Nina Vi'dreya
Faces
Insomnia didn't befit Nina Vi'dreya like it had Yvonne Evoros. Whatever else they were, mercenaries were so universally fethed up (who else could be drawn to the prospect of doing dirty work for money?) that most within that world didn't begrudge each other the ugly ways it might come out. And maybe the kind and trustworthy had their reasons for fearing what they'd find in their dreams just as much as the damaged and dishonest, but that certainly wasn't a question she needed to answer. Uncertainty spread. She was only safe so long as no questions were asked.
Luckily, what did befit Nina was a passionate work ethic. If she was somewhere new every day, keenly throwing herself into her work and her research, the string of successive late nights became admirable rather than suspicious. Staying those extra hours showed commitment, arriving so early each morning showed enthusiasm, and onlookers lost interest after the fact. Nina Vi'dreya was designed to avoid alarming even the Empire's more paranoid few, and by now Evoros was confident in her ability to chose the right mask.
The space station was quieter this time of night, but still hummed with the activity of those last few minutes that stretched into last few hours before a task was complete and the scientists at the helm ready to call it a night. Nina strolled past brightly lit hallways, stopping at the observatory.
"You alright there?" A high, melodic voice addressed the small dark haired woman standing over a hologram of the planets they orbited. The technology was meant to predict movement within the solar system, and did so better than most similar mapping devices provided the user cared enough about space to learn its oddly complex system. "The instructions are useless, believe me. I can help--I mean, if you want?"
Or provided the user cared enough about staying in character. Evoros was nothing if not dedicated.
