Ana was born to a fairly ordinary family on Corellia, though, there is a deliberate mental block for a good deal of her childhood. It contains things that she believes to be beneath her, behind her, and she has every intention of leaving the past in the past. She was told that her mother was a failed fisher-woman and that her father worked himself nearly to death in varying shipyards. The once bright planet was on the mend but it was still stricken with pollution and poverty in many areas. To put it plainly—Her working-class parents couldn't afford to keep her. Rather than let her starve in the off-seasons or fall into unsavory activities she was sold to one of the few remaining influential powers for domestic staff services. She was a well-mannered youngling and took to her duties reasonably quickly.

She was obedient, but moreover, intelligent enough to know that others had it far worse than she did. The senior staff taught Anastasia how to mind a home, cook, clean, budget, sew, read, and write in the interest of being able to better serve. Her contract of service would exist until she came of age, though, it was soon discovered that she had a knack for languages. Rather than remaining as a simple maid, Ana became an adept scribe and polyglot. They started her off with small tasks such as translating foreign shipment manifests that eventually turned into being present for meetings where an interpreter was required.

It behooved her betters to have a translator that was not only bright, but thoughtful, and charming. Her eyes were oft the subject of discussion for the unique shade and more than a few business partners tried to buy her contract but to no avail. She was a valuable resource that no one had any intention of giving up.

When Ana was in the summer of her fifteenth year, one of the negotiations she attended, was in the presence of a few Green Jedi due to a sensitive nature. There was a misunderstanding between the two parties that they seemed determined to mediate. Things went well and while initially apprehensive about the mystical Jedi guests she found herself growing fond of their singular focus during their stay. There was something about the way they spoke, carried themselves, that made her wonder what it might have been like to act with her own agency. Everything that she achieved now was always attributed to a Master she had been sold to. They told her stories of faraway places when she was sent to tend to anything they might need. They were kind in a way she did not understand. Why would anyone of such renown pay attention to her without wanting something in return?

Things went well, until, Anastasia misspoke a particularly difficult dialect and accidentally enraged her Master. The misunderstanding was easily remedied but she did receive a less-than-gentle ear full. When she apologized, however, there was something in her tone that couldn't be argued with. Anger melted away almost instantly and everyone settled enough to complete deliberations. She never noticed the Jedi whispering amongst themselves.

It was to her utmost surprise when negotiations came to a close that these Jedi had also secured her contract.

They gave her the option to remain at their Enclave, free to make her own decisions, or, to learn to be more like them. Anastasia was young, still, not ignorant enough to ignore her luck. She was hesitant to go off into the unknown but something about it called to her.

In the end—She would up a Padawan Learner at a reclusive Green Jedi Enclave. Ana was too old when she was brought in to completely accept all of their traditions but she did her best to make peace with her past and the world as it was. She spent her years learning, training, and coming to understand the Force in ways she never thought possible. It was one of the happiest moments she could recall becoming a Jedi Knight, but also, one of the saddest.

    She knew she would leave.

There was a whole galaxy outside of Corellia...She couldn't wait to see it. There were also other aspects of being a Jedi that she had little idea of. The ways of the Jedi Council on Coruscant were different and intriguing. Like, maintaining peace throughout many systems versus only focusing on the well-being of Corellia. She wanted to study there as well and learn everything available. The New Jedi Order seemed happy to have a bright, young, studious Knight and assigned her to a seasoned Jedi Master Adric Rocheford Adric Rocheford to show her the ropes.

She only hoped not to disappoint.
