And Let the Fires Burn [Miel Tevv]

Looking out of the window in her new citadel, Fiolette knew the feeling of rebuilding and she knew it well.

Zonju V was a necessity, she needed a footprint outside of the Imperial hands and she had it. Now she had to step further away. Her mind drifted to Dren Var Nabba and their discussion that night, and as she shut her eyes Fiolette pushed away from the melancholy thoughts. Instead, the redhead clung to the feelings that clung to her heart. A glance down at her hand and she swore she saw the old sunspots the ones she traded away for youth and as she looked at her reflection in the glass she wondered just how long this would last. "Snap out of it Yvarro." The woman snapped at herself, "this will not do, not at all."

A sigh escaped her and all at once her shoulders felt heavier than they had before.

The galaxy had stopped and she was alone, alone in her solitude of fortress alone with her feelings to dwell on the past. Her time with the First Order, One Sith, Atrisian and Sith Empires all of it flooded to the forward of her mind. Fiolette realized as she looked herself in this reflection, "no, I do not regret my past. I made it through on my own, consequences be damned." Consequences be damned, Ferrathias, Lucinyia, Ryssa, and Ariel her children had been the lambs sent to be sacrificed for the god that was her career. This, this she was not proud of and the thought of her actions and their consequences. Slowly, the woman sunk into her chair and all the money in the galaxy felt like a muted tone. Fiolette turned away from her reflection and went back to her journal. Journaling had become a way to write out her depression, to put it all down somewhere.

No, I don't normally trust Mandalorians and for the record, I still don't.

But.

They have their uses, and as I sit here behind a figurative line of them this is their purpose. Zonju V was temporary, it always was - the First Order was right there. I couldn't stay on Zoronhed forever, and Botajef offers numerous opportunities. A built-in shipyard, parked on the Hydian Way? Of course. But even with its opportunities, Botajef is temporary as all things are I suppose. There are only so many ways you can prolong death, so many times you can cheat your way through life before it comes back to you.

Still.

I'll keep myself in motion, and keep myself in the company of the Mandalorians.

Unless I leave myself to sit still just long enough to remember the pain that waits for me on the other side.

Fiolette's thoughts were interrupted by a small buzz. "Miel Tevv is here." The woman on the other end of the intercom said and the Galidraani rose from her seat.

"Send him in."

"I don't like this, Miel," Nathanos Darksword mumbled under his breath just loud enough for his associate to hear.

"You've mentioned."

"Okay, I really don't like this," the Hapan's voice took on an almost whining tone.

Director Tevv of the Sullust based SoroSuub Corporation scoffed at his deputy's concerns, but privately could not help but admit to himself that he shared some of them. It was not long ago that [member="Fiolette Yvarro"] had been considered the enemy, and not just any enemy but a high ranking officer in the First Order Navy. Miel was far less partisan than most of his family, as far as SoroSuub was concerned business was business, but there could be little doubt that the woman he was about to meet had once attended strategy briefings targeting the Sullust system itself.

"Primo Victorian helped considerably with the Phoenix Initiative on Thyferra," he reasoned, as much for his own sake as Deputy Darksword's, "She's had ample opportunity to betray us by now. Besides, you really think the FOSB would waste a double agent on us?"

"Not on you maybe," to his credit, despite the apparent nervousness on his face Nathanos hardly missed a beat, "Its impossible to predict exactly how a woman will respond when I enter a room. She could be inflamed to passion at the mere sight of my raw sensuality."

"Please stop talking."

His luxury yacht the Belefonte was moored up in orbit, and they were currently being escorted through one of Yvarro's Botajef facilities by a light honor guard from their shuttle now idling on the deck of the citadel's main hangar to some kind of executive office Tevv assumed. It was an impressive site to be sure, dwarfed of course by the Centroplex back on Sullust but then his organization had centuries to build and expand. Primo Victorian by comparison was practically brand new. All this industry and progress in so short a time, it was something only a Sullustan could truly appreciate.

"Madame Yvarro, it is an honor to meet at last face to face," Miel greeted the shipwright CEO after a brief wait outside her office, "I am of course Director Tevv and this is my deputy director and senior analyst, Nathanos Darksword."

"Truly exquisite to make your acquaintance."

Out of the corner of his own eye, Miel caught a glimpse of the lecherous glint in the Hapans'. This was going to be a long meeting.

"Before we begin," he quickly reasserted control over the dialogue, "On behalf of the entire Board of Directors and the Sullustan Council, we would like to express our personal thanks for your organizations' good works on Thyferra. To look past any misgivings you may have towards the Alliance and do the right thing shows great strength of character, a quality most prized by the Board in SoroSuub's associates."

Fiolette watched as the Sullustan and his Hapan associated entered her office. "An honor indeed Mr. Tevv, and a pleas-"

The Galidraani did not utter so much as a syllable before Mr. Darksword made her acquaintance. She gave him a rather polite nod and smile, a facade taught to many women on her homeworld. Without hesitation, Mr. Tevv drew her attention with his gratitude for work on Thyferra, "let us just say that I am pleased to have been of some assistance." Thyferra itself would need more than just a singular helping hand, but no doubt the Sullustan knew that. "Please, have a seat both of you and would either of you care for a drink, or a smoke?" She offered whilst she took her own seat opposite of them.

Once either one or both were settled with any refreshments, the former grand admiral proceeded onwards. "I would like to open the floor to you Mr. Tevv or to your associate Mr. Darksword to bring forth what it is that Primo Victorian could do for SoroSuub, and then we can begin our negotiations from there."

