The Galactic Slave Exchange

The Galactic Slave Exchange is an organization funded, sponsored and run by the Slave Empire. Individuals from all over the galaxy and all walks of life are welcome to come take part in the exchange in order to buy, sell or trade slaves. Not only this, but teams of slavers can buy their way into the Slave Exchange Stock Markets, allowing individuals to “buy” stock in their organizations. These stocks are bought in the form of resources donated to the organization (I.E; credits, weapons, ships etc). When these organizations take a bounty of slaves from a mission, the spoils are split between their investors.

The Slave Exchange is monitored and maintained by the Slave Driver’s Council. The council dictates who can become stock organizations, the laws dictating the exchange and the taxes levied on the buyers and sellers. If and when disputes arise within The Exchange, an appointed court of Slave Masters (chosen by the Slave Driver Council) will hear the case and decide on if the State will intervene and choose an appropriate response.

The Exchange operates in such a way as to offer complete anonymity to those who seek it. Holonet auctions and trade sessions take place periodically through encrypted channels and various privacy methods are available for those who wish to participate in the live trade market. Personal droids, holograms and varieties of shades and disguises are all allowed and welcomed in the live market.

How to obtain slaves
The exchange works through the buying, selling, trading and renting of slave laborers. However, how does a character go about trading their stock on the market? Even more, how does a character go about getting slave stock to trade on the market? The answer is simple, you must thread for them.

Those who wish to sell slaves on the market must make the active attempt to get them through threads. Obtaining slaves can be a dangerous venture, leading to bounties, jail time or worse; but to many the risk is well worth the reward. Now, let’s discuss the specifics of gaining slaves to sell for money, goods or services on The Exchange Market.

Captured slaves can be either PCs or NPCs, as both are accepted on the market; there are different rules dictating how either must be obtained however. In order for slavers to gain NPC slaves, they must complete a thread in which they capture the sentience they intend to enslave; this can be through war, piracy, kidnapping or any other wide range of activities. In order to capture a PC slave, however, both players must agree to the capturing which must take place in a thread.

Threading for Slaves
While slaves can be obtained in any thread you do, you must do a thread specifically for the purposes of collecting slaves, as all other threads have a maximum cap of 10 slaves per-thread you can earn from turning them in.

If one really wants to make true profits as a slaver, you have to participate in “Slaving Threads” (threads made specifically for the obtaining of slaves). Slaving threads are threads in which you and any partners you have craft a story in which capturing slaves is the main goal of the thread; though this does not mean there can be secondary goals unrelated to slaving (meaning threads such as invasions, dominions, dev threads and the like will not be accepted as Slaving Threads). Once the thread is completed and verified by a Slave Exchange moderator, you will receive one slave for every post in your thread; the bigger the thread the larger the payout. Each thread has a minimum post count of thirty but has no maximum cap to worry about.

Claiming, Selling & Utilizing Slaves
Once you have completed your thread, it is time to claim your slaves. You do this by going to the Slave Exchange Directory forum and creating a Slave Directory for you or your slaver team. Once this is done, you can use this thread to tag a Slave Exchange moderator and claim your slaves. The moderator will quickly review your thread and award you your slaves accordingly.

Once your slaves have been approved, there are a wide variety of options; the foremost being to sell them. Not everyone wants to go through the trouble of obtaining slaves themselves, so buying them is a much simpler option for many. It is up to you what you want to sell your slaves for. Do you want goods such as weapons or ships, or simple things like money or a special service? The choice is yours. Higher quality slaves (physically fit, attractive, force using and intelligent races) and PCs will fetch a higher price than low quality slaves (weak, ill tempered and unattractive races).

Not everyone wants to just sell their slaves though, some would rather use them for their own purposes; namely corporations and the like. In your slave directory you can keep track of the slaves you have not sold and where they are located. You can then use this information for the purposes of story and RP or to sell your slaves if the need ever arises.

Investing & Becoming a Stock Organization
Want to enslave people from a particularly protected faction? Or maybe you want to begin an expensive venture to start a slave yard company? Maybe you are a man of high standing who can’t risk being seen buying slaves. Look no further than the Slave Exchange Stock Market.

If you are a corporation or group of slavers (4 or more members), you can pay a tax to the Slave Empire to become a Stock Organization. Being a Stock Organization comes with multiple benefits that your average slavers are not privy to. Firstly, Stock Organizations are allowed to take part in special high-risk operations passed down by the Empire. Some operations are contests among the stock organizations to see who gets a large bounty of slaves at the end while others are DM’d threads that are passed out on a first come basis.

Secondly, Stock Organizations earn twice as many slaves from slaving threads and can earn a maximum of thirty slaves in non-slaving threads. Third, Stock Organizations can attract sponsors who will donate resources to their operations; allowing teams of characters to attack bigger targets such as Force User temples or cities on faction planets (a feat they might not be able to achieve otherwise). Finally, if you wish to start a corporation or other such entity that relies on slavery; you can attract potential clients via investments that can help you grown your tier level faster.

However, investors do not simply donate without the promise of payment. When an investor donates resources to an organization, that organization pledges to share their spoils with said investor. Generally, the larger the donation the larger the return at the end of the operation. Luckily, every investors gives a small bonus to the amount of slaves you earn on the operation they invested on.

Investors can choose to be paid in slaves or currency, both depleting from your overall end slave count. In the end, your organization will owe a small tax to the Empire plus what it owes your investors; what is left is split among your members in whatever fashion you have agreed upon. Not every operation will be successful though, which can lead your organization into debt if you aren’t careful. It is also dangerous to allow too many investors to donate, as it may result in your members receiving no stock from the thread or even a deficit putting your organization in debt to an investor(s).

The Grand Auction is an event held by The Slave Empire, prior to which a “Grand Hunt” is held. The Grand Hunt is a galactic call to arms for all slavers to fetch the highest quality slaves they can (namely PCs and Force Users). These slaves are then announced to all factions in the galaxy and put on open market where the highest bidder of goods or currency earns the slaves. Jedi can be sold back to their allies, or put into Sith bondage. Soldiers of the Fringe ransomed back to their fellows or made into examples for the Omega Pyre.

All goods and/or currencies used to buy slaves during the Great Auction are split between the government and the slave owner. If high grade warships are put forward as payment, it is not uncommon for the government to take the entire prize and compensate the slave owner with credits or smaller vessels.
