ADVANCED SYSTEMS
  • Mon Calamari Shield Designs
  • Compartmentalized Construction
  • Extensive Hangar
  • Myrmidon Vertical Hangar
  • Advanced Navigation Systems
  • Ship Mangement Droid Brain
Strengths:
  • BYOS: Equipped with specialized vertical hangars in its underbelly, the Starchild, just like its Colony-Class sisters, has the ability to carry 4 Myrmidon frigates
  • Cavernous Hangars: Several Hangars located in the underbelly of the Starchild hold hundreds of starfighters and shuttles
  • Outer Rim Charm: Modified and repaired by Outer Rim Coalition engineers at Silvia Shipyards, the ship has been heavily modified with Mandalorian, Chiss, Mon Calamari, and Quarth technologies making it truly unique including a compartmentalized design and the fast recharging redundant shields of the Mon Calamari.
Weaknesses:
  • Invite Only: Docked Capital Ships count towards fleet limits in engagement threads where limits are specified
  • Engine Blind Spot: With massive engines and limited weapon coverage the Starchild had no way to protect its engines from assault
  • Exposed Bridge: While not the typical bridge tower of Imperial design, the Colony-Class battlecruisers did have an exposed bridge dome. While more heavily armored than typical bridge towers, it was still an obvious weak point in combat.
  • Electronic Warfare: The advanced droid brain-based ship computer can be sliced into either locally or through a powerful electronic warfare suite. What this means for the crew is up to the imagination of the Slicer as the ship computer manages most of the large functions of the ship such as frigate/corvette launch bays, internal gravity, internal defenses, and is tasked with regulating the ship's generator.
  • Home: Technically an Ugly now, it also has many of the typical flaws of uglies. On top of the unfamiliar technology the crew has to deal with, the reactor is incredibly vulnerable powering all of these systems, powerful Ion attacks have the tendency to shut down weapons and fry whole systems despite its compartmentalized design, artificial gravity can sometimes randomly switch off randomly during intense combat, and the crew reported strange smells coming from the Cargo holds. But its home.
Description: The Colony-Class Battlecruiser was a dedicated command carrier commissioned by the Free Worlds Coalition (FWC) some time during the Great Galactic War. Less than a dozen were ever put into service by the FWC before Sith and Dark-Side allied governments wiped the coalition away, scattering its modest military forces to the wind. Many of the battlecruisers would enter Galactic Alliance Service towards the end of the war, acting as carriers and command ships in several skirmishes across Alliance, Sith Empire, First Order, and Galactic Empire space. The Starchild, the second Colony-Class battlecruiser to enter FWC service and the first to enter Alliance service, was heavily damaged in the battle of Fondor where its captain, crew, and part of its battlegroup were saved by Outer Rim Coalition Mandalorian Exiles. After retreating to the Outer Rim Coalition (ORC) world of Manas, Captain Dracken Pryce received word that the remnants of the Alliance were meeting somewhere in ORC Space. With its hyperdrive severely damaged, multiple hull breeches, a busted hangar and dozens of weapons and navigation systems offline, the ORC sponsored shipyard offered to perform extensive repairs to the vessel and its battlegroup.

A hodgepodge of engineers and shipwrights heavily modified the Colony-Class battlecruiser with scrapped parts from other designs, adding bulbous Mon Calamari shield generators across its hull, advanced Quarth navigation systems, and exotic weaponry to the ship to replace weapons systems that were destroyed. The re-fit would lower the total gun count on the battlecruiser, but would in turn allow for better allocation of power and space throughout the ship. The vertical hangars were slightly modified to conserve space and the shipyard's Mandalorian owner even gave the captain several squadrons of Mandalorian starfighters to replace those he had lost in the battle of Fondor. As the repairs slowly churned along more and more Alliance remnant forces and squadrons came to replace those that had been lost in battle. The home of Rogue Squadron was fundamentally changed, but it would live on to fight another day.

Hangar: Extreme: 42 20 Squadrons Taken up by 4 Myrmidon-Class Frigates
For consistency's sake, the 4 Myrmidons on the original version of the Colony-class Battlecruiser took up 28 squadrons worth of fighter craft. I'd like to see that remain the same. Please adjust your carried squadron numbers accordingly.

U-Wing Transports (60T) (6 Shuttles) Alliance Stealth U-Wing (2 Shuttles)

These are both combat craft (being labelled as "gunships" in their submissions), meaning they should probably be listed by squadron rather than individual ships. However, because the squadron count for both ships is the same, you could label this as a mixed squadron with something like this "1 mixed squadron of U-wing transport 60T / Alliance Stealth U-wings".

The train of thought here was the heavy modifications to the weapons systems and gutting of some of the Alliance's redundant systems in the hangars allowed for better space management, letting them cram things in better.

I can accept that reasoning from an in-character perspective. I think that this is sufficiently balanced from an OOC perspective by your listed weakness.
