Location: Tokmia

Affiliation: First Order

Population: Urban Center

Demographics: 44% Human, 52% Oku, 4% Other

Points of Interest:
  • FOCIE Research and Monitor Facility: Built beneath the city, you can spot an entrance off to the right, it's small but it's there. Members of both the FOCIE and the local Aridente Bayamon Engineering work here to keep the city together. Checking for structural weaknesses, cracks and any fissures or pressure that might be too much for any one side to handle.
  • Dr. Juana Alto Anthropological Center: Most who have grown up in Aridente recall the story of Dr. Juana Alto and how she loved the study of culture, technology, and progress. Most of all how she loved the way it all interacted with one another, the Alto Anthropological Center has recently been recognized by the First Order Division of Science as one of the top five anthropological places of study within First Order territory. Acceptance rates here are low, rates for those seeking grants and getting approved grants are even lower.
  • Hydroponic Greenhouse: The Greenhouse as it is called is the largest facility here on Aridente and has the most important job, growing the city's food. While the city still relies on imports and supplies, the Greenhouse takes pressure away from supply lines and enables the city to grow food on their own. Agricultural science, botany, herbology and many other plant based sciences have started to invest in Aridente and build their own labs around the Greenhouse.
  • Salt Water Treatment: Perhaps the most important facility on Aridente, it converts the local salt water into clean fresh drinking water, with improved technology brought in by the First Order, there has been an increase in treatment production which has in turn resulted in a cleaner, better and more hydrated Aridente.
  • Caguas Expeditions: A museum and expedition company, the museum teaches and displays the history of Aridente while also hiring out to those seeking to fulfil Mr. Caguas and company's original quest in finding the abandoned mining colony.
Description: Aridente is a large tundra city, with a population so densely packed you're not entirely sure how many people live in one floor much less a building. Speeder traffic is quite strict here as there is no room for a simple accident, not with how closely built each building is. The First Order's Corps of Imperial Engineers along with technology from Ryoone and Riflor have created a massive supportive ring to help with city expansion (what little there can be left of it). Supplies are trucked in with large repulsor-based vehicles and through the starport that faces away from the mountain top. Massive support columns built deep into the bedrock mean that the FOCIE have a permanent facility beneath the city to monitor stress and weight. The massive ring not only supports the city but helps relieve the burden from the support columns, research is being conducted to find more ways to help the burgeoning urban centre.

History: Ardiente, a city of warmth, and community, built into mountains along the snow topped tundra of Tokmia. Founded by Eli Caguas, Ardiente was built to be an urban centre where resources were shared and the people grew to help one another. Eli Caguas came to Tokmia with the hopes of learning more of the ancient Figg Excavation and learning about the abandoned mining colony here. Instead, he found arable soil, a forest and ore in which to found a city. Caguas had with him, a woman by the name of Juana Alto who was a xenocultural anthropologist. Dr. Alto accompanied Mr. Caguas as she wanted to study the Oku up close and in person after hearing of stories of how they waited for offworlders to return to their world. Juana Alto, Stella Rojas, and Fajardo Guyama, along with Cidra Hondo were among those who originally came with Mr. Caguas on the expedition.

Over the next few decades, word of the settlement spread. At the time the One Sith had begun their tyrannical reign, and many were eager to escape them and the Republic both, having had enough. At least that is the tale the refugees spoke of when they arrived at Aridente. What had started off as an expedition turned into the founding of a city, and a way of life. There isn't much around Aridente, and the importing of foodstuffs, building materials and medicine weighed heavily on them all. So it came as both a blessing and a curse when the First Order's banners marched across the sector, as soon First Order officials were landing. Hoping to find something of use. Carol Alto, Juana's descendant greeted the First Order and explained the situation to them.

Intrigued, the First Order began to ship supplies and annexed the territory just as they gained dominion over the sector as a whole. Carol informed the First Order of her family's original quest, and watched as over the span of a few months. The Imperial Order brought in technology and helped to create an even larger and more prosperous Aridente. Although, not everyone agreed with Carol's decision to welcome the First Order to Aridente, but no one could deny that they were in great financial need of a bigger and more well-financed government to assist them. The First Order has begun to establish survey teams to try and locate the mining colony and to see if any crystals are within the area. Nothing spectacular mind you, but with technological advancements come to the need for more, and that includes Kyber crystals and perhaps other ordinary lightsaber crystals that could be studied.

Nothing as of yet has been found, but the First Order with Carol Alto's help continues to look.

Intent: To create lore for First Order worlds, and give our faction member more places to role-play with.
