Faction An Ounce of Prevention [Eclipse Rebellion]

Though the Kentra of Orellon II weren’t the most technologically advanced, they had the technology to call for aid when they had need of it.

And so they did.

A famine had spread across the planet over the past few months, and most of the clans suffered from starvation, rationing food where they could, and having to play gods with who ate and who starved. Their pleas for help from the galaxy had been ignored, until Alor Taozi Fuyuan Taozi Fuyuan Tal heard their cries. She organized her clan, gathered as much donated food from the people of Taanab as she could, and local farmers volunteered to come attempt to solve the famine.

What no one else knew, however, was that Taozi had contacted the Voice of Abbaji.

Behind the medics and farmers, would be rebels with guns and knowledge. Knowledge of the atrocities the Empire has committed. Knowledge of how many innocent lives have been destroyed by their hands.

Hopefully, with the advanced weapons and knowledge the rebels give, the Kentra could fight back against the Eternal Empire when the time comes.

Behind her buy'ce, Taozi grimaced. Anxiety gnawed at her bones, as she tried not to look at anyone not in beskar'gam or farmer's clothes. The less rebels she saw, the less of a threat to them she was if the Empire learned of what was going on in the future.

Plausible deniability was a wonderful thing.

Taozi even had a plan in mind, to explain the weapons she bought from Noah Corek Noah Corek that the rebels were giving out. If the Kentra had better weapons to hunt with, they would have a more reliable source of meat, to fight the famine! It wasn't a total lie, but it wasn't the whole truth either.

She sighed as she scanned the crowd, observing as members of Clan Tal handed out crates of food. Her fleet was scattered across the planet, flitting about between the different clans of the Kentra, the few members that had seen and recorded the carnage at Bakura spreading the footage in places Taozi could not see.

Plausible deniability was truly a wonderful thing to the Alor today.

Though the plausible deniability of Taozi Fuyuan Taozi Fuyuan held nothing compared to that of Sterling, who held no understanding of what exactly he was doing here, beyond a humanitarian aid mission. He was calmly walking about, his thick, scary armor offset by only his revealed face, which held a gentle expression as he waded through what seemed to be a sea of children clambering about him, at least one of whom was half hanging off of his shoulders as he walked. His tail was flicking happily, and he made sure each child had a turn climbing over him and getting their little bit of fun in, to the point that he had to pull one off of him only to pick up another.

Small winged cats at least some of these little ones may be, they had not had the privilege of meeting a Komo in the flesh, providing them endless entertainment. And he was only too happy to entertain them while those who lead them retrieved the food and other supplies that clan Tal had brought for them. Eventually he spotted his mentor, and half dragged the swarm of children with him over, still cradling one of them in his arms as he arrived.

He did his best to give her a traditional Komo bow, one hand over his heart pulling away as he bent over, but could only do so much without dropping the child. When he stood up straight, he had the widest smile he had given in months, and half bounced the child in his arms like a doting father. "Do good, Chieftain Foo-Yoo-Yawn. Many hatchlings happy, fill bellies. Survive better in Fam-in. DO much good." He was struggling to speak, eliciting what sounded like laughter from some of the 'hatchlings'.

Today was a good day, something Sterling had forgotten the feeling of.

Lori had arrived with Arla in tow once the Jaster's Sparrow touched down. She was a young woman on a mission. The Eternal Empire hadn't reached Orellon II yet and that was all well and good. It was rumoured that a Sith Scroll was hidden in one of the Kentra villages. Given the dark nature of the Empire, it was better if such an artifact was kept out of their hands. Lori had done her research, searching for clues in the same meticulous ways as she had in the past when on the hunt of other artifacts. It was a treasure hunt in every sense of the words and she loved figuring them out.

Yet there was another Rebelious cause for her being here. The Eternal Empire's assault on Bakura was widely lied about on the holonews. So much so that the true facts were usually removed by Imperial slicers before they could reacha more mainstream audience. Given that Lori was on Bakura at the time and had witnessed the carnage firsthand, she was determined to get that truth out!

Taozi Fuyuan Taozi Fuyuan was already there. It was piggybacking on her humanitarian mission that Lori used for her cover. Right now she wasn't certain of who's side the Mandalorian medic was on, but that would be revealled in time.

Lori glanced overat Sterling Kinslayer Sterling Kinslayer while he played with some children and it made her smile. THAT was how the Galaxy should always be; with everyone getting along. But...that was just a pipe dream.

