Approved Tech Artemis Pilot Suit

Description: Starships and starship accessories, if you were going to make and sell a ship, you might as well make money from what the customer is going to buy along with said ship. The Artemis suit was designed to take a pilot from launch to when they got back to the hanger and to keep them safe from whatever happened to their ship in the meantime. To that end design teams started from the moment the ship blew up. A sturdy thermal underlay to protect from the fireball of a late ejection, ambient heat loss/gain, and close laser passes was the first thing the designers added. The next layer was a thin compression g-suit to assist the pilot during high speed maneuvers, it also doubles as the pressure balancer in the event of decompression. Following that is the outer most layer for much of the suit, a weave of flex-armor to protect the wearer from explosion propelled shrapnel and other space debris. Lastly a light Duraplast shell was created for the torso, shoulders, and helmet to provide further protection for vital organs, boost pilot confidence in the suit's protectiveness, as well as providing solid anchor points for secondary functions.



There is a visual beacon on each shoulder as well as a locator transponder in the left that can broadcast either a name or a personal identification number if in a military. Both activate automatically on contact with a vacuum but can be switched off by the user at any time before or after ejection to prevent detection if needed. Though most pilots prefer rescue by nearly anyone over a slow death in space. Also included is a set of six flares attached to the top of the left boot reminiscent of the ones found on the Rebel Flight Suit. Easy to use, you just snap off the base to release an attached pull-sting that launches the flare.



The helmet does little to impede vision or head movement for most humanoids and the visor both polarizes and comes with a blast shield that automatically lowers on ejection. On its own the suit can provide oxygen and sustain the wearer for five hours. More if connected to an ejection seat that carries its own oxygen tank or recycler via the cheek hoses. Safety valves in the helmet and seat connectors close if a tube is cut to preserve oxygen, routing the remaining supply through the other or switching to the suit reserve if both are compromised. Lastly the helmet contains a com-link and a water nipple attached to a 1 liter reservoir.
