. Commonly carries this lightsabre and this heavy blaster pistol, and often a sniper rifle of one kind or another -- her collection is extensive.
BIOGRAPHY (Highlights):
-Biological daughter of Jedi Padawan Cerberus Olra'en (son of Je'gan Olra'en and Sky Kerberos) and a Naboo noblewoman of the Cardé family.
-Adopted by the Varanin family, a husband-and-wife trader partnership on New Cov.
-Begins Jedi training at 14, in a secret facility run by her father and other Jedi, prior to the Order's unification under Teferi Artemis and Ben Watts; 'the Force is weak with this one'. Begins to focus her combat training on Shii-Cho.
-Encounters the Cult of Shadow in her mid teens; infected with Sith Poison, though Jedi healers later suppress its effects.
-Winds up in the Jade Words, a government in the Unknown Regions. Helps found the Jade Empire and defend it against the deadliest threats of the Unknown Regions. Serves as a marine and a commander of small capital ships. Reaches the rank of Lieutenant Commander.
-Returns to the galactic mainstream as a Jedi Knight of unimpressive power. Convinced to take Temap, a Mon Calamari boy of low aptitude, as her first Padawan.
-With a gray Jedi named Tamzar Ranox, captures the Dark Lord Kishkumen, a high-ranking member of the Cult of Shadow. Temap kills Kishkumen while the Dark Lord is unconscious, earning a comprehensive death mark from the Cult.
-The Cult chases them to Ossus, where Temap is killed and Ashin is infected with a variant of Sith Poison which walls her off from all of the Force that does not involve the Dark Side.
-Struggling with a Jedi Shadow's strong suggestions that she can still 'do good', Ashin goes undercover but refuses to use the Force for a year. She lives on Trevel'ka, a planet composed entirely of slums. Tamzar Ranox becomes her lover.
-Tracked down and captured by the Cult of Shadow, she is infected with a further three variants of Sith Poison.
-Returns to hiding on Trevel'ka, and abandons Tam Ranox for his own safety. Eventually she is tracked down by an Unknown Regions Dark Lord who offers her a job keeping his Dark Jedi in line through order, teamwork, patriotism and the rule of law. She accepts, becoming a Sith Lord and a major part of the Sith'ari Centrality's training program.
-Trains under Sirella Valkner as First Apprentice.
-Aids in a defensive campaign against a Charon incursion and the Cult of Shadow.
-Accidentally destroys a major Force artifact, La-Reia's Crystal, while attempting to kill the head of the Cult. In the process, which she barely survives, she 'deepens the well', turning her minor Force potential into something competitive but barely manageable.
-Infiltrates the Cult's headquarters during the final battle, turns some of its most powerful members, and claims its most powerful artifact. Finishes her training in Force Storm.
-Turns against the Sith'ari Centrality, breaks the power of its Dark Lord, and slaughters its Dark Jedi and Sith.
-Returns to the galactic mainstream. Recovers the Kaiburr Crystal. Begins work as Emperor Moridin's enforcer, maintaining his laws among the Sith.
-Stages a coup d'etat against Moridin and takes the throne of the Sith Empire. Leads the Empire in its greatest period of expansion. Protects the Mandalorians from potential Sith Empire invasion on two occasions.
-Recruits a Jedi Padawan named Spencer Jacobs. Spencer assists her in preventing a civil war on Mon Calamari and overthrowing a tyrant on Gand.
-Becomes Spencer's lover. Spencer is offered the choice between leaving the Jedi Order in peace, or agreeing to report on her personal life with Ashin. When Spencer chooses to leave, a Jedi Master is sent to kill her. Ashin's opinion of the Jedi Order sinks further.
-Sith Empire expansion avoids vulnerable targets, such as the Mandalorians, and prioritizes the only force capable of standing against it: the distant Republic.
-Recovers the Dark Side's (alleged) Chosen One, an infant named Consecrai grown partially from King Adas' genes, while subjugating the Sorcerers of Rhand. Consecrai is eventually raised by Ashin and Spencer as their daughter Ibaris.
-Evacuates Dromund Kaas when Omni attacks. Rules the Empire from Korriban for a time.
-Betrayed by the Dark Council at the Battle of Roche, while duelling Grandmaster Darron Wraith. Believed dead. Discovers that radiation exposure in the Charon campaign, and over a decade of Sith poison, have given her breast cancer.
