Intent: To create the first Command ship for the Black Suns
Development Thread: Here
Manufacturer: Koensayr Manufacturing
Model: Apollyon Class Command Carrier
Affiliation: Black Suns
Modularity: Hanger
Production: Minor
Material: Durasteel, Turadirum, Glasteel
Description: Rather than risk such a heady investment as a command ship in direct combat, the Suns went with a ship that could stay behind their lines and command all their forces in a system from safety without being a super obvious target blasting away with hundreds of guns. Instead she stays protected while she orchestrates a symphony of violence as her fighters raise a choirs of screaming. The Apollyon achieves this with her advanced sensors and CGT, scouring through the battlefield and countermeasures for threats and directing fighters and ships of the line on where to fire and where to go, turning the whole fleet into one cohesive unit with her extensive command and control centers.

Aesthetically the Apollyon is as much a work of art with her beautiful lines and polished white hull as she is a military ship. Her guns are decentralized and placed to provide maximum coverage along her vectors with special attention placed around the hanger doors and the recessed engine banks. Guests have their own special area of the ship divided into two high-security areas rife with observation ports and comforts not often found on military ships tucked away on the dorsal superstructure. In fact, most of the dormitories and other 'waste space' not necessary for combat is tucked away there to absorb damage sent to where Destroyers traditionally house their command bridge. The Apollon's command deck is in fact buried deep in the hull and sheathed behind a protective armoring and meter thick blast door made of turadium as is its engineering and reactor sections. The shield generators are also recessed into the hull and covered with a nice thick armor plating preventing a stray fighter from destroying them single-handily. Forward of the bridge is most of the ship's cargo holds and the bow section contains much of the sensor equipment.

The ventral structure houses the massive hanger itself and has multiple landing decks for ships and repair bays. Each of the three doors (N, NE, & NW) can service the whole bay and operate independently of each other. Furthermore each has its own particle shield capable of rapidly raising and lowering between fighters entering and leaving. Internal pressor fields help contain explosions in the bay if the operators are prepared, and when combined with external fields and tractor beams, can even pull unwanted material from the bay. Then, if any boarders manage to make it past all the external defenses, they'll find that for all it's splendor, the Apollon is a charnel house of death for the unwelcome.

Auto blasters, sonic emitters, force fields, and thick ray-shielded blast doors protect the ship and its crew from boarders and decompression, much of it designed to work against force users and their lightsabers. Most of the defenses are hard to defend against at all with sections of the ship designed to be quickly vented or gassed around sensitive areas and some sections of corridor can be electrified at will, but perhaps the most insidious and fear-inspiring is also the deadliest. With the right codes someone with bridge access can manually control the grav-plating throughout the ship, turning them off, dialing them up, or even reversing them to send intruders head-first into the ceiling. Most terrifying of all though is when one panel is dialed up and the one after it it reversed, creating a massive gravitational differential millimeters apart and capable of crunching bones. Finally marines are duty-stationed nearby the hanger and the airlocks along with droid racks, and weapons lockers are placed throughout the ship for the crew. On top of all this, doors and lifts are operated by biometrics or RFID badges for visitors and are keyed to sections of the ship they're allowed in. Lifts and corridors outside of the visitor area are only labeled with an alpha-numeric string as opposed to 'bridge' or 'engineering' just to make things difficult. This does make things a lot harder on new crew members but they make it by with the help of more experienced crew and writing down the codes of where they're supposed to be. Brig time is liberally handed out for writing location names next to these codes however as security is clearly paramount.
