Dragite crystal used a power source will allow the blade to resonate loudly. This will cause minor sonic damage to be inflicted upon contact (varying degrees, according to blade power adjustment). The Duranium used to craft the hilt provides some additional strength, while still remaining fairly light.
Weaknesses:
This saber lacks a bifurcating cyclical-ignition pulse, and cannot be used underwater. While the Dragite crystals are largely an advantage, there is a downside – when used on the highest blade power setting, the blade resonates very loudly when struck, and may even disorient the user, if caught unprepared.
Description:
Isla Ashen ventured far into the mountains of M’haeli in order to locate the Dragite crystals she needed to complete her saber. While seeking shelter within a mountain cave, she was able to imbue her crystal and assemble her lightsaber – a very important milestone for the new Knight of Ren. Despite Isla’s aversion to planning, she had put a great deal of thought into the type of saber she wanted to create. In terms of aesthetics, she wanted something dark, minimal, and sleek. The hilt is crafted from black Duranium, this produced the simple appearance that Isla had wanted, and also served to increase the durability. In terms of components, her saber is fairly standard; she did not feel the need to load it up with bells and whistles. The features she did include were chosen based on their practicality – a pressure grip that would deactivate the saber if dropped or pulled from her hand, and an adjustment knob to dial the blade’s power up or down based upon the situation. She felt the latter would be especially useful in combination with her lightsaber’s use of Dragite crystals. As the crystals will cause her blade to resonate when struck, she can use the power adjustment to tweak the amount of sonic damage induced. While even on the highest setting, the damage inflicted would still be considered fairly minor, the sound would still cause disorientation and perhaps broken focus.