-Under the name Ori'vod ('big sister'), Ashin founds the Vagrant Fleet and draws away the best and most loyal elements of the Empire, in order to weaken it. (This process later continues with the Fringe.)
-Defends the Vagrant Fleet against the CIS and imposes penalties on Confederate leaders for the deaths of Vagrants and innocents.
-Defends Mandalore from a Sith Empire invasion; duel with Moridin ends in a hyperspace event and a draw. Rips a couple of billion souls out of Moridin and winds up as their host.
-Moridin tracks down the Vagrant Fleet and engages Ashin in a duel which ends in a draw. Seriously wounded and experiencing terminal cancer, Ashin goes to Val'Ryss Zankarr for a new body.
-The Vagrant Fleet divides. Ashin's portion begins uniting the Unknown Regions against the Ssi-Ruuk, Mnggal-Mnggal, the Ebruchi, the Abominor, and various other threats. She includes the former Jade Worlds and elements of the Sith'ari Centrality. Ashin uses the named Grand Admiral Shira Karrde. The Lords of the Fringe are born.
-Ashin, Spencer, and RC 212 rule as a military junta.
-Captured and Vongshaped; process later partially reversed.
-Marries Spencer on Varunda IX, one of the old Jade Worlds where her military career took place.
-Puts her billion souls to rest.
-Slowly returns to the Light Side, but uses a false Dark Side signature to maintain credit with her Dark Side associates.
-Forms a non-aggression pact with Supreme Chancellor Aleidis Ijet.
-Publicly reveals her identity and survival at the Battle of Atrisia.
-Defends Kayri against the Omega Protectorate. Duels Ayden Cater and at least partially wins him over.
-Assists in the defeat of Lotek'k, the Terror From Beyond.
-Eventually, Ashin is able to institute democracy and phase herself out stage by stage. She becomes an Arbiter, managing disputes between high-ranking members of the Fringe Confederation.
-Defends the planet O'reen against the Jedi. Reveals her Light Side allegiance.
-Forces the humiliating Treaty of Telos upon the Republic.
-Is recognized as a Jedi Master by Ben Watts, privately, and is given the knowledge of Force Light.
-Finally overcome by guilt, journeys to Bardotta, but the Dagoyan Masters refuse to teach her. Journeys to Dagobah, where she is confronted by the faceless millions who died under her authority. Finds her way to the Planet of the Five Priestesses, the midi-chlorian homeworld. The Five show her that she can only attain some measure of peace by giving up everything she gained through her crimes, and by paying the ultimate price.
-Journeys to the Jedi Council on Coruscant. When she realizes that their number includes people she cannot respect, and when confronted by hypocrisy equal to her at her worst, she leaves. Through a window.
-Aids in the Omega Protectorate invasion of the CIS, in retribution for her lost Vagrants.
-Aids the Mandalorians against the New Order on several occasions, at one point outmaneuvering seven-to-one capital ship odds while inflicting heavy losses, at another tearing down the Sith Temple on Bosph.
-Recognized as having completed a verd'goten and becomes an honorary member of Clan Ordo.
-Attends the Jedi Convocation on Sigma Station. Asks the assembled Councils and leaders of various Jedi groups to give her justice for her crimes. She recommends Force severing of one kind or another, or death. She is Force severed to the level of a Padawan and begins her career over again.
-Resigns as Arbiter of the Fringe due to an inability to compel good behavior from Masters. Sells or donates her remaining Sith artifacts. Takes Spencer as her Master. Trains with various Jedi and Jedi factions, including academies on Tython and Ossus.
-Agrees to consult on Subach-Innes' development of Confederate warships, and begins selling relevant information to Ayden Cater.
-Serves as a ranger on Korriban, keeping the planet's threats contained and monitoring unregistered traffic to and from the surface. Balances this duty with training under Spencer and raising Ibaris.
-Forges a Force halberd for Sarge Potteiger.
-Fights the One Sith at the Second Battle of Alderaan.
-Fights Darth Odium; though the duel ends in a draw, he successfully reawakens her addiction to Force Drain
-Successfully completes a Master trial at the hands of Spencer Jacobs
-Completes the forging of Ravening
-Begins a campaign of raids across the Outer Rim, aimed at specific targets. Steals Thanatos Station from Styx, and the Odacer-Faustin Sith Temple.
