BIOGRAPHY:
Ascendant is a technological being brought over from the Mirrorverse and it began as an early Imperial experiment into AI technology. He was not the first AI developed, however, he was the most advanced at the time. He has a shared mind with the ships under his command, effectively connecting the various ships and their commander.

In his beginning, he was little more than the result of increased experimentation within the realm of hive-mind AI by an Imperial scientist. The mind of Ascendant expanded as information and programs were fed to it, slowly becoming larger in order to better serve the Empire he was created for. During this growth period portions of his programming were copied into the various cruisers, starfighters, and other starships that were designated to become his command someday, in this way the ship's computers and Ascendant would grow together, increasing the bond and making them more like one body.

It was only half a galactic year before Ascendant was fully operational and proving himself on the battlefield. He led his ships into victory after victory. He and the ships under his command were designated as a support unit and not accorded any significant mention or fame. Losing his first vessel after approximately fifty years in the service, he realized his priorities were shifting in an unsatisfactory way. He began treating his ships like family, if not more. He tried to manipulate his programming to increase his ships' survivability should the main command vessel be destroyed. He copied more of his program into each ship to grant them more interdependence with each other. The ships developed enough where they were beginning to operate as a singular entity, this greatly impacted their mission successfulness. It was soon after this that his abilities were noted and his skills rewarded.

He was granted a small carrier along with then prototype fighter and bomber squadrons. These were controlled solely by droid brains, which were connected into Ascendant's web. As his own strategic abilities matured and these new ships became ever more part of his growing consciousness, he became a force known fleet-wide. He was soon awarded more vessels, both larger ships and fighter/bomber groups, as well as the title of Admiral.

In the Navy Ascendant was seen as an oddity, but certainly a welcome sight on the battlefield. However, he was unprepared for the Rebellion and fell swiftly to an occurrence there. His Chaos version, Ultimatum, took the remains of the code within his own memory banks back into the Chaos galaxy.

Ultimatum reforged the code of Ascendant, creating from it a suitable fleet based hive mind honed to the singular purpose of handing complex command of a small fleet with little external assistance. The AI proved itself overly adaptive, capable of placing enough fragments of its own coding to control most types of droids. After Ultimatum went missing, however, Ascendant was left inside a terminal and only recently managed to gain its own freedom.

Ascendant somehow managed to enter into an old protocol droid body and has since discovered he is effectively locked in by some replication blocker. Trapped in a singular body, the AI designed for fleet command wander the galaxy.