"Thank you for your hospitality, but we-"

"You are most generous, Miss Yvarro," Nathanos quickly interjected, pausing only from lighting one of the shipwright's proffered cigarras to glance up at her reaction to his emphasis. When she did not correct him, his smile grew even wider. He took a long drag of the cigarra before gratefully accepting a mixed drink from one her attendants.

"Yes, well," Miel cleared his throat uncomfortably and was grateful when [member="Fiolette Yvarro"] picked up the thread and got down to the business at hand, "We of course know of Primo Victorian's work, just as I am certain you are familiar with ours. Now that we are no longer constrained by nationalist sentiment, it is my opinion and by extension that of the Board that we need not approach business strictly as rivals, but as partners."

"A mutually...satisfying relationship, if you will," his deputy added most unhelpfully, even going so far as to give his eyes a barely perceptible suggestive wiggle.

"Indeed," Miel quickly swooped up the reigns of their dialogue once more, "As I am certain you are aware, madame, SoroSuub Corporation has a proud legacy spanning centuries of quality starship manufacture. During the reign of the One Sith, my people became much more insular, and while our holdings across our home system are vast-"

"Sizable, even."

"Thank you, Nathanos. While our holdings in the Sullust system are...considerable, outside of Coruscant and a few other Alliance worlds our intergalactic reach is not what it used to be."

"I love the feng shui in here," the Hapan took a long drag of his cigarra, very clearly paying little attention to his Sullustan counterpart's sales pitch, "You know, if you knocked down that wall it would really open this space right up."

"And that is where Primo Victorian comes in," Miel resumed after a long pause mostly filled with apologetic smiles and internal screaming, "You have operations throughout the Outer Rim, you can make introductions and advise us on local trade policy. In return, your organization would gain unfiltered access to the Sullust markets and we would advocate for you across Alliance space. Let the past stay in the past."

"We're all about living for the moment," his deputy's gaze was unflinching as he downed the rest of his cocktail in one go.

"If things work out," the young Sullustan tycoon coughed loudly, "Further down the line we could examine the possibility of greater transparency between our development wings, perhaps even a joint venture of some sort."

Fiolette cleared her throat just as the Hapan spoke and instead turned her attentions to Mr. Tevv and listened to him. "Of course." She acknowledged his first statement as national sentiments had long since faded for the Galidraani. Once more the Hapan spoke out of turn and she did her best to simply remain polite and continued to give the Sullustan her full and undivided attention. She nodded when he spoke of SoroSuub's legacy although she had mostly seen his schematics from behind the closed doors of Central Command on Avalonia. And the continued incessant barking from his companion reminded her of all those young men from the Atrisian Imperial Navy who thought that perhaps they were the Force's gift to women.

"I see." She said simply, "well I am more than happy to assist you in your efforts to expand in the Outer Rim, so as it stands now."

She narrowed her gaze on the Sullustan, "I do not believe we've any operations near Sullust, however; I can see where that may become beneficial to us."

Fiolette placed her hands on her desk and looked over to the Hapan a moment with a rather stern gaze and then back to Mr. Tevv, "at the moment I feel it would be rude to not provide you something, so here's how this will work. I will help you with the Outer Rim markets, and I will even provide you with a small investment in which to assist you with your expansion efforts. However, in return not only will there be access to the Sullustan Markets, but once you are able to produce new material. Primo Victorian Shipwright would like to receive these materials or products at least three months in advance before they hit market."

The Galidraani placed a hand on a drawer and pulled it open, from there she with drew a credit chip and adjusted the numbers. She placed her thumb for security purposes verifying and authorizing the amount on it. From there she placed it on a small tablet she had taken out from another drawer. A contract had been preloaded, Fiolette adjusted the settings and slid the credit chip with the tablet toward Mr. Tevv. "I turst that you'll find my investment to be rather sizeable, wouldn't you say... Mr. Darksword?"

[member="Miel Tevv"]

"Most impressive," Nathanos audibly gulped, taking a brief glance at the tablet display before them. With a barely perceptible nod, he signaled to Miel that what [member="Fiolette Yvarro"] was offering translated into significant value for their extrasystem operations.

It was the main practical benefit of having the Hapan in polite company, something about his mind worked differently than most of his species. Practically a walking talking calculator, Director Tevv had little doubt that his deputy's assessment was analytically sound. He only wished that Fiolette's obviously annoyed attitude at his inappropriate behavior was having the intended effect, but knowing the Sullustan's friend far too well Miel was all but certain that to be spurned would only entice him further.

"You drive a hard bargain, Yvarro," it was a cliche thing to say, but he felt the sudden urge to bide time out loud to ponder if only to silence Nathanos, "We have similar agreements in place with entities such as the Galactic Alliance. Obviously it would be difficult to negotiate sole preferential treatment for Primo Victorian, but I believe we could convince the Board of Directors to fold you into the existing list of priority clients."

"That said, SoroSuub prides itself on our open mindedness," before Tevv could even groan, Nathanos chimed in, "We're a diverse conglomerate with many interests, as I am sure you are already aware, from energy processing to communications technology. It might be of some benefit to this proposed joint endeavor for you to consider which of our speculations are of particular use to your fine enterprise. All of this information is already at your fingertips, of course, but for ease of reference..."

The deputy director produced his own datapad, preloaded with a comprehensive overview of SoroSuub's organizational structure. Miel frowned, not quite certain how to respond now that his partner had actually contributed something of substance to the negotiation.