Holding her datapad in hand, Lori walked further into the village. She needed to make a speech for them. But first she wanted to find a good vantage point. Arla kept in pace along with her, ever mindful of those nearby and further off.

Credits weren't a issue to her at all
So why did she do contracts like this?
Simple
The thrill of it all and helping out without being know as some political figure.... that's why

Perfect way to tag along as well, a good clan she knew was heading there for humanitarian relief....well that's the story....star wasnt stupid and knew otherwise but that's why she signed up to make some credits for clan Solus maybe get their name out there for more contracts. Clad in her gam the tall twileks armor shined a little as light reflected off her clan colors as she looked among the village and then sighed out as she looked to sterling and approached beside him as she moved her lekku and communicated with her words

make a hell of a father I bet, these ones will tell stories of you for ages no doubt

She said glancing about once more over the village and behind that gam smiled, just like old times it felt, simply helping those in need

The grimace on Taozi's face softened behind her buy'ce as Sterling Kinslayer Sterling Kinslayer dragged over the gaggle of children. Her heart tightened in pain, knowing she had dragged her student into a dangerous situation, even as a soft laugh escaped her lips at the enjoyment of the children. Today was a good day, indeed.

The people were being provided with food, their famine was being solved, and they were being given weapons to hunt better.

"Yes... Once the famine is solved, and all the supplies have been given out..."

The Kentra will be ready for the Empire.

"Their lives will be better."

Until the Empire tries to crush them.

Taozi turned her head to Stardust Solus Skirae Stardust Solus Skirae , watching her quietly. Surely the other woman knew what she had gotten herself into by agreeing to come, so why? Pink eyes stared silently behind white 'gam, before looking over the gathering. Already, rebels were showing Kentra how to fire the weapons, while even other members of Clan Tal seemed to ignore the rebels' existence.

Those who had stayed behind to keep an eye on the village watched Loreena Arenais-Valhoun Loreena Arenais-Valhoun enter their home from the trees. Many watched from inside their homes in the trees, but those who didn't stopped their movements to watch the woman and her companion. Curious eyes scanned the two up and down, until the flap of large wings reverberated through the air.

"You there!"

Above the women, a large, elderly female Kentra flew down to land in front of them.

"You have come to bring us supplies, yes? With the others, in the clearing. Did you get lost?"

The Kentra elder laughed, before smiling to the best of her abilities at the two.

"What brings you into our home proper?"

MERCYCOM MERCYCOM

Lori smiled and bowed her head respectively to the Kentra elder, a little more at ease as she had laughed. "No, we're not lost. We've come to share knowledge about things that we've bear witness too by a large empire who's territory grows ever closer to your own. They try to hide this truth, knowing that it will make their conquests all the more difficult for them to secure. Will you listen?"

If the people didn't want to hear it, then she wasn't going to force them. At least not here anyways. Surely Arla could figure out another way to broadcast it out. But this was important. What happened on Bakura could happen anywhere.

Sterling turned his head to Stardust Solus Skirae Stardust Solus Skirae , and began to make very subtle movements with his tail and posture, at the same time making just the lowest of grumbling and growling noises, so as to not scare the kids. To those around him, likely including his mentor Taozi Fuyuan Taozi Fuyuan , these would be relatively meaningless, though Stardust would more than likely get every word from the exchange, having spent time learning everything she'd need for these short, but meaningful exchanges. "<Then I hope they tell stories of Sterling Solus. He deserves to continue to live on in their stories for every moment they remember him.>" He cleared his throat a bit, and turned his head back to Taozi, still smiling as he changed out the child in his arms again.

"Much good. Would like to come ah-gain. Hunt bee-side Ken-Tra. Make good story, for Stir-Ling Sole-Us. Help more, more good yes?" It was painfully obvious how hard he was trying to think through the words, no doubt. The more that he thought on them, the harder it was for him to speak aloud, and the worse his syntax and grammar in general would get. This was all still so very unnatural, and only fixed itself at all if he just let the words come to him without concentration.

Still, at least the words came.

The Kentra elder smiled down at Loreena Arenais-Valhoun Loreena Arenais-Valhoun and listened carefully as the young woman spoke. She hummed, her smile turning into a frown quickly. These people the woman spoke of sounded... Dishonorable. Dishonest. And conquerors at that? The elder nodded as she made a decision.

