I personally use Ableton Live. Though that's because I got it with my keyboard and after purchasing the Suite I couldn't be bothered to change software. I hear FL Studio is easier to use, but in the end I think it all boils down to preference.

I've used Cubase 5 before, it's a slightly hard and expensive software to use. I might pick up FL Studios and see what I can do with it.
