Description:

The Ashikaga is a curved, slender, single-edged blade purposed for use in combat. Forged in the fires of a hold on Dantooine, Sakon Mitsumoto hand-made the sword with an intent of self-defense. Considering the hostile wildlife and possibility of raiders on an outer rim world, he made especially sure to forge one of the best quality swords possible. Using a durasteel and titanium alloy, he wanted to make it durable enough to prevent chipping and breaking but also retaining the slenderness and lightweight make of the ancient style.

The blade itself is seventy centimeters in length with an inscription near the hilt that reads "Dum Spiro Spero", which means "While I breathe, I hope." While the make and design of the sword is fairly simplistic in nature, it more than gets the job done. It's seen action and has been used over the years by Sakon himself before passing it down to his son: Kenshi. The primary intent of the sword was mainly for self-defense, but ended up being the best gift a son could ever receive on his coming-of-age celebration.

Kenshi Mitsumoto often used the sword for tribal defense, upholding the laws of his village, and even hunting to hone his skills and provide for the clan. The Ashikaga is a simple sword, most of its value is sentimental. The sheath is oak finished with a layer of protective agents to prevent aging and damage.

All in all, it's a simple sword with a unique design. Fairly lightweight and durable. It gets the job done.