"We will listen. Tandre would be ashamed of us if we did not. Let me gather those here, and then we shall hear of this empire encroaching upon us, yes? Ah, and you may call me Lightwing."

Lightwing smiled once more at Loreena, before flying high up to one of the platforms in the colossal trees the Kentra made their homes in, where the others in the village had gathered. She spoke to her people for but a few moments, before the all flew down to Loreena. Once more, Lightwing approached the rebel.

"Tell us of this empire, so that we may fight along side you."

MERCYCOM MERCYCOM

Lori bowed her head again. And as Lightwing took off to the trees, she chided herself for not giving out her own name first. Oh how silly of her. Yet she wasn't a trained diplomat like her Mom was. Lori was...a goofball for the most part. However the rebellion against the Eternal Empire caused her to show her more serious side.

Once Lightwing returned with the others, Lori gave them a small smile in greeting, but then let that happiness drop. What she was about to talk to them about wasn't anything to smile about.

"The Eternal Empire is much like the Imperial Empires of old. They seek to control and take away everyone's freedoms to live fulfilling lives as their own cultures dictate. Instead they want you to comply and obey, to follow their strict military rule and conform to their way of life. Those that resist are slaughtered." Lori brought up her datapad, showing them disturbing images of Bakura, where men, women and children of all ages were rounded up in a city square and fired upon. "This is what Kainan Wolfe Kainan Wolfe has his forces do to those that resist. I was there. I saved as many as I could, bringing them underground to the sewer levels where we could escape in ships that could slip through their blockades. None of us expected the Empire to turn on everyone like that. It was a slaughter; a completely unneccessary slaughter. And they'd do that to anyone that gets in their way." She shut off the datapad. "I don't want the same to happen here. Or anywhere for that matter. Please help me to fight them and to stop their conquest of the Galaxy."

The Kentra gathered closely around Loreena Arenais-Valhoun Loreena Arenais-Valhoun , and listened even closer. Her words were disturbing to them, even before the images of Bakura. Cries of horror, growls of rage, and gasps of disbelief came from the gathered Kentra as Loreena showed the atrocities committed on Bakura. There was no honor to be found among the Imperials.

None. At. All.

"Monsters, the lot of them."

Lightwing growled as Loreena turned off her data pad. Those around her nodded their heads in agreement, and looked to Loreena.

"We will aid you. This... Eternal Empire, will never be Eternal. They will be ended here, on our home, before they can cause more carnage in the galaxy. These images must be spread across our world, to every Kentra. These imperials have no honor. No integrity. No hearts.

"And that is why they will fail."

Lori nodded. She wanted to smile and stand proudly for what she had accomplished, but it was a fight that she was asking for from them. The time for smiling would be after their victory.

Her eyes fell onto each individual present. How many of them will die for their planet before the Eternal Empire was chased out? She hoped that their numbers of fallen would be few. But it was difficult to say how it would all go. That all depended on how much forces the Empire would bring with them.

Lori held out her datapad. "Here. You can take this if it would help. The files are there as well as my contact information. My name is Loreena Arenais. I am the public face of the Eclipse Rebellion. I will do what I can to ensure that you are aided and supported in this fight. The Kentra will not have to face the Empire alone. You have my word on that." And she meant it too. She'd be there right along with them. No doubt the Empire would be surprised at what awaited them once they set foot on the ground.

MERCYCOM MERCYCOM

Lightwing took the datapad from Loreena Arenais-Valhoun Loreena Arenais-Valhoun gently, careful not to break it, and stared at it.

"This information must reach our Queen. She and her advisors will form a plan for us to combat this... Kainan Wolfe Kainan Wolfe and his army. One united front across the planet would be best, and with those weapons we were brought to aid our hunting..."

Lightwing handed the datapad back to Loreena with a smile.

"Take this to Queen Talira. Tell the guards that Lightwing sent you, and they will allow you entrance into the palace in Kariish. I may be wise, but I am not wise enough to plan an attack on these imperials on a planet wide scale."

The elder laughed, before gently placing a hand on Loreena's shoulder. Those gathered placed their own hands on Lightwing's arm, shoulders, and back.

"I promise you, Loreena Arenais of the Eclipse Rebellion, that the Kentra shall stand as one beside you. You have a strong heart, and an honorable will. It would be an honor to fight with you, when the time comes."
