Another Day On The Streets

"I don't know... I just know that whenever I get really scared things seem to catch on fire around me. That's why I try to be calm all the time," Evania replied, taking his hand and holding it. She resisted the urge to scratch at the bandage on her other hand. It was starting to itch really bad and she wanted to take it off. It would heal on it's own just fine anyway. She didn't mind having a scar. She already had lots of them. [member="Solan Charr"]

He noticed her irritation and looked at his other hand before holding it out to her as he stopped again and knelt down. "Go ahead and take off my gloves." Under his gloves would be the scarred skin of time after time when he had burned his hands, the scars were of course still there though they were fading after weeks of treatment from bacta, the force, and surgical techniques that were repairing the damaged skin. "I burned myself all the time when i learned to control it, i could teach you how to control it without getting burned if you want me to. I promise it will be ok, and with my help it should be quicker than on your own Evania."

He was offering to teach her? So then he could control fires too? She remembered him using the flames she had made in the warehouse to stop her attacker from reaching her. It would be nice have control over her strange ability. Did this mean she inherited the trait from him? Evania couldn't remember her mother even having control over fires like that, but then again her mother had been to ill to even get out of bed most of the time. She looked up at him and nodded. "I'd like it you taught me." [member="Solan Charr"]

Solan smiled and grinned as he thought about something and put his gloves back on so that the scars were hidden and away from sight. "Lets go get something to eat now, i owe you that as i keep putting it off." He couldn't stop smiling now and his hand curled around her own hand gingerly. He would be looking at her as he walked though and wondered about something. "I have a question Evania, have you ever been able to see with your eyes closed ot touched something and felt like you knew what had happened with it?"

"One time, I got stuck down in the sewers... Some mean kids threw me down an open drain... It was really dark and I shouldn't have been able to see anything. I closed my eyes because I got scared, but when I closed my eye I could see everything," Evania paused to think before continuing. "One of the knives I used... The first time I held it I remember getting a feeling that a lot of terrible things had been done with it. Is that normal?" [member="Solan Charr"]

Solan kept his thoughts to himself for moment before laughing and looking at her. "I guess people really do get stronger if they have strong parents... you are better at your gifts than i am Evania. I cant even do what you did with the knife." He couldn't help but be proud not in her abilities but having her, what had happened if he had stayed... maybe he could have helped save her mother. But now, he could protect his daughter from any and all danger. "Evania, you are going to have a bit of a surprise if you come with me... i am kind of a king now."

"So you're telling me... That not only am I your daughter.... But I am also a princess? Did you hit your head or something in that fight? This is getting more and more unbelievable. Then again I'm a ten year old who can control fire, see with her eyes closed, and apparently read the memories of objects. Stranger things have happened I guess," Evania replied, staring up at him with a skeptical expression. If someone had told her this morning that she would be meeting her father and finding out she was some kind of princess today, Evania probably would have laughed in their face. Now, she wasn't quite sure what to do, so sarcasm took over. She had gotten fairly good at it in the last few years after all. [member="Solan Charr"]

"Ya, i know, its not the most believeable of tales but i can assure you im not lying... sorry this is all... so weird. I didn't expect to find out that i had a daughter and now i just don't know how to react minus out of joy." He smiled at her as they reached the small restaurant and looked at her with a bit of a smile, he would love to see her face when she finally got to eat something that wasn't just... he didn't know what she thought of food but he was hoping this would help her. He hated to see her like this, even if she hadn't been his daughter it was wrong for her to be so... sick like.

"So where is 'home' then?" she asked as they entered the little restaurant. She didn't pay much attention anything once the smell of the place hit her nose. It smelled amazing! She felt really out of place though among the more upper class residents of Nar Shadda that occupied the establishment. Evania held Solan's hand tight and stayed as close to him as she could while they walked to their table. [member="Solan Charr"]

He laughed and looked down at her. "Don't worry, i ignore most of them too... im not exactly the most normal of kings. Trust me, they are prudes and you nor i will ever be like them." He thought about what he wanted to say though as he thought about what home was. "Home is a hard thing for me, sometimes is one place, sometimes its another. Really i cant say what home is to me because i dont know what home is to me... but i guess minus my weird speak. Our home is called Kesh in simple terms."

