Description:
The AS Smartband is for lack of a better term a datapad crammed into a wristwatch.
This technology is neither new, nor mind blowing, it is however quite useful. The AS Smartband has all of the capabilities of a regular Datapad. It is capable of mass data storage, communicating and displaying a holoraphic image, accessing the holonet, and contains many other smaller features such as clocks, calendars, and certain models for padawans even contain games.
The thing that makes the AS Smartband so special is its encryption. Unlike many other datapads that exist the AS Smartband holds a high level of cyber security. This means it is far more difficult to slice into, and far more difficult to crack. When one is a Jedi Knight with sensitive information, such a thing is invaluable, especially considering that all the information is carried on your wrist.
The other thing that makes the AS Smartband more than a simple watch is its life form scanner.
This scanner, though having only a range of fifteen meters due to its size, is capable of detecting most any life form within that range. This is helpful in a number of ways, both in combat and in rescue missions.
Currently, Astraeus Industrial subsidizes the AS Smartband completely, rolling it out as the first product to the Jedi Order and giving them away to any that can prove themselves a Jedi of The Republic.
