COMBAT INFORMATION
- Availability: Common.
- Deployment: Mass.
- Strengths & Weaknesses:
- Strengths:
- Imperial Tradition: The Imperial Army is incredibly hard to rout, showing exceptional courage in the face of overwhelming odds.
- Slava Imperiya!: The Army is restless in a defensive battle, and is best suited for mass wave assaults. With a warcry from their officers, they will go once again into the breach and charge into enemy lines.
- Weaknesses:
- Poorly Equipped: On the whole, the Imperial Army is given the bare necessities to do what is done. Czelosmertian industry can't support things like communications equipment for every soldier, advanced medical supplies, and even an abundance of ammo at times.
- Poorly Trained: Imperial Army bootcamp consists of marching, beatings, screaming, and outdated training of outdated tactics with outdated equipment.
- Description:
The Imperial Army of Zhilaseraya has protected the Czelosmertian people throughout the ages. While they may seem to serve as part of the pomp and circumstance of the nobility with how often they march through the royal sectors, when the ceremonial dress comes off they are a force to be reckoned with. Comprised mostly of fresh conscripts, the Army has a hard time keeping its hardened veterans in with enlistment periods being so short. Coupled with poor training and equipment, the army's effectiveness in combat is usually low at the beginning of a war.
Serving the Czar with undying loyalty, the Army is kept experienced in war due to frequent rebel uprisings on Zhilaseraya. However, having to fight the same battles against guerillas again and again, they have little experience against other recognized armed forces. Regardless, this endless, constantly restarting rebellion keeps them somewhat trained as the years go on. Having only fought foreign armed forces once in a defensive war over two centuries ago, their generals have little idea what to do if confronted with another legitimate army besides throwing their men at them and seeing what works.
As a result, the Imperial Army tends to get in prolonged engagements at range, going on the offensive whenever a slight weakness is perceived. Basic strategies like pincer movements or flanking is not a trademark tactic of your average field grade officer, as a result they will opt to rely on the brutal nature that is a Czelosmertian engaged in close combat with the enemy.
