Insomnia didn't befit Nina Vi'dreya like it had Yvonne Evoros. Whatever else they were, mercenaries were so universally fethed up (who else could be drawn to the prospect of doing dirty work for money?) that most within that world didn't begrudge each other the ugly ways it might come out. And maybe the kind and trustworthy had their reasons for fearing what they'd find in their dreams just as much as the damaged and dishonest, but that certainly wasn't a question she needed to answer. Uncertainty spread. She was only safe so long as no questions were asked.

Luckily, what did befit Nina was a passionate work ethic. If she was somewhere new every day, keenly throwing herself into her work and her research, the string of successive late nights became admirable rather than suspicious. Staying those extra hours showed commitment, arriving so early each morning showed enthusiasm, and onlookers lost interest after the fact. Nina Vi'dreya was designed to avoid alarming even the Empire's more paranoid few, and by now Evoros was confident in her ability to chose the right mask.

The space station was quieter this time of night, but still hummed with the activity of those last few minutes that stretched into last few hours before a task was complete and the scientists at the helm ready to call it a night. Nina strolled past brightly lit hallways, stopping at the observatory.

"You alright there?" A high, melodic voice addressed the small dark haired woman standing over a hologram of the planets they orbited. The technology was meant to predict movement within the solar system, and did so better than most similar mapping devices provided the user cared enough about space to learn its oddly complex system. "The instructions are useless, believe me. I can help--I mean, if you want?"

Or provided the user cared enough about staying in character. Evoros was nothing if not dedicated.

Imogen’s mind was a peculiar thing.

It could latch onto topics, forcing the young woman to spend her days researching at the very least once a day - or her days didn’t feel complete, leaving her restless.

It was the same when it came to foreign objects. Having grown up having no knowledge of the current technology, things continued to surprise her - even though Jacob had taken a great deal of time introducing her to new things. There seemed to always be something new, and if Imogen was in that particular mind frame, there was a safe bet she would be spending countless hours learning and messing with things.

Her disability didn’t stop her - though it did make things more difficult.

Currently, she stood within the Space Station, over a hologram of planets. She had sent her droid away, claiming she could handle things on her own for a bit, and she had realized shortly after that it had been a mistake, though she wouldn’t admit it out loud. Imogen hated feeling like she always had to rely on the droid (who was more than happy to help her, having been built for this exact purpose). She was attempting to find the speech feature, allowing her to scroll through things quickly, a visual of the map forming in her head - but every button she hit it seemed to cause a larger problem.

A huff had escaped her lips, and she was about to hit another button when a voice called over to her. Turning her head around sharply, Imogen pushed out in the Force gently, allowing herself to locate where the voice had come from, a blurry form taking shape within her mind, pale eyes staring hauntingly into the woman’s.

Keeping quiet for a moment, Imogen allowed herself to get a feel for the woman, deciding if it was worth it to allow her to help, or if she should just brush the woman off. Finally, she nodded her head, a small smile pulling at her lips, the stark contrast of the scars upon her face darkening with the movement.

“I’d appreciate the help, thank you. I’m not too familiar with this setup.”

Altering her signature in the Force had been far from the hardest thing about transitioning into a disguise, but that didn't change the fact that Evoros actively disliked the task. It was one thing to hide her presence--invisibility was a natural state for her, a comforting shroud. But changing it to fit the untrained Sith wannabe she impersonated had taken longer to adapt to.

All the same, adapt she did. With the necessary time taken to adjust, it was only once in a while that she was aware of how uncomfortably the mask sat; times like now, as she became conscious of the stranger boring into her. Evoros suppressed a reaction as she noted the stranger's apparent blindness, making a decision across the next heartbeat that it nonetheless wasn't worth the risk of dropping her assumed mannerisms. Practice, as they said, made perfect.

So her smile matched Imogen's even as it went unseen, and Nina Vi'dreya inclined her head as she moved closer to the control panel.

"Yeah, it's a weird system. But worth it, once you get the hang of it." A keen interest filled her voice, the suggestion lying beneath her words that she could spend a good while longer excitedly explaining space technology if asked the right question. Instead, she spoke for the next few minutes, quick at first and slowing down each time she realised her own speed, giving Imogen an overview of the device's setup.

"...and that's where you adjust the scale." She breathed out, seemingly conscious of her spent energy, as she enlarged the hologram, gazing at the array of stars. "There, it looks-"

The pause was uncomfortable and deliberate, and then she cleared her throat and moved on.

"Anyway, that's the gist of it. I'm Nina, by the way."