"And what are you doing on Nar Shadda?" Evania asked curiously. She didn't understand why anyone would want to be away from their home, especially for long periods of time. She didn't have a home anymore, and she would have given anything to have hers back. Even if it wasn't the best of places and her mother was sick, it had still been better than living on the streets. The redhead wondered what Kesh would be like. If he was a king did that mean they would be living in a palace of some kind? [member="Solan Charr"]

"I was visiting, dealing with some... other kinds of people. Its a hobby of mine to help out people when i can and where i can. Keeps me from getting lazy too so that is always a plus." He sat and waited for someone to come around and ordered some nerf steak for the both of the, before getting a look from the waiter but none the less he just shrugged. "Anyways Evania... What do you want to do first when we are done eating... maybe go to Kesh? Or would you like to meet a... odd friend or two of mine?"

"Could your friends come to Kesh?" Evania asked as she waited for their food to arrive. The young girl honestly wanted a bath before they did anything. She felt kind of gross. Proper hygiene was hard to keep up on when you lived on the streets. The last time she had had a bath was when she had met Talani. The Chiss woman had fed her and let her get cleaned up in her apartment. The woman had offered to give her an old dress of hers, but Evania had turned it down. Talani had helped her out enough by feeding her. [member="Solan Charr"]

"Maybe... im not sure though if they would like to come. Its not that great of a place so it probably wont be that appealing to be around. I dont enjoy it unless im in the garden or am working on something." He still couldn't help himself but stare at the daughter, his daughter, it felt so strange for those words to be together in the same sentence but they were... His life was certainly odd to the fullest. That much could be said about anything and everyone he knew and worked with. "By the way... you do know how to eat with silverware right... i dont mean to sound mean... just... im not sure."

"I did live in a house for a little while you know. I've only been living in the warehouse for a little over a year. My mother taught me how to eat properly, we just never had the best food. It was mostly cheap stuff she'd bring home from work. She was a cantina dancer," Evania explained, smirking at him a bit. She had never felt so at ease around anyone before. Sure, she had been scared of him at first, but he had taken such good care of her so far that she felt she could be open with him. Her true personality was making an appearance for the first time in awhile and she was a lot like Solan it seemed. [member="Solan Charr"]

"Ok ok little missy, i just wasn't sure if you could eat that or not. I mean who am i to judge someone who probably eats with her hands all the time." He smiled at her, his eyes focusing in on the girl. He wasn't sure what to say about personality but he was certainly going to have some fun with it. Her mother being a dancer though, that he knew already and looked off to the side about how he had met her. It had been a nice night, and not in the way that one would think. If Evania's mom could have gotten off a shitball like this she probably could have made it big, she was so smart. "You do know what a fork and knife are though, right Evania?"

"Well I definitely know my way around a knife, and I've seen forks a few times before. I'd like to think I'd be smart enough to figure out how such a simple device functions," the little girl replied with a grin as their food arrived. She picked up the two items in question and slowly began to cut the steak into smaller chunks. She worked with expert precision as she sliced the meat apart. This little girl definitely knew how to use a knife. After her steak was cut she stared at the knife for a few moments. "This is useless for anything that isn't food. It's weighted so badly, it'd be near impossible to throw it accurately." [member="Solan Charr"]

[member="Evania Charr"]

"Throwing knives? Good to know the talent is genetic. Trust me though, don't make a game out of it because some weird things te-..." He stopped mid sentence as he realized he was telling a Ten year old about a night that he barely brought up with adults. "Anyways, just don't make contests out of it Evania, i dont need you getting hurt. No matter how skilled you are with a blade, accidents happen and i don't need to have to get you patched up again so soon after meeting you." He smiled as hee looked at her and couldn't help but watch her while he ate at a much slower pace than she would.

"I promise I won't go looking for any fights, though they have a habit of finding me," Evania replied as she began eating her steak. After taking the first bite she stared up at Solan with a look of amazement on her face. it was probably the greatest thing she had ever tasted. She noticed that the meat was still fairly red inside, as if it hadn't been cooked all the way through. She decided she didn't mind that all, as it still tasted amazing, though there was a fair amount of red tinted juice on her plate. [member="Solan Charr"]

He watched her and smiled as she seemed to love the taste of it. His own cut to reveal itself being a tinge red still. He hadn't remembered ordering hers to be different than his but he supposed it was fine considering the kind of place they were in. Not like she was going to get food poisoning from this kind of place. But he had a sinking feeling he was going to have to get this cooked a bit too often at home. He missed the days of eating military made chow for breakfast lunch and dinner. Filled you up and never really tasted as bad as people made it out to be.
