District: Ardonia Mining District

Size: Small

Wealth: Slum

Population Density: High

Demographics: 100% Tsup

Surface: Underground

Geography: Relatively small and circular near the surface, but spreading out in all directions like a maze underground.

Air Quality: Recycled, hot and humid

Points of Interest: The bazaar. Near the surface is a wide flat open space. Here is one of the only places where outsiders can mix with the Tsup to sell them goods under hastily erected stalls. Great canvas sheets of all colours separate the different stalls. In the underground chamber the smells of all the different foods being cooked mingle in the air.

Conform/Revolt: These citizens virtually never speak with outsiders. The Tsup are said to have served the Emperors for thousands of years with unyielding loyalty.

Description: These caverns range deep underground, but very, very few people have laid eyes on them. The mining of the precious gems beneath Imperial Centre is left only to the Tsup, who inhabit the district and are rarely seen outside it. These creatures are stout, strong and hardy and well suited to the mines. Those that have seen them describe their pointy ears, grey skin and noseless faces. Each cavern typically has habitable buildings constructed within it, to keep the workers close to the mines. Sometimes these structures reach up from the cavern floor, sometimes they hang from the ceiling. Othertimes dwellings are carved out of the cavern walls on one side. The Tsup live in tightly knit family groups, often with as many as ten living in a single chamber a few metres across. They spend little time in their dwellings except to rest between work shifts.

The caverns range in size and shape. However most of the work is done in tight corridors drilled down to form the mines. Down many corridors one will find strange carvings. No Tsup will ever talk about these, but they almost seem religious in nature. Yet they are abstract in design, certainly not like any carvings of the Emperor...

History: In reality the Tsup are the Yuuzhan Vong. Long ago they refused to obey an Emperor who ruled the Galaxy with his vast war machines. Their worlds were razed, their fleets destroyed and their castes broken. The True Way was extinguished from history, and almost no trace of the Yuuzhan Vong religion has survived. Yet the carvings in the walls found in the district might be recognisable to some of the denizens of our own Galaxy as members of the Yuuzhan Vong pantheon.

Hello, @Raziel. I'll be your judge today, and you will like it. ;)

Looks good, though I'd like you to flesh out the description a bit more still. Is there any kind of social life beyond the mines themselves? What about festivals? Habits of the inhabitants?
Maybe elaborate on the bazaar some more. In general... aim for giving people a greater sense of the prevalent atmosphere and such.

  • For shame.

Apart from that typo, I spy nothing technical that needs fixing. Tag me when you've fleshed this out. :)
