And it Begins...

Hakan Venttuss

He Who Blinds the Sun
Hakan was told to report to this rather empty part of the ship. Likely the training room mentioned. His wounds had finally healed and he was reading for the first stage of his training. Dressed for the first time in his black robes, along with a white sash underneath his black hooded cloak. First time wearing this kind of clothing so it was all a very new experience to him, and with that so began his first day as a Sith. Naturally he was nervous especially with Thyrian mentioning that the trianing would break him physically and mentally, so naturally he had no clue what to expect.

His training saber attached to his belt, the young man looked around, he had no idea how to be a Sith, knowing nothing of the fighting styles nor of force powers in any way at all, so this would naturally be a very tough session for him to endure if he planned on getting himself familiar with any of these neccessities. He had to learn them if he were to be a Sith. But he was committed to this cause, the Sith cause meant he'd never have to go back to poverty again, and if that was enough to promise him and his family enough to feed themselves then it was obvious that he'd go all out to accomplish this. He still had so many questions yet so little time, he was barely getting used to even being aboard this ship. And still not used from the transition from Slave to Sith.

"Peace is a lie" a voice rang out, from seemingly nowhere yet everywhere in the room itself, "there is only Passion." Kära watched the boy for his reactions from her vantage point, not yet revealing herself to him. "Through Passion I gain Strength." The soft sound of footsteps could be heard, their location indistinguishable. "Through Strength I gain Power." At this point it would begin to feel as though someone were watching him, staring at the back of his head. "Through Power I gain Victory." And now that sensation would begin to raise the hairs on the back of his neck, or send shivers down his spine. "Through Victory my chains are broken", oh... This part he would be able to relate to, the breaking of chains. "The Force shall set me free." The last words were spoken right into his ear, the breath of the speaker trailing down his neck.

And then it was gone.

Kära stepped from the shadows in front of him, head subtly inclined to the ground. "The Code of the Sith, from the finding of Korriban and the enslavement of its species. Do you know what lies within its precepts?" Her movements brought her pacing around his form, each step slow and measured with an air of thoughtfulness to-boot. Her gaze was not upon him, it remained down yet oddly as though staring off into the distance. Ponderous.

The rather dark room didn't allow him to see much, being completely clueless as to where the voice was coming from. It was actually rather irritating to not be able to pinpoint something as basic as a voice or footsteps, and that feeling was somewhat disorienting, which was probably the aim of whoever was behind this phenomena. But this voice seemed to be reciting some form of

The young man's eyes flickered left and right, trying to see where it came from, before he felt the hairs on the back of his neck spike up in surprise, he thought the voice came from everywhere at once, and for it to suddenly shift was incredibly nerve-wracking, instinctively he turned around, only to find the voice speak into his ear, he stepped back a little, looking in the direction the voice came from, slightly scared he wasn't going to lie about that.

Then, the voice had gone.

He observed a figure emerge from the shadows, easily recognizeable as the woman who had saved him, but also as the women Thyrian told him to call "Master.", granted this felt like a massive return to slavery, but he wouldn't be wearing these if he was a slave, he was here for something else.
He didn't know the Sith code, Hakan hadn't come across and Jedi or Sith, and if he did he didn't know about it, it was a slight shame. It would've helped to know even the slightest about the Sith. But unfortunately that wasn't the case. He'd have to pick up on the way. "No, unfortunately not." He spoke, he looked interested to know however, if he was here to commit to it. He'd have to learn.

Her brow raised in curiosity, before remembering his former situation. He will be as ignorant as I was as a child, although Depravious had taught me at least the beginnings of the Sith Code by the time I left his presence in favour of Korriban she remarked to herself, before nodding her head just once. "Very well, Apprentice. I want you to learn the words and meditate on the meaning of each tenet. This is not something I should teach you, instead something you ought to find within yourself. But not now. Recite to me the code I just spoke and we can begin with the true teachings held here today."

While she waited for him she began to prepare, they would begin with the mental aspects which meant he would learn the true meaning of privacy and invasion. Part of her wondered on whether to warn him of what was to come, to give him time to prepare. But others would not give him that luxury, so neither will I. Instead she waited, already willing and prepared to violate his mind in order to strengthen it. Sometimes the kindest of acts could be wrapped up in horrific experiences... Sometimes.

Well now he was somewhat embarassed about not knowing it, he didn't have much in the way of time to learn it but it was at least a first step he should've done, but he never knew he'd be freed and initiated like this so there was no way he'd know. He was then told to memorize and meditate on every tenet of the Code, which wouldn't be too hard for him, Hakan had a pretty good memory in his normal state, he needed it if he was working in a shipyard, a lot of pieces to remember.

And that voice, he wouldn't forget the situation and how she threw her voice that easily. He breathed in. "Peace is a lie..." This was true, it was something he knew a while pack, peace was just an illusion to fool the masses, Hakan never knew true peace. "There is only passion." This was a bit harder to remember but he knew the meaning of this, if people were truly passionate, peace wouldn't exist, as people could have a passion for anything no matter the danger or oddity behind it.

"Through passion I gain strength..." He found this a bit easier, it made sense really, if someone was really passionate about something they'd fight and conquer for it, this code seemed more and more relatable to him by the second. "Through power I gain Victory..." This was self explanitory, but he figured it was saying that he needed to have passion in order to grasp victory, he was understanding the way the Sith worked now.

"And through Victory, my chains are broken..." He could relate to this the most, in a very literal sense. "And the Force will set me free..." He could relate to this too, as the Force would be his way to true freedom, the Force was to be his guide, and also his spear and his shield.

She interjected him at through power I gain victory. "Through Strength I gain Power... Only then can you move on to achieve Victory." But it was his first attempt, so for that she did not dwell too long upon it. "Tell me, Hakan, how do you feel about your mind?" It was an odd question, but one worth asking before any form of mentallism was to be taught. Besides, it gave an insight into who he was, and that was a large part of his psyche. That would help her gain a foothold in his mind, to begin showing and guiding him from within.

Many believe that learning to wield a lightsaber is taxing and tiring, but give a man a few hours with me and his mind and he will learn the true meaning of exhaustion.

They could move onto lightsaber combat later; any student of Kyros' had to up their mental defences before she would let them loose on the Galaxy. Of course, owing to the fact that she was teaching them her own, well practised, techniques... It meant that she also knew the subtle weakspots and how to expose them for herself and her own benefit. Her mind was her greatest asset, and she wasn't willing to lose that control over her students. It shows them that there is always more to learn. And that makes them dependant.

He got something wrong. Oh well, she had only said it once after all and it was easier to remember something through repetition. But then suddenly out of the blue came a less common question as to what he thought about his mind. The young man didn't quite know how to respond to that. He had grown up in slavery so he figured he didn't really have a psyche like many other people. "Of my mind?" He repeated, yet obviously understanding the question. "I suppose strong. I've suffered a lot and I've gained a lot from it. As if the way I had been treated and the hatred I felt has stirred up something inside of me. A certain power or resilience." He explained briefly, not quite knowing how to feel. This was a tough question to answer. But she'd soon figure out.

Still rather skeptical to the situation. He continued. "I've been scarred and broken many times. And I'm sure it could happen again." The apprentice tried to describe what he thought. He felt as if he had an untapped potential, a sort of resource that he possessed and gained from his experiences. An abstract sort of power? He wasn't sure. He could feel how he felt, but it was much much harder putting into words and making it seem like something tangible or easily explained.
