Any takers? Could do with a master.... [RP]

He shook his head, strolling the Sullust temple, bored. He was masterless, had been since his time in the alliance. His time was spent wandering corridors or reading, almost hoping a master would reach out to him. He wanted to learn, had an itch to learn more about the force and how it could become an ally to him, had an itch to become a knight at long last.

He ducked into the library yet again, slowly strolling over to the chair in the corner. He used the force to take a book on said force from a shelf as he passed. Shaking his head again, he sat. Opening the book, turning a page. The same routine every single day. He sat in plain brown Jedi robes, Sasori robes too formal for just wondering around. Turning another page, staring blankly at the words he already knew.

He just hoped someone would claim him.

Judah sat in the corner. He hated libraries, especially Jedi ones, but this is where he needed to be. There was a push to restart a Corellian order of sorts, and Judah was on Jedi on the front of that push. He couldn't very well get work done if he didn't have all the information. The natural leader always took matters into his own hands at some point or another. His rebellious attitude at times is what kept him from being a master, no matter how good of one he'd be.

He saw a Chiss reading, the same Chiss he'd seen every day for the last three weeks. It was time for him to do something. The kid was going to flounder if he didn't. Judah out his book down and walked over the table. Looking over the student's shoulder Judah spoke.

"That's some great reading there. Three weeks in the same book, same page. You should know it by now. Who is showing you how to apply it?"

Roth strode into the library, datapad in hand, lightsaber and blaster on his hip. He needed research for his armor and a few other things. It would be interesting to see what it would be like to return home and what had changed. He'd heard the president had been assassinated by the Sith. That should certainly harden the people and the Jensaarai against them, in light of their perceived failure.

He paused. Someone else was there, a younger one by the looks of it, and bored by the datapad. More traditionalist, going by the robes. Another Jedi he'd seen around, though didn't know the name.

"You two look bored. Might want to get out of the library and go do something. Race some swoops maybe."

That was another question. How to apply things. Made things very interesting, no doubt.

He would look up, eyes fixing on Judah. He listened to the question, eyeing the page again. He shook his head, knowing full well no-one was teaching him how to apply it. He thought for a moment about how to word what he was going to say. He looked down on the page again, the basics of force sprint.

"Currently sir, currently no-one. I've been masterless since day one, just reading and attempting to put into practice. It's not working well, every time I try to use force sprint I end up jogging on the spot" he sigh lightly, shaking his head. "So I hang out in here, still trying to learn how to do it, almost hoping a Jedi looking for a padawan will find me and teach me" he chuckled lightly.

He watched as Master Tillian stepped over. He nodded as he listened, shrugging. "I'm just trying to learn sir, just trying to learn the basics from a book and force them on myself. It's not going well. Racing isn't something I have a liking for, no offence of course. Some people love it, most people do. I just think it's reckless, stupid"

"A race sounds like a great idea actually!"

Judah reached for the book and closed it. He patted the Chiss on the shoulder and started walking out toward the courtyard. He was hoping the kid would follow. Maybe the pilot could help with that.

"The only way to learn how to use the force for sprinting is to do it. Less conversation, more action. Let's go."

Roth grinned. A race would be an excellent idea, especially with an attitude like that. Waiting around for a master? What a waste that was, especially with studying the same thing for so long without ever thinking to ask for hope or taking charge and seeking someone out.

"A sprinting race..." He nodded after a moment and rolled his neck. "Sounds fun and educational." There was a touch of a smirk to it, but not cruel. He was looking forward to this, especially since he himself did not know how to use the Force to sprint. It'd be embarrassing, but that was the point. Humility was the hardest lesson to learn and it was something that had never sunk in for him. He, at least, was aware of such a thing. It was fun sometimes to embarrass one's self in public. Good to make other's laugh.

He nodded, giving up. He prepared to start following the two gentlemen from the room, noting how both of them stood in a higher force rank than him. He stood slowly from the chair, cloak flowing beneath him. He shrugged lightly, following them from the library out into the main hallway. The issue wasn't that he hated laughing at himself, he was all for that. It was the fear of messing up in front of two Knights.

He stood in the hallway, allowing his eyes to flick between the two men as they headed out onto the enclosed courtyard. The only issue with having an academy on a toxic planet, everything had to be enclosed. He used to love Voss because of the garden, out here it was mostly synthetic. Again, the downside of having an academy on a toxic planet.

He decided to try sprinting on the way down to the courtyard. He felt himself move slightly forward before he lost it again, ending up jogging once more. It was always the same, he had never managed to drag out his sprint. It was sooo annoying!

"You're never going to figure it out if you keep trying like that. It's clear you don't understand the how of what you're reading. Seriously this is way easier if you let me explain it to you."

Judah looked at both of the men. He wondered how it was a skill so simple and basic was not being taught. Perhaps it was and these two didn't know where to look. Regardless the older Knight was going to take care of it. Judah opened himself to the force and lit flow through him. He breathed in deep before letting it out slowly.

"Connect to the force, and let it flow through you. When you feel strong, push it all to your legs. Focus the force there, and begin running. It really is that simple. You can't expect to move if all you do is jog in place. You move yourself, the force enhances your natural abilities."

This wasn't rocket science, well if you read the books maybe, but Judah was always one to think one learned to use the force best by doing it, and that done well with a coach, or master as the Jedi used the term. He sighed.

"Try it now."

Roth raised an eyebrow. Now that was interesting and simple enough. He even remembered hearing a bit of that a long time ago. Like, when he was five. Well, he vaguely remembered that. Hadn't paid much attention to anything that didn't involve flying back then. It had paid off in the long run, but it carried a price.

He observed the other two as they strode to the practice area. It was strange being a knight now. He'd been an apprentice for how long was that? Nearly thirty years? Talk about taking his time through school. After failing once, of course, but that happened. Nothing wrong with that.

He rolled his neck at the instructions before closing his eyes and letting the Force flow through him. It always felt a little strained outside the cockpit, with atmosphere and in this case, rock, between him and the stars, but it was still there. Peace and calm. Total quiet. It slowly welled up inside him like some burbling stream, buoying him up.

"Right, just run then?"
